    What type of rim do you have on your tank and more importantly which one do you want on it?

    Ah, I never thought of the possibility to add Eurobrace to a tank already running, big thanks! The no. 1 reason to add Eurobrace in my opinion is the safetyfactor👍 I have several tanks, and yes, the ones with Eurobrace can be a real pain to maintain at times. But I'll take that over sleepless nights for sure😁
    Greetings from Norway, and keep those videos coming 😊👍

    1:38 Innovative Marine and Waterbox have eurobracing on their very largest tanks, the ones over 200g in size.
    My previous tank was rimless. Liked it, got an acrylic lid with a full frame. It was all clear acylic with clear mesh, had minimal to no impact on the aesthetics due to being reasonably thin and blending with the glass. Without the silicone seam to give a boarder that eurobracing does, it's not as visually distracting. Measured properly, there's also very, very little gaps between the lid and the rim for fish to get out.
    I got eurobracing on my current tank because I wanted it for the splash protection and because it's a 300g custom monster. No way around that that I wanted to risk. Got lids with a skeletonized frame this time and wish I had done that the first time around. A full frame gathers condensation like a eurobrace does, no such issue with a sleketonized one. I also really like the eurobracing because I don't have to worry about splashes from my Tunze magnet scraper going over the side.

    I want to get into reefing, but I have no rome in my living room I have 4 tanks as it is. My 4th tank is going to be a brackish tank. If I am going to get a 5th tank I might get rid of my big tv and cable box and other things and it might be a 40 breeder and start out as a FO tank.

    • @Baka_Mop
      @Baka_Mop ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I say forget the brackish tank and go big on the reef tank as your 4th tank. 90+ gallons, maybe 125-150, because from my experience, if you start out with a nano reef tank, you're going to wish you'd gone bigger. 125g+ gives you pretty much the full range of livestock choices for your tank and a bigger buffer for mistakes.
      I've only ever done small nano tanks because I didn't have much room or money when I started, but I've always wanted to keep fish like tangs, angels, and triggerfish. I'm planning to get a 125 or 150 in the near future, and I'm going all out this time. I'll get all the top of the line equipment and get all the gear I need all at once, so I won't have to keep buying new equipment all the time.

    The water pressure on the walls is actually only dependent on the water height. No matter how wide or long the tank is, even if it's a whole ocean.
    EDIT (1 month after posting, because I thought I deleted my first explanation wich, after many words, only led to the same conclusion, namely bigger tanks need bigger glass and I didn't want to be an unnecessary smart alec but then it seems that I made a post and only trashed my lenghty edit of it, which makes it wore, because for 1 month there was standing a technically correct sentence here but without any real context. *gasps for air* so now the following):
    However, the *force* exerted on the glas panes is derived from pressure * area, so this means two things. The glued bonds between the panes need to have more area to be stronger and, because they are further apart, the glass needs to be stronger due to deflection. Sooo, over all it's just like everyone says and I was riding an a syntactic technicality to call it force instead of pressure.
    Cheers.

    Rimless is a goofy gimmick...you have to put one of those ugly nets over it to keep fish in, and if it is in your living space, the lights shine in your eyes when you are watching tv...a eurobraced tank with either lights recessed in a floating canopy, or a full canopy are the way to go...The one piece eurobrace if it is floating looks awesome...if people look at your system and are drawn to the equipment and not the livestock, you are doing it wrong...
