I know right? I always thought those were just rythmic downstrokes
On live performances Fred would manually down stroke the part. It's a delay on the album version. When the band plays live, sometimes they would play a little faster and the delay would not be in sync, that's why it's different live.

Technically the original gang is back together. Taking Back Sunday’s first album doesn’t have Fred or Matt, it has Shaun and John. Eddie left the band, but otherwise it’s 4/5 of the original members. Fred wasn’t an original (although he was great on Where You Want To Be).
Funeral For A Friend for back together for some charity gigs in 2019 and it was glorious. I swear Taking Back Sunday could sell out a small tour easily still. All us middle aged slightly chubby emo kids have the disposable income for it now! 😂
@@kylewolfe2256 technically they're not the original members except for John nolan. Their was another singer, bass was played by jessie Lacey of brand new, Eddie Reyes and a different dummer.

The only era of Taking Back Sunday where I was a fervent follower was during the Fred Mascherino days. Learned to play guitar to all the songs you were on. It’s safe to say that I can speak for the vast majority of fans who would say we miss you man!

This is correct! Louder Now is the album I go to all the time for no reason. Just to jam. And it’s mostly in part to to Mr. Mascherino.. and Mark O’Connell haha I be not but a humble drummer!

Where You Want To Be is still one of my roughly 20 favorite albums ever. Not because it was the most technical or most revolutionary, but because it defines an era of my life. Definitely a nostalgia moment every time I listen to it. The good old days, 14 years old and not a worry in the world, now I got those damn responsibilities.

One of my comfort songs, I remember watching you guys perform it on Launch when it still existed and fell in love and a year later I'd end up in foster care and group homes and we were never allowed to have stereos or cds and I managed to sneak an alarm clock with a radio and tuned it to the college radio and put it under my pillow and you guys were preforming a concert and this song came on. Ugh that was like 2002, I must've been 11, almost 29 now and still jamming. Love yall, you really helped a lotta folks with your music. ❤
