Funny.. I'm spinning The Motels debut, right now ! Sean went out front to play, which gave me a chance to listen to records ! My roommate back in '79.. Frank went on to play with Martha Davis ( Bass ) and The Motels for a short while down in L.A. He was really proud of that ! Ted managed the Berkeley Tower in the late 80s or early 90s. Thanks ! 🎵

I was so sad to see them close down. In my record store I framed an old Tower Records bag and it said R.I.P. on it. It was behind the register counter.
I worked for Ted D. back in 1999 at the Reno TR. Wrote and published a short story from the time I worked there. I remember hearing about his Beach Boy's collection. I remember I traded a CD of cover bands doing Beach Boys song in Spanish. He was/is a character, for sure.

Loved The Motels who Capitol were very patient with & were rewarded with many hits. Dean Chamberlain from the underrated Code Blue eventually rejoining them as he was a member in the early days. A Madame Wongs band !

Yeah.. The spines are so perfect, as the records are also ! We only had 1 foot of snow out front of our house, but way up high.. 10 feet ! Thanks, Harry ☺️

This Elton Motello record is good... And rare ! An early punk rock classic, actually. His real name is Alan Ward.. Nice to have both the debut and his 2nd LP.. Thanks for checking this one out. 🎵

I cannot imagine snow...never seen it in real life. I saw Panther Burns a long time ago. In-between every song he'd pull out his comb to fix his perfectly styled quiff. Great wild rockabilly stuff. Hi JT. At the start of the video Flying Color and Tav Falco jumped out at me. Sure enough you picked them up. I've seen Tav Falco live. He had a lady join him on stage and they danced a tango. I'm no dance expert, but it sure felt authentic and impressive to me.

@@jtsrecordroom3963 I know the name Elton Motello, but I've never heard anything by him. The original version of 'Jet Boy Jet Girl' was called 'Ca Plane Pour Moi' by Plastic Bertrand. It was a massive hit in Europe (including the UK). It was still being used on a TV advert in recent years.

I really like the album Live with Mother's Finest, I Saw them on tv way back in time it was a Live program from Germany , so I got the Live album it is still good

I cannot imagine snow...never seen it in real life. I saw Panther Burns a long time ago. In-between every song he'd pull out his comb to fix his perfectly styled quiff. Great wild rockabilly stuff. A lot of things that I'd never heard of in this one Jt. Some nice Beach Boys & Blondie at the end. Cheers...Ben
Carl Tweed had also seen Tav Falco & Panther Burns back in the day ! Flying Color from San Francisco is excellent, and Elton Motello's " Jet Boy Jet Girl" is the original version.. I like The Motels debut, probably the best in their catalog.. So far !

Hi JT. At the start of the video Flying Color and Tav Falco jumped out at me. Sure enough you picked them up. I've seen Tav Falco live. He had a lady join him on stage and they danced a tango. I'm no dance expert, but it sure felt authentic and impressive to me.
I picked up more, will save for next time ! If anyone was going to know a few of these artists.. It's you, Carl ! I like every single one of these records, I picked up The Motors as well 🎵

@@jtsrecordroom3963 I know the name Elton Motello, but I've never heard anything by him. The original version of 'Jet Boy Jet Girl' was called 'Ca Plane Pour Moi' by Plastic Bertrand. It was a massive hit in Europe (including the UK). It was still being used on a TV advert in recent years.
Right.. Although Alan Ward ( Elton Motello ) wrote the song, you'll see. Interesting how much of a life the song had !

I have become aware of Ed Kuepper in the last couple of years, and I watch my friends channel in Melboune.. Ben Rankins. I will see about finding his solo stuff in the near future.. I hope to find that elusive Saints debut eventually. My mates from Brisbane had turned me onto the band way back in '81.. Since then, I got involved in my usual suspects, and more !
