I miss the days when the announcers didn't have to talk so darn much. I would love some dead air space at least far as they go. The could fill it by upping the volume of the crowds. a few more shots of the cheerleaders instead of replays both would shut them up some.Goes beyond annoying to just plain obnoxious.

its utterly amazing why refs cannot make a call in 15 seconds, tops. watch other sports, notably european ones. i'm watching the Rugby World Cup right now and the referee makes it a point to make a decision as fast as possible. the head ref literally will go to his earpiece while another "replay referee" in the booth will make a judgment call watching the replay and inform the head ref what happened. it literally takes 15 seconds, maximum. sometimes it only takes them 5. no joke. watch it, its a trip. meanwhile, american football referees seem to lack any concept of time or "continuation." thats because the fan in american football comes last and there is zero regard for the integrity of the sport. after all, it gives the network an excuse to take another television timeout and make more profit.

I'm fine with the refs on the field getting info from refs in a booth, but only for accuracy reasons. I can kinda care less about the speed of the call as long as they get it right.
