Rabbits can learn up to 30 different commands. I know he hates to be picked up BUT you really need to pick him up more often. For what seems the longest time, he will run away from you more. Do not yield. He may get worse before he gets better. I adopted a neutered 1 year old very dominant American Sable (American Sable = ADHD bunny). He hated being picked up. With him I picked him up, held him like a baby and gently massaged his back, neck and ears until he relaxed. Once he relaxed, I gently placed him on the floor with a treat from my pocket. I did this for what seemed like a year. We have had him for 5 years (6 years old) and he loves being picked up and cuddled like a baby. No chasing at all, in fact, he runs up to us for lovens all the time and we can easily pick him up.
Pigpoke may be a bit of a drama queen, but he sure is adorable. It does seem as though he may be ready to break through to fully trusting you! He's come a long way. 🥰
I see a great deal of improvement with Pigpoke. He did try to evade capture, but he didn't seem stressed or frightened by you trying to catch him. Looks like he also took being picked up without getting his knickers in a twist. I think the important thing is to keep calm and pick him up often so that he learns it's no big deal. Also, put him in his carry case every so often, maybe with a favorite snack, so that it is no longer a source of fear. You might also try putting a snack in the carrier and leaving it open near his hidey hole. That way he could go in and out as he pleased. But, all in all I think you two are doing a great job with Pigpoke.
The body language and look on Pigpoke's face (AKA shock) once in human arms just rolls me. That look says a thousand words as the saying goes. You guys are so patient and do such a great job with him.
I saw a TV show about rabbits. The hunter put the rifle down the bunny hole. Rabbit tied it in knot. Hunter pulled trigger and gun exploded in hunter's face. So rabbits can be very clever.

My bunny goes in the carrier all by themself! He's so cute. Rabbits are smart! They can smell your intentions, I found the best way is to ignore the animal. They want your attention, it takes a lot of patience but does work eventually.
My trick is to put the carrier down. Put a blanket or towel that my bunny Niles was using inside and another over the sides so it’s nice and dark. Sprinkle pellets in the back (anything else he just snatches and runs) and just walk away. I come back and he is laying down inside cuz he thinks it’s a new hidey hole. 😉
I thought you did that on purpose, so if you hadn't said anything I'd have thought it was funny! Excellent! You are an expert bunny picker upper! Oreo is not a chewer, but our others would have had those cords in several pieces long ago! And the under side of the sofa shredded! (Mostly the girls, to make nests they'd not use.) LOL! I'm glad Oreo is totally free roam. Bunners could have been free roam, and was his first year. Then we got his **bun-wife**, Nutmeg, and it was kitchen confinement when we weren't supervisor parenting. Pigpoke is adorable! He's so tiny! Oreo tops his weight by 2X. I can't carry him anymore!! Even my local wild Florida hares are smart - one night it was raining hard, and I discovered they moved from the backyard grassy area, to under the eave over my lanai. Couple times a week I'll toss out a small piece of carrot, some cucumber, bell pepper for them to enjoy. I love bunnies.

Oh that captured bun face! They are psychic. Hate to break it to you, but a cardboard box and a pillow are no match for the mighty Beast. Out Dutch moves the whole of her 4 or 5 ft diameter xpen across the rug when she is angry she has not gotten food on her schedule. My husband can hear her move it through the adjoining bedroom wall🙄 We never knew a small rabbit could push something that it is hard for me to lift. The xpen is a 4=foot high one, too. We tried a 3- ft high one, but she would fling herself up and try to scale it. We taped cardboard pieces on top. She almost got stuck up there once. We decided 6 ft high might deter her. Well, she stopped trying to jump over, but she still can push.
Honestly I’ve had problems with my Momiji sometimes manages to unbolt his litter pan. He kinda scoops underneath and he knows how to get it off. Little smarty pants. But yes he can also clear 4 ft easily
They could invent a special carrier for rabbits. Hey Erick! Thanks for asking! A couple reasons! Pipkin chose the price, so we're attached to it. Value is pretty subjective, so maybe whoever buys them will want to come hang out or something and we can go on an epic adventure and provide way OVER $100,000.00 in value. Also, Pigpoke is sick of working for the man and that would let him do what he wants, when he wants. P. S. We can send you a 5% off coupon if you're interested in purchasing the socks. :D

I have a Dutch too! His name is Momiji! I’ve never had a problem with him letting me pick him up to put him in his cage. He isn’t a house rabbit and was already trained as a show rabbit before I got him. Honestly I don’t really hold him because he doesn’t really like being held. Normally he only runs away when he knows its time to go back in his cage so he’s just playing with me. I have a pen so he doesn’t have anything to hide under. I’d say if you can try boarding any furniture gaps so he can’t crawl underneath. Also don’t shout when trying to calm your bunny down
Pet rabbits will gnaw on plugged-in electrical wires. Yet, they are smart enough to evade us for grooming and trips to the vet. And when our Bun wants fresh greens (as opposed to hour-old greens…….) he will stare at me with his nose twitching UNTIL he is fed.
@2:12 hahaha!! We all knew THAT wasn’t gonna happen. Oh man…😂 Holy carp…he won’t even accept a strawberry placed under his schnoz. Trust has been broken…. It’s gonna take a lot to build it back up. Me thinks you may have to wait a long while….at least 90 seconds - before the power of the strawb will prove too much.
Ray! He FIGHTS being picked up, but is minding it less and less when it actually happens! Hopefully that's progress! Thanks so much for commenting and your support! Have an awesome weekend!! :D
I completely understand been there many times. They are so smart. My girl had an area like that I couldn't reach her under my dresser. Would have to block access to that area a few hours before the capture . Keep up the good work!

Oh that thousand yard stare. Great outro too😂
Buckeye was just like Pigpoke. He never liked getting picked up. Now for your situation you should've just not acknowledged him when you put the box up. I did something similar like that with Buckeye and he hopped right into the carry on cage.
Ooh 2 after the credits shots 👏👏👏 06:27 how did you find that... it was perfect! 🤣
A damned sight smarter than most humans, especially our leaders
I can answer the question. Bunnies are smart and in the case of mine he’d never fall for the same thing twice
That Waskally, Wabbit! 😅💙
Rabbits are smart enough to know when you're up to something.
I am on to all your hooman machinations!! Foiled again!!
Pigpoke, you naughty boy. You guys did great getting him. I do the scoop up method quickly. That seems to work for me. Your video was just fine.
Hey Patricia! Glad to hear the scoop up quickly method works. That's where we'd like to get to. Maybe with him naturally mellowing out or getting used to it a bit more, we'll be there. Thanks so much! Have a great weekend! :D
@@OneMorePlease he will. It does take time and patience. Thank you. I am going on a beach vacation with family. I am excited, my next door neighbor will take care of Cookie and Moonpie while I am gone. 🤗
@@patriciairby7438 That sounds like an awesome time at the beach! Have a most glorious adventure!Give our best to Moonpie and Cookie! :D
@@OneMorePlease I will do that. 🥰
Pigpoke is a very lucky rabbit. You do a great job free roaming him and showing how to deal with a timid rabbit.
I've been meaning to ask. Why are pipkin socks $100,000? I know they are cute but dont you think that is a little overpriced?
@@OneMorePlease Very adorable story. While I appreciate the coupon, think $95,000 is still a bit out of my range
Pigpoke is just like my Bunny. Last month he was died due to an infection in his mouth. I really miss my Bunny. Pigpoke is really adorable. I appreciate him
My bunny Tosul is really a ghost, too. Even if they are enticed by snacks, they put up with snacks as if they would never fit into the cage. ☺
'Show Pigpoke in his usual spot."
*There I was, Combat Bun First Class, sitting in my bunker watching the hyoomons wander around. Suddenly they aimed a camera at me!*
Why the rabbit still small but he should be bigger for years???
Gotta make the herding piece sturdier, because PigPoke is MightyBun! 😁😁
Vocês tentaram cobrir ele com um cobertor e assim o pegar?
conejo muy listo jajaja....😄😄😄🐇🐇🐇🐇❤❤❤😘😘😘
Rabbits are very smart and very dangerous as shown in Monty Python
I noticed a "studio" type light with a barn door on it. What do you use for lighting equipment?
Just a cheap one we got on Amazon :D
Who needs a workout routine when you have The Pigpoke Capture Exercise Program! Haha!!
Also don’t shout when trying to calm your bunny down
We had a king of king rabbits named twitch who was king of the universe like Yurrtle the turtle. Just like pickpoke!
He looks terrified when he is being held.
Oh man…😂
Holy carp…he won’t even accept a strawberry placed under his schnoz. Trust has been broken…. It’s gonna take a lot to build it back up. Me thinks you may have to wait a long while….at least 90 seconds - before the power of the strawb will prove too much.
I can always catch my rabbit when his head is buried in a bag of Vitakraft rings
I guess he’s too smart for putting his favorite food inside the carrier
When you pick him up, OMG those little eyes and the ears just lay back and sometimes one will stick up while the other stays down. So CUTE 😍 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰🐰
Ray! He FIGHTS being picked up, but is minding it less and less when it actually happens! Hopefully that's progress! Thanks so much for commenting and your support! Have an awesome weekend!! :D
And additionally rabbits are more cute and lovely ❤️🐇❤️👍
I completely understand been there many times. They are so smart. My girl had an area like that I couldn't reach her under my dresser. Would have to block access to that area a few hours before the capture . Keep up the good work!
He’s listening to you make your plans with those giant ears 😂😂😂🐇
"I'm a wascally wabbit!"

Good quote, Bubba! Thanks so much for stopping by! :D
@@OneMorePlease Thank you and I'm always happy to stop by the latest Pigpoke masterpiece! 😄
Love ya Pigpoke. Just wanted to let you know that I am monthly supporter of WWF.
We love you, Barbara! WWF supporters unite! :D
I want a rabbit so badly
We would like a skunk
@@OneMorePlease same
I’m sure rabbits are smarter than people… they manage to get people to spoil them! It would be hard to not underestimate the beast. 😂😂😂
Haha! Aliens would definitely think the buns are in charge :D
@@OneMorePlease and maybe they’d be correct!
Things to never ask a rabbit:
1. Age
2. Weight
3. I.Q.
Your strawberry put him on high alert! Refused to be lulled into a new reality.
