NEW NS SD70ACE LEADER! | NS 1228 | 3-22-2022

- Welcome to another video! Been awhile, I currently have two more videos in the works. Unfortunately I recently became sick so I wasn't able to do any voice overs for this video.
Starting the video, it's March 22, 2022 in the afternoon/evening. We find NS 15M first with NS 7708 and UP 7320. 15M will pass 14M in Carson, a mile south from where I filmed 15M. Moving to the north side of the curve on the NS Youngstown Line, we start the small chase of 14M which has NS 1228 one of the brand new engines to join the NS fleet. Trailing behind 1228 is NS 4069.
NS 1228 is modeled as an SD70ACE but is designated as an SD70IAC with 4,500 horsepower. 1228 is one of ten units recently acquired by NS from Progress Rail. 1225-1234 we're formerly EMDX 2115-2124 from Progress Rail.
After getting 14M passing Seven Hills Rd we move up to NP to watch the train coming through the diamond and then wye to go easy towards Buffalo along the Lake Erie District, which is now under the control of the D&H. After NP we catch 14M departing Conneaut, OH, after it finished recrewing.

What is wrong with 7708's K5HL
Certain K5HLs sound like that. It’s probably how they are tuned. Nothing is wrong with it. The only reason I know that is because I live next to CSX trackage and they have those horns all the time that sound exactly like 7708. It could possibly be a 3rd gen or a 2nd gen horn
No it's 2nd gen. 3rd gen sounds much different then 7708
I hate guys calling them ACe when it's a crisp fresh IAC. They're not even 1 month old
NS literally calls them Ace on the side. Go complain to the company.
