Compare that welcome to a cruise port in Mexico or the Caribbean. I will be stopping there on a cruise next month. I assume the locals are probably tired of cruise ship visitors by now, so I don't expect that kind of welcome, but I am sure I will enjoy it.
We just left Miyako on Silver Muse. I was blown away by the warmth and hospitality shown by the locals.
