The price is not just for the paper it's on but the time and effort that goes into drafting clear and concise instructions so we can duplicate the garment/item in various sizes.

People just love to complain about something! I know there is a lot of hard work that knitwear designers put in to make their designs/patterns, so it’s never bothered me when I’m buying a pattern. Anyways I’m excited for your sister’s designs 🤭🧡!!

My wish is to publish children knitting patterns and I am working for months to release 3 patterns. The time I spent frogging and doing math again and again, the anxiety I feel thinking nobody will like my work... all kind of insecurities. You really need to love knitting at another level to design.
Am I dreaming of selling baby patterns enough to help my familly income? Yes, I do, but the reallity is that I don't believe this will ever happen for me.
Still, as a stay at home mom with an autistic child, knitting is my dearest compagnion! ❤
I also knit for myself from time to time, I wish I could knit more for me but I have an inexistent budget for yarn for myself, actually I can affort a sweater quantity ever 3-4 months. But it is ok for me as long as I manage to do a couple of things each year.

I hope the people that complain about pricing know they don’t have to buy the pattern. I crochet and have recently started writing my own patterns for different sized clothing and it is WORK. Take my money!

Girl I'm still out here with my iphone 8. I have a twin too and when we are talking I have to tell them to stop yelling. I have the opposite happen to me, I knit pretty much only cotton and all my favorite yarns get discontinued or stores stop carrying them. Norwegian purling is the best especially for ribbing, you don't have to move your yarn back and forth. As a designer myself I struggle with pricing my patterns for $10 because I struggle to see my worth. I have two patterns and I haven't even broke even on the cost of yarn. I even struggle calling myself a deisgner. I say this as I was working on another design that I'm actually excited about.

I have not bought patterns in the past because of the price but I´m not complaining because I am aware that a lot of work and calculation goes into drafting a pattern and there are tons of patterns that are within my price class. I also won´t be the person who tells independent small designers to charge too little for their work because I don´t like that capitalist mentality of shitting on small people.
Anyways, I have been working on my Arctic Light Sweater by kutovakika during this video. The yarns I´m using are Drops Karisma and Kid Silk in two different shades of blue and it´s turning out so pretty! Actually, it was you, your sisters and Alexandra who inspired me to look at the pattern and make the decision to knit it up. It´s my first cabled sweater and an absolute joy to work on. It´s been 3 days of knitting and it hasn´t been boring for even a second. Highly recommend any advanced knitter to give this a try!

I ordered the sewella Tunisian crochet hooks on 9.15; for the cost I was shocked I had to pay shipping $8.95; but after a week I just got an update that I will receive my order on 9.27; to me that’s a long wait for the price, Nordstrom and LV ships faster.
I haven’t heard anything bad about the hooks but this is good to know about the knitting needles. I will still use them but those are my cons right now.

I’m still using my iPhone XS Max lol. I hate buying new devices. I used my 2012 MacBook Pro way too long. 😂 I got a new one in 2019 and will probably use it until it dies too. 😅

I'm shocked at the needles, that should not happen!! I hope they replace them, maybe she just got a bad set? If she gets another one and it does the same thing, that's bad quality. I loved all the guests!!! 😂

About the Sewrella needles: Same thing happened to my Zing aluminum needles. Those are also by Knitter’s Pride. Maybe it’s a flaw with Knitter’s Pride aluminum needles… just that the Zing needles didn’t cost as much.

I’m working on my arctic light sweater by kutovakika, I saw her video yesterday and saw she was pregnant too I said awwwww!! I’m 7months pregnant rn so she’s 3 months behind me timeline wise. So cute!
Then you talking about pricing… chileeeeeeeeee. I honestly feel like patterns and yarns price point and price expectation should swap. Like how is it that you’re paying $10/skein (or hank that YOU HAVE TO WIND UP TO EVEN WORK WITH IT) and you’re buying 100s of grams to make a garment, but the instructions to make that garment should be less that the yarn? No. I really think patterns should start at like $30 for garments.. really more. And the intricacies make them more expensive. Color work, with cables, and raglan, etc., yeah $60+. However, I think a lot of ppl in the knitting community are either bullies (in a peer pressure type of way) or they are very timid. Very few like you, (and myself, although I’m just really getting into my knitting bag fr now) are outspoken. So the pricing expectations are not going to change anytime soon lol
