Best hand held scanner I've ever owned. Wishing it was the pro-95 but we sometimes don't get everything we want in life. Nice vid , it hurts my feelings that such treasures as these are offten treated as worthless.
@ColonelAngus75 It's intended for fire, EMS, HAM radios, CBs, weather radios, marine radios, and "trunks" (even though I own a scanner, I still have no clue what those are).
2:16 Tornado Warning 2:40 Stand By For Important Weather Radio. 4:46 Flash Flood Warning. 5:09 Stand By For Important Weather Radio. 6:45 Tornado Warning. 7:08 Stand By For Important Weather information.
I remember sitting at my house in anderson sc watching the trees swirling outside my house and lightning striking every few seconds. And after the issued one warning, my two weather radios would go off again. My dad works in Clemson and was watching that tornado in clemson. It was scary but quite interesting.
If this was transmitted over television, you would have seen the following text crawl at the top of your screen: "The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for Abbeville, SC, Anderson, SC, and Greenville SC beginning at 3:23 pm and ending at 4:08 pm (KGSP/NWS)"
OK good.I was thinking of getting a scanner because i already have two...But there not very portable...and also cause I travel a lot ,and it seems every time i do there's some bad weather...Thanks for info!
Wow, it’s one thing to watch this video all this time later, but if I had been there that day listening to all this, I would’ve been terrified. I hate tornadoes! I live in the Midwest so we have to live with them some, but to have almost every warning be a tornado warning! I would have lost it lol.
Hey, does anyone know about a female Imperfect Paul voice? The only time I've heard it was at night for the current time in Randallstown, MD. It was a lot like the "long lost video" that comes up first in searches, but female and a lot more "garbled" sounding.
1st alert: 2:16 Tornado Warning 2nd alert: 4:39 Tornado Watch 3rd alert: 4:47 Flash Flood Warning 4th alert: 6:44 Tornado Warning (2) BACK TO BACK 5th alert: 8:38 Tornado Warning (3) Dang.. Why no SVR's But 5 alerts wow! In March I had like ongoing 20-25 alerts from my weatherbug, My area had a record of 12 ALERTS! :)
Was it normal for NOAA to use Perfect Paul/Huge Harry as the voice for the station identifications or was this just a special circumstance due to severe weather?
The four stations I receive in my area all used Perfect Paul for the current time and station ID announcements. They had to "retire" him though after switching to the new Paul voice.
Oh, So it can pick up different frequencies depending on its potential?(weather,EMS etc.)and from all around the world/country? also another question,Is a weather scanner only for certain people ,or is it for everyone that constantly travels?
This is probably the most nostalgic NOAA Weather radio related video, considering it was one of the first I watched back in 2009-2010.

To be honest that whole voice scares me. It could be something good, and I would still be freaked out.
the national weather service has issued so many tornado warnings for lots of county's wow !!!
all those voices would freak me out if there was an emergency lol

Anybody know a weather channel i could tune into in the UK?
2:17 Warning gets interrupted by a Warning LOL
2:17
did you have a tornado in the area.
It looks like a calculator from a distance.
On the Roeper & Ebert scale, It's two thumbs up for this video!
does your scanner have skywarn? all scanners should have skywarn channle
at 2:40, the guy sounds like stephen hawking!
Is a scanner the same thing as a normal weather radio?
Scanners monitor *most* radio frequencies, while weather radios only monitor weather frequencies.
Oh, So it can pick up different frequencies depending on its potential?(weather,EMS etc.)and from all around the world/country?
also another question,Is a weather scanner only for certain people ,or is it for everyone that constantly travels?
I like how right when hes about to reapeat, he gets interrupted, at ~2:16
