I think there’s a few I have that have either damaged bodies or somebody has cut their hair off so those will be coming out for this re-do. Give them a new life I think ❤️
So glad I found this, thanks for the tutorial. I found some of my old Bratz dolls but their hairs are chopped off 😅 and I would love to get them back to a condition where I can put on display.
Great Timing! Something I was thinking of doing the next couple of days. You do such a thorough job on your Tutorials. I really appreciate that. ;-) Your doll looks Amazing! Thanks for sharing this information with us.
Awesome 😎 tutorial. I think re-roots are beautiful but very time consuming, I do feel every second is used is worth the outcome. Thank you so much for sharing 😉🤗🥰
since i've started the reroot process, here's my advice (of course, everyone has their own unique way of doing things, this is just how i've been doing it): - when i ordered my reroot tool, it also came with an awl tool, and that widens the plugs so that the needle goes in smoothly, and the plugs soon shrink back afterwards so its not like you're left with tons of gaping holes 😂 - i've already used way too much hair. So if you are new to rerooting, my biggest advice is don't use too much hair!!! you really don't need much. This doll is gonna end up with a really thick hairline and thin everywhere else but hey its all part of the learning process i guess lol - when getting the hair out, i found that for me it was actually much easier to use some tweezers and slowly pull the hair out plug by plug. While it is a much more agonisingly slow process it was easier for me at least. I used everything i could find to get up there and scrape the head but nothing seemed to work, but pulling it out slowly from the outside was the most effective, assuming the hair didn't all rip on its way out (which a couple did lol) anyway, i'm most scared for the part line honestly i feel like its all just gonna rip the scalp 😅 we'll just have to wait and see how i do i guess lol
I will definitely look for that companys hair. Yes i use a diy rooting tool too. You can also make your own out of oven bake clay if you don't have a exacto blade handle. You just add the needle in a shaped clay handle and bake. It's not as great but it works in a pinch. Lol yessss jay...screw drivers are my favorite for this too. Tip: if you let the head sit in very warm water for a little while & it will help make removing the leftovers and glue chunks out. May i ask the difference in nylon and serain. I could never tell... Could you tell by feel?
Thank you Erica, oh the clay is a good idea though and thank you for the hot water tip - nylon hair feels more synthetic than saran and is usually not as soft - the ones I get from The doll hair emporium are really nice quality though - I also think that nylon hair curls better too 🙂🙂
@@JayDollsUK You're so welcome hun. Oh okay, I wasn't sure what kind I've been buying & hopefully i can do a feel test on it. It was cheap so it may be a lower grade but i do like 90s doll hair because it can be colored easy. I use splat to stain the dolls hair 😂 its a hair color for humans but it works great to stain my sink so ....i thought...hmmm lets try barbies hair lol
A great deal of work to reroot hair but she came out beautiful. I don't think my wrists and hands could endure the long time it would take to poke all those strands of hair into the doll head. It's good to learn the steps it takes to reroot hair into a doll head. What's the largest doll head that you have ever rerooted? Take care.
New to rerouting thanks for the video. I have a glue gun could I use that or what’s the best glue to buy? I saw one from usa but too expensive as a UK person time it comes shipping.
There are a few glued you can use but I wouldn’t recommend a glue gun as I tried that once and it melted the dolls neck 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ something like fabric glue or mod podge is what I use 🥰
i really want to get all my old bratz dolls down from the loft and reroot them cause i was a very scissor happy child and i think only one, maybe 2 of them actually have a decent amount of hair left 😂 i think its safe to say i've got my work cut out for me, huh?
Thank you so much for this tutorial 😊 I’m definitely going to try rerooting soon! 💕💕💕💕
Oh I really think you would love it and you would be so good at it too - very welcome 🥰🥰

Oh yes I can’t wait to see 😊😊 I’ve noticed a few lol omg dolls used on eBay too 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you for watching 🥰🥰
oh wow im so glad you did this! I was going to start rerooting a bratz head this week but the hardness scared me 😅😅
Thank you - yes it takes a long time but it’s worth it in the end 🙂🙂

thank you very much Marna, im really pleased with her :)
Thank you! I watched this done before but I thought it was much harder? You gave me the confidence to try! 🌻
Ohh I’m so pleased, it’s not so much hard as tedious - but worth it in the end 🙂🙂
Thank you for this tutorial. You make everything seem so easy. Very time consuming but the result is awesome. Love the hair colour.

Thank you, the biggest I have done is a Disney animator but it took me hours and hours and was really hard to do 🙂🙂
Hi jay, thanks for that it was so helpful an she looked fantastic 😍😍😍😘
Thank you Kar I’m pleased with her 🙂🙂😘😘
Great tutorial! So the boiling water doesn't melt the glue? What brand of glue are you using?
I used hi tack but you can use fabri tack there are a lot of different ones that work but your right it has to be heat resistant 🙂🙂
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏excellent tutorial ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much Marisol 🥰🥰
very helpful thank you
Thank you for watching 🥰
Wow I thought you were sapose to tie the ends on the inside so they don't come loose over time. But you're doll looks so preaty now with pink hair.
Yes that is another way of doing it but I find this way a lot quicker 🙂
@@JayDollsUK oh okay then.
