Saw Buddy Guy last year, here in Melbourne Australia, as he came through on his final world tour. He had two Bassmans on stage (one was probably a backup spare). He had the Bassman cranked right up, his Strat cranked up and he, at 86 years old, cranked to the max. Magic.
It never occurred to me to disconnect the board at the tube sockets. O guess it’s just muscle memory for me to disconnect the front panel at this point. Thanks for the brain boost!
I’m a huge fan of the 59 reissue Bassman. The filtering is a bit stiff compared to the original, but they’re pretty dang close compared to actual amps that left the Fullerton factory in late 1959. These also seem to hold up better than all of the other reissue amps.
Hello Matt. Good to hear from you. Yes, a pretty good sounding amp. Better than the newer Fender's. Still has awful those traces on the board though. Much lighter with the Neo speakers too. Take care. Matt
I my JTM 45 build which has solid state rectification the stand by switch is wired in the HT center tap of the transformer I did not like the switch floating on the HT rail hence the reason for using the center tap. Caps are rated @ 500v of load the HT is about 480v and onload is 440 volts.

Hell Mark. It's a bit of a pain either way to be honest. Not the easiest amp to work on. Take care Mark
Nice playing!

Hello. That's a good balance of reliability. Some good HT voltage there. Must be a great sounding amp. Take care.
Sounds great !!! Any tips on having an option to reduce output volume ? Such as pentode/triode switch or unplugging a speaker or ?
Fabulous sounding amp. The four 10" neo cab sounds great and it's probably a fraction lighter to lug around?
Hello Rob. Good to hear from you again. Yes much lighter with those in. It does sound nice. Take care Rob.
