- We discuss the SE2 Dominator Duo Cam and talk about the feel of it compared to the bows. We talk about the adjustability of the bow and the features compared to the other flagship bows from Mathews, Hoyt, Elite, and Bowtech.
We shoot the PSE Dominator Duo SE2 at 18meters with target setup.

Steven , Spot on as always. The way a bow feels is very important , and is certainly personal preference. While people may "measure out" to the same exact draw length, the same bow at the same draw length may feel vastly different to 2 people. The module comments are spot on a well, I shoot a Mathews set at 27.5 inches , but draws 1/2 long , if I want to try a shorter draw I have to but more modules , which aren't cheap. I love your content and your common sense approach to archery
Will you be reviewing the PSE Supra X ? I'm curious to hear your views on it.
The SE2 cam you have on there is, for all practical purposes, exactly the same as every other SE cam you’ve ever shot - it’s just wider at the bearings / axle.
I know their cam naming is a bit confusing at the moment but here’s a summary:
Evolve: - Their original, big binary cam
SE: Small evolve cam, a smaller version of the Evolve
EM: Evolve mini - smaller still and more aggressive, no letoff adjustment
E2: Same as Evolve but wider at the bearings to take advantage of the wider limb spacing
SE2: Same as SE but wider at the bearings to take advantage of the wider limb spacing
EM2: Same as EM but wider at the bearings to take advantage of the wider limb spacing
M2: More aggressive EM cam with the wider spacing
S2: More aggressive SE cam
(These are the only 2 really new cams that appeared with the Dominator Duo)
I believe S2 and M2 were at one point aimed to replace SE and EM but people vote with their feet / wallets so SE2 and (as of yesterday on the Supra X) the EM2 remain.
My personal favourite is the EM :)
The way a bow feels to you is the most important factor IMO. Doesn’t matter what bow, recurve, long bow or compound. It should draw smooth. If you are struggling to draw it too much draw weight. Totally detrimental to controlling a shot. Mach doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to being accurate. But, in the long run, you have to decide if the feel is right for you. Never let anyone else talk you into a bow you aren’t 100% satisfied. This is why I still use an Elite Ritual 33. It fits my physic the best of any bow I’ve shot in the 6-7 years.
I just bought the 38
61#
30”
400 grain arrow
280fps
With the SE cams
The one you couldn’t think of. Probably the Citation.
How about the new shootdown pro ? Have you got a review on one?
In Europe the title is also weirdly cheaper. About €1700 where my $1200 Omnia went up to €1450. Prices do weird things sometimes.
When will you be reviewing the Supra x
Question Stephen? I used to shoot 68" NO PROBLEM! Now I am in a wheelchair I really need a 64" but, with an atf-dx even the short limbs still gives me 66s now what I wanto too know is how unhealthily is.the long riser for shòrt limbs?
I remember years ago you shot a 36" Perform X 3D, just the once on a video, at that time you had changed bows to the Citation. I wonder if the Dominator Duo is feeling like the 36" Perform X 3D since the 2019 bow has a IBO of 338.
As I get older I'm thinking of a 50lb bow. Does a 35" ATA, 50lb Dominator Duo achieve the 338 IBO advertised or is that what the 60lb limbs achieve?
IBO is based on 5 grains of arrow weight per pound, so 300 grains for 60lb and 250lb for 50lb. Arrow speeds would be within 1-2fps most likely.
Seeing some of the speed tests out there it appears they aren’t hitting IBO
How do you compare the M2 to the svx?
Is this a 38 " ata looks like a 40 "
Why he doesn't use peep?
Thats how Steven rolls for all his reviews🙂
Easier to test a bow 'out of the box' if you add a peep 9/10 times you are bound to messing with the string at the very least.
Them flies must be as annoying as fk Steve 😂
All bows are “measured” the same…But the fact some differ between each other isnt a surprise. They are supposed to be measured at AMO, however some can differ by 1/8 up to 1/2” in cases.
28” on a PSE is not 28” on a Mathews..
I have yet to measure a Mathews that wasn't 1/2 to 3/4 inches longer than the number on the module. Those speed numbers have to come from somewhere and it's not the draw force curve 😜
Old guys just buy a mod one inch short and have a good back wall which makes good form, but that's experience taking..😮
Wouldn't that require an already spongy back wall? And wouldn't you need to buy longer and twist the string shorter to give it a solid walll?
I miss the simplicity of the dominator
1st!
Great review. Thank you. I might have to pick one of these up.
@@Voxguitarsrock I hope you're going to try it before you buy and not just buy solely on what you see and hear in this review
This bow just wants to leave your hand. Way too Jumpy! Of course you’re going to sell it like it’s the best things ever…
