Just pulled the pin on the exact same one. My only gripe is on the contour version the detent button is black, but on the grip scale version the button is brass. Such a shame because the brass button looks freaking MINT and I can't say I am a fan of the grip scales.
I'm enjoying the return of Elmax. I have a Spyderco Shaman and the OG Reate Exo both in Elmax, and I'd like to see more of it. Same with S90V making a comeback. Also side step a little, but I also like that the owner of Vosteed is always trying to come up with more knife locks and innovations instead of just sticking to titanium framelocks like most companies do these days. Their pivot lock looks pretty promising.
Glad you took the dive into Vosteed land, Jim. I've been appreciating their designs and reviewing them pretty much since their genesis. Great review of one of the few I haven't touched. Strongly suggest getting hands on the new Ankylo Vanchor pivot lock. 👍
They are having QC issues with the Ankylo (detent lash, button sitting too proud and wobbly issues etc.) I’ve had a couple I’ve had to return already also. Hope they shore it up,it’s a cool design
I have the all black textured version, it is awesome! The button could have been a bit more proud, or a cutout to access it better, but otherwise very well executed!

I’m completely burnt out on button locks, but this is one I actually like. I want the non coated version though. I’ve lived tuff knives ever since I saw them years back with the colored flipper hole inserts he had done.
If you haven’t used the Top Liner Lock I highly recommend it. Got a couple button locks and they can’t even dream about having a detent as good as the TLL. You press that lever and it shuts. No weird stick if you don’t press it right it just drops and locks. The detent is spectacular to boot.

Love this one. Just ordered this very one. Have you looked at OneTrack Mind “Ire” or High Grain Knives “Deville”? Strongly considering the Ire (Kunwu OEM) but deffo going to get the Deville. I’d be curious to hear if either of them float your boat

I think it’s steel because the website says so. Look under the “specifications” section. It says “Button Material: Stainless Steel”
Vosteed can call it a "top liner lock" all they want. I'm gonna call it a spinerlock.
