Totally agree. Inner corner highlight often makes the eyes look more close-set, and puts all the attention in a frequently unflattering area. I've seen Rae morris highlight the inner V with a tiny, thin angled brush. Perhaps that would work because its so close to the waterline. Haven't attempted it.
Hi Mallory 😊👋 I love the way you explain each step why you use certain techniques, it makes it that much easier for us to recreate the look. I'm fair/light cool olive. I'll tend to go for mauves, plums and rosy browns because say I just use a neutral bronzer as a monochromatic look it tends to wash me out. I also like olivish brown eyeshadow s.
Too funny, I felt I had to comment that I never would have thought you had close set eyes, of course others beat me in the comments. I too wondered if I had close set eyes, I read that the distance between the eyes should equal the width of the eye for normally spaced eyes. Turns out I have normal spacing, but I agree those shimmers in the inner corners look weird to and on me. At the risk of creating a stampede on Lush stores, I have to share that their “Wing it” eyeshadow brush is the best thing ever. I love it and I don’t use it for eyeliner, just as an eyeshadow brush.
What's your recommendation for the most bang-for-your-buck brush types? There are so many types and I'm so reluctant to invest in a huge set and then only end up using two or three. I just want the five brushes that will take me the farthest!
Hello gorgeous have you tried morphe brushes? They’re so cheap and you can just buy the few you need! I have some that have lasted me over 10 years- however they are hit or miss with quality 🤔
I would never call your eyes close set. They are too big and the space between your pupils/irises is too far from eachother to call close set. But maybe if you put too much eyeliner in the inner corners your eyes would look slightly close set. Meh... we all have stuff to ''correct''... In other news, I love your tutorials! They are so useful. Quick, just a few products. And everything looks so elegant and just right. Love love love
Girl you barely have any space between the outer edge of your eye and top of your cheekbone your face is balanced. Katie Perry, Miley Cyrus, Ariana grande, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston have close eyes you don’t.

Nice explanation Mallory! 👏🏻

Finally!
🙏🏼 maybe you have a baby wing tutorial but, if not, will you consider doing a short tutorial on how to make it?
