In the beginning of Mortal Kombat X Storyline, Jackson Briggs is known as a revenant after being resurrected by Quan Chi to serve him against his will. After his soul is restored, Jax retires and eventually joins back in the fight against Quan Chi and Shinnok.

In Mk 1 things are supposed to be swapped. For example, Kuai Liang is scorpion, Raiden is the student and Liu Kang is the master, and Havik is with the order realm.
