    This lesson is perfect. When I am cooking for instance, I have my headset on and then I first listen to your Persian sentence and then I try to see if I know the English meaning. I can do this over and over again, until I know every sentence.

      The phrase collection videos are without word-for-word explanation because I have already had dedicated lessons on each topic with all details, rules, and explanations. For example, you can watch my two lessons on the past tense in Farsi:

    Hello Majid sir. Please accept my profound thanks for creating such wonderful lessons to make it easy for us to understand the nuances of Farsi language. I’ve a query regarding one of the example in this video…
    خستہ بو دم، فوری خوابم برد… what exactly برد means.???

    Thanks for another GREAT set of phrases to practise with. Number 27 at 7.22' it sounds like you said "Gooshimo dozdidan", which goes with the verb I have 'dozdidan', but you wrote dozidan so first I want to check my spelling. I deleted my 2nd question about this because you already answered it at 7.25' 😂😍 I love how you do that! Also, at 7.46' I was expecting donbaal gashtam. The meaning I have for just 'gashtan' is 'to hang out, to go around'. Would you please clarify? Thanks.

    • @PersianLearning
      @PersianLearning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dozDidan ist correct.
      haha it seems I predict your questions :D
      'gashtan' as you said means to go around, to tour, etc, but the verb phrase 'donbaale STH gashtan' menas to look for sth

    • @anabunana

      @@PersianLearning Thank you! I've gone through all 60 phrases now. I like how you included some which are expressed quite differently to English and others that required some thought around the conceptual meaning in order to find the right words. A couple more questions: 1) no. 50 baazaar khalvat bood is it possible to say baazaar sholooghe nist, or can 'not busy' only be expressed as khalvat? 2) I was told recently to not say someone is lucky in Farsi (like in number 58) because it implies they can also bring bad luck. Maybe the context of your sentence is different, but I would appreciate your input on people being 'lucky' if you can spare the time.

    • @PersianLearning
      @PersianLearning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can also say it was not busy: sholoogh nabood. But the adjective 'khalvat' (which does not have a direct equivalent in English, it is sth like quiet, but in the number of people, or for streets, the number of cars) is a bit more than not busy if you ask me.
      Hmm, interesting, it includes many factors: situation, to whom you speak, about what you speak. If I tell somebody directly you are lucky, of course, it can have negative aspects (it is the same in your culture, I suppose), but imagine we play a game, and I say you are indeed lucky, it is quite ok, isn't it? Or for example, you cross a red light, and I say you were lucky, there was no police officer or camera there to catch you, or you go out in nice weather but you predict it can rain and take your umbrella, and then it rains cats and dogs, I would say SHANS AVORDI that you took your umbrella and many such cases. Normally the phrase Shaans avordi, because it is in the past tense, it refers to a situation, and I think you can know where and to whom it is better not to say that, I think 90% we can say that to our friends. The phrase: kheili khosh shansi (you ARE very lucky) must be used with caution, I think you know what I mean :D
      I hope it can help.

    There are some infelicities with your English, though.
