Challenging roughing of big block (cnc milling)
Hi guys. I tried to turn off the air cooling in the video as much as possible so that the milling sound could be heard. While editing the video, I noticed that my colleague Andrej was fooling around behind me, so I left it in the video 🙂
You know you have a massive machine when you can walk trough the table while setting up that massive stock 😂
As much as the machining is impressive as in itself, the setup and indexing is even more.
Peter from South Africa you doing super nice tooling ,you need to get your own injection moulding machines, keep up the good work
God bless
wow very rare someone else that uses cimatron!! im a programmer in a mold shop and we use it i like it a lot
What a nice job, we got payed for doing our hobby! Win win. 🏆
very good job CncFrezar
Mesmerizing, thanks for sharing your work with us
I work in a mold shop to I do side work running a horizontal mill cnc its really fun and satisfying work
Thanks for showing, but as far as the striking of the workpiece you need to work on the safety! No edge protection on both chain and rope. Yes, even life-threatening steel on steel results in a risk of slipping for the part and so fast you can not jump in Save
You should try to say "Boom!" more in the videos. 😂
Excellent work
Hi, what would be faster, roughing rhe side with a long stickout tool at the start or flipping the part and then roughing the top?
bem obrigado
Nice Works!
Good job
Máte pěkně tuhou mašinu radost ta rychloposuvovka
Good job ! Awsome
Great sir Im Indonesian
You have a lot of trust in the software. I got scared with clearsnve of er nut 😅
Nicely tuned speeds and feeds, sounds mint !
It's so nice 👍👍👍
That's awesome
E muitas tecnologias 👍👍😎😎
Hi guys,
What are you using to hold down that cavity? where can i get some info on it.
Thanks
Hello! is there any chance of you putting the surface speed along with the rpm on the tool information! its all very useful but i have to go through and pause at each fram to work it out :) thankyou for the videos

i like it
What type of clamping devise did you use to hold this part? Your machining is very impressive!
thanks. We bought the clamps here: upinace.cz
Bueno
Nice video👍
Ja ti dám nice. Nevieš po slovensky?😛
Love it. Is that a Renishaw RMP60 probe you're using? We've gone from machining big hard metal pieces in our place to almost exclusively 7050 Aluminium. Biggest piece is 3.2 tons and ends up as an 80kg finished part
Yes, it is an RMP60 probe
👍
To vyzera ako mold na excentricky lis :)

Congratulations on the very good video, what steel is this friend? It is not hardened with the cutter at this speed?
Hi. It is a tool steel. It is written at the beginning of the video. It was just roughing it so it doesn't matter.
Hi friend ! It's good and i guess that it is a aluminum casting mold, right ?🎉🎉
do Milling without coolant has some negative effect on the finishing? or it doesnt matter? sorry im new in this
It is cooled by air. Today's tools are built for air cooling.
Jaki czas obróbki zgrubnej tak ogólnie ? Ile razy zmienialiscie płytki ? ;D
@@CncFrezargu7b
Sir I want to ask that why we don't use lubircation when milling the first layer of the workpiece?
You can mill steel without coolant. It's better for inserts because they don't receive thermal shock. They stay warm/hot all the time instead of getting hot and cooling down by every rotation.
Buenas

😀
When you see a machined part like this, try and visualise what it's negative would be, to make a decision on what it is
It is a mold into which aluminum is poured
Does all the swarf get recycled? Or is it just wasted?
Yes, everything is recycled
Amazing job !!!!
one question....why not coolant?
Thank you. It is cooled by air.
What kind of cycle time is that part? Also what type of finish requirement do you have to achieve
It's just roughing, so the finish doesn't matter. I can't talk about times.
@@CncFrezar no problem, do you make vidoes of the finishing or is that also not allowed?
Why is it smoking all the time? is there some oil leak, because pure steel shouldnt smoke like that, right?
Leaks on the spindle. That machine is a piece of junk
Is it better choice tool steel 1.2311 for injection mould rather than 1.2343.What is your expirience?
I don't know, we only use 1.2343
Hi, how many mm the cutter 16 Is out? 80 approximate? Is the cutter anti vibration?
The holder is extended to 85 mm. It is ordinary steel
@@CncFrezar thanks
what do you use for vises?

What is it, a mold?
Once you crash and burn into a 200 hour mold half this sound is no longer soothing.

Is that a stamping die for automotive application?
I don't know what it's for, but probably not.
hi ,what´s the name of the clamping sistem you are using

Jak řešíte vykreslování mezi operacema ? Když programuji nějaké vetší tvarové plochy právě rychloposuvovkama (nemá to rádo torusové frezy při vypočítávání polotovaru) a navazuji hrubovacími operacemi na sebe takže musím vykreslovat odběr a CAM těžce nestíhá tady jste to museli nějak řešit předpokládam
Ahoj. Keď hrubujeme nevykreslujeme nič. Dáme v každom hrubovacom programe vypočítať zbytkový mat.a ďalšia fréza vie kde už nemá ísť.
@@Tops872 Napr. Dám vyhrubovať 40tkou frézou a obmedzím hĺbku aby hrubovala len do hlbky 30mm.Mám možnosť aktualizovať materiál alebo neaktualizovať. Keď dám aktualizovať tak ďalšia mensia fréza napriklad 20tka bude do hlbky 30 mmm len odoberať zbytky napríklad zmenšovať rádiusy a od hlbky 30 mm bude dalej pokračovať v plnom hrubovaní.
Thanks for sharing, what is the unit you have shaped ?
@@brendancopsey4216 i use 0,01mm and 1° even if i use 0,2mm and 15° i have the same problem. Every time I render even a simple 3D machining, topsolid crashes after 3-5 min.
Hello, please what’s the name or brand of your clam system to the machine table?

@@CncFrezar thanks so much!!
The man is a character from a horror movie. 0:37 s The Last of Us.
horor movie 😁
Great work!
I’d like to know the tool life of hi feed cutter.
Hi. About 3 hours at this cutting speed
Very strange looking part, is that some sort of casting mould? Certainly doesn't look mechanical on it's own.
Yes! Casting mould.
Do you plan for warping due to Internal stress in the material when removing so much mass?
It's just roughing it, so it's cool
Use shims to check
for what ist that cnc-milled block?
it is a mold for aluminum
Are you using dampened holders for the highfeed mills?
Only steel. If the holder is long, then carbide
insane! how long did this take to program?
Programming about 30 minutes, but milling about 2 days
@@CncFrezar Damn that's impressive! Would've taken me hours in Edgecam. Which CAM software do you use?
@@da9elb If you watched the video, you should know that.At the beginning of the video, I run the software. Its name is Cimatron.
What he means is that it took about 30 minutes for an existing program to download to his machine. These type parts are forming or mold dies from some type of large company. Probably automotive. Their programs for these parts are proprietary information so the actual program is coded by the customer. The company paying to have this part made. The cnc operator, not a machinist, downloads this program to run the parts. Then the program is deleted from the cnc equipment. This guy simply downloads the program and sets up the machine with the proper tools then sits and plays Call of Duty all day while it runs. Just think of all the old cars from the ‘50s that had all the cool lines on em. A real machinist had to make the forming dies for those car fenders and hoods on a manual machine. Now those guys were real machinist.
@@martinswiney2192 "A real machinist had to make the forming dies for those car fenders and hoods on a manual machine." 😂If you worked like that today, you wouldn't earn any money. The technology is outdated, which invalidates your statement... :P.
And the CNC-Operator/Machnist not only download the finished programm. You receive the finished CAD model from the customer. You then have to generate your milling strategies in the CAM system. This requires a lot of knowledge...
What type of work holding clamps are those?
upinace.cz
e16....
We still use the e11 version...^^
very old
Money has no religion it itself a religion
Why do they cool with air and not with water?
No water is used for roughing! There would be a thermal shock and the blades would crack
@@CncFrezar But if they used water from the beginning of the roughing, there wouldn't be such a thermal shock, why don't they use water from the beginning? pero si usaran agua desde el inicio del desbaste, no existiria tal choque termico, porque no utilizan agua desde el inicio?
I would like to join with you sir plz
Why did you remove that strip of material? @1:50
It is used for centering from the other side
Is it possible for even the most skilled operator to do that manually?
Everything is possible.
It's all a question of how long it will take. A manual operator can obviously get the cutting head to each point the CNC machine moves it. But it will take a lot longer. And cost a lot more.
I have the feeling youtube randomly unsubscribed me from you
