Just wanted to add to the EU cheater situation. EU actually had a cheater in the top 5 but i just got a message that he has been banned so he probably already got removed when you recorded the video.
I think unfortunately the tournament being moved to round 1 and 2 same day is what caused the cheating issue primarily. Epic created this whole format to try and give more opportunities/space for banning cheaters… but then their tournament didn’t actually run when they scheduled it and they rescheduled for back to back on the weekend when less employees work.
So glad I am grinding cups to play division 3 just for cheaters to still be in the games. Lazy effort from epic to fight cheaters unless they start adding man power and ensuring opens and finals are different days.
I don’t know why Fortnite doesn’t use a better anticheat, a cheater added me in a tournament for a tiktok or smth but he let me talk to him after he killed me and he said you have to delete valorant to use Fortnite cheats because just running the Fortnite ones will get you banned off val. The fact that this is a thing and Fortnite still has rampant cheating is insane. If you care about looking into this valorant uses a “kernel level” anti cheat which is very invasive on your pc and can detect pretty much anything, it’s a little more resource intensive so I think having it only apply to tournaments would be perfect, and if it’s not in the normal game cheat developers won’t be able to test their cheats 24/7 and won’t be able to perfect them as much
The difference is that valorant has 10 times less players, to use an invasive anti cheat would mean that a lot of the processing would go in that. In other words sacrificing the gameplay and efficiency.
Kernel anti cheat is controversial asf epic just needs to watch their own tourneys and hand out bans there is always a way around anti cheat also dma makes it so anti cheat doesn’t matter
I was at first annoyed about the 14 tourney rule cause it meant I couldn’t play for a bit but I accepted it knowing it would get rid of cheaters but thinking about with the increased prize why did we think with a 5k prize pool cheaters just wouldn’t play 14 tourneyments
Cheaters ruined fortnite for me I quit playing competitive a few seasons ago. Also why does epic buff aim assist when they have a huge cheating problem? R.I.P fortnite …I can’t even play fncs if i wanted too because I haven’t been playing tournaments…eventually it’s all gonna be the same people which is boring and sad…I still get diamond on ranked and enjoy playing casually but overall I die to a cheater or overpowered aim assist almost every game it’s pretty sad

I feel like the 14 tournament thing might kill comp. It feels like a bandaid issue cheaters can queue up a 100 accounts in a day so in a few weeks it’s gonna all be cheaters again. So many casual comp players don’t feel like or don’t have time to queue into 14 useless tournaments i think it’s gonna kill competitive. Even if it does stop cheaters does it matter for a large drop in player base it’ll kill the prize pool
