Rockstar’s epic poem of savagery, optimism, decay, loyalty, obsession and finally redemption is, for me, a true meditation on America. The game drills down into the dark heart of capitalism, where domination, not gain, is the ultimate goal. The game’s music is exceptional and wonderful and therefore strengthened it’s theme considerably.

The nightmare of every RDR gamers happened once to me.. I was in Tall Trees and then I promise there was bears after bears coming at me.. at the end I counted 54 bears !!! I was terrorized back then because they really came in group ! lol Tall Trees and Great Plains ara the areas that brings me the most nostalgy in this game ! followed by Tumbleweed, Pike's Basin (online players knows how that area was gold when the XP was doubled or tripled) and Chuparosa.
Uranova rockstar games said for the red dead redemption 2 the animals will attack between them, like the enemies in fable 3 when different types of enemies collide. So the bears will attack them selves, and wolves and cougars and crocodrilles 🐊

When you kill 2 bears and skin them but more keep spawning. Eventually you die from a bear charging from behind. Then you lose like 10 bear pelts and hearts.
I do recall in Mexico once getting bit by a snake and wondering what the hell was happening to me 😅😂 took me a moment to figure out a rattle snake was near by.

i think west elizabeth overall is better, considering the state has just about tripled in size. though i do think tall trees and blackwater got kind of fucked over, especially without manzinita post and that great railway.
I've spent at least 100 hours in tall trees. Can't get enough of it. The music, the animals, the snow. Makes me think on what it would be like on pc. We can only dream. edit: the realization that I posted this comment 7 months ago gave me a deep mental note, I've since spent more time in tall trees and I remember my first time ever going to the area. It was beautiful and my view on the area was so innocent and unaware.
I used to love listening to rdr1 music while at my grandparents' place in rural Wyoming. The vibes are definitely amplified when you're in a similar landscape to the game

I don’t think that I can say I have ever been more emotionally attached to a video game in all of my life. The storyline, the music, the graphics -although not the “greatest of all time,” still manage to convey the storyline very well and were way ahead of their time back in 2010 - make this game worthy to be called one of the greatest of all time.

Nekoti Rock & Tall Trees always gave me a sketchy, eerie vibe… debatably much more dangerous than any place in new Austin. the Outlaws that survived the desert clawed their way into the rocks and mountains around Cochinay. always gotta have eyes in the back of your head when you’re around here.
RDR1 had the best ambient music and open world tracks. RDR2 is severely lacking some good ambient tracks. As for the OST itself it’s debatable, both are great.
If only the forest was 20x bigger, that would have plenty of secrets,thousands, leprechauns, savages, just anything. I pray for a red dead redemption 3 with forests the sizes of actual states.
Sounds very familiar. I would equip the Expert hunter outfit for extra provisions from skinning. Then I would just go on a rampage killing all of the animals in Tall Trees (Bears, elk, beavers, etc.) since they were the most valuable. I would always take them to Escalera to sell. I had like $38,000 from doing that for a week.
While this place is pretty, I still avoid it like the plague. The only time I'm there is for a mission and then I hightail it out. Because I hate those bears.
I once killed 30 some-odd motherfucking bears in Tall Trees before one brought me down, just to see how far I could break the spawning algorithm. If Rockstar had put a cap on how many aggresive predators were allowed to spawn in a given time frame, RDR would probably top Ocarina in my book.
Red Dead Redemption 2 had the perfect soundtrack in the missions, and in relation to the story but I feel as if the free roam soundtrack was lacking, compared to the immersiveness of the ambience in RDR1
