The Chinese demanded it, FB, google etc to move their data to China and obeyed Chinese law, those companies refused, not saying it was a bad thing to do. Yahoo and Bing ( from Microsoft ) still running in China because they did what the government required. TikTok obeys the law in the US and moved their data to the US, and other requirements the US government wanted them to do. They did all of those things but still got banned. so it is a different story
