Thank you so much for making this review! Besides Dean, you're literally the only other person to do one. Damn shame the TH-cam community doesn't give love to all these beloved characters that aren't disney properties. High Plains Drifter is my favourite, but Unforgiven is objectively the best western of all time.
Unforgiven definatly top 3. I do love the outlaw Josey Wales. He's more human in that one rather than a silent stranger. The bit of comedy in it with the Native guy was different from his usual westerns. But as for epic Westerns I think you may be on point for Unforgiven being #1. My main goal in collecting is nostalgia and acquiring figures that mean something to me and give me fond memories of days long past, so iconic characters are my thing. 80's 90s, mostly anything that provokes my nostalgia. ✌️
@figureitout-em4sn Exactly the same here. I'm 44, so all these movies from the '60s, '70s, and beyond is what I grew up on. And definitely feel like movies from the '80s and '90s are the best...but I'm biased. I felt a little sad for that dog that kept getting spit on by Josey...it was funny though. And that American Indian guy in it (can't remember his name)...man he was a great actor. It's as if he wasn't even acting, like being an authentic version of himself.
I had a feeling we were close in age. I think you have to be of a certain vintage to be interested in the classic iconic characters that are not Marvel or Disney.
Since hollywood is all about doing prequels and such, it'd be a cool concept to do one of Unforgiven. To have a young William and Ned doing all the horrendous things they did. But who in this day and age could pull off a young version of Clint and Morgan...
Have you ever considered the 3rd party head sculpt for the man with no name? It was available on One Sixth Kit a couple years ago. I have it on a Redman toys figure body and I think it’s better than the Sideshow version. It was called The Good custom sculpt.
18:35 I had no idea the Harry head sculpts were different. I was for certain they were exactly the same. I passed on that release 'cause I have the Redman Toys one, and like its uniqueness with being the only Clint figure that's not squinting. The tailoring on the jacket though is trash. Been thinking about ordering the Sideshow re-release. I've sold off all my Redman Clint figures except them and the Stranger from High Plains Drifter. It's looking more and more likely they won't be doing that character 'cause of the town whore introduction scene. The problem with displaying those two next to all these guys is they're super short by comparison; and with the head and neck being a solid piece, I can't just buy the Sideshow bodies to switch out. And I don't think ankle peg extenders will do the job; so if you have any good suggestions for a tall slender (neck-less) body, that'd be awesome.
Just started the video, so not sure yet if you'll mention this: The (negative) thing that stands out the most is the really light lookin' silver metallic eyes. They don't match Eastwood, and don't even match the previous five Sideshow Clint figures. Must've been some error with the factory that didn't get fixed in time.
Hey, Thanks for watching the Video. Where do i start 😆. The two Dirty Harry sculpts are identical. ( not explained very well in the video ) However, they are painted by two very different artists with very different levels of skill, the Variant ( brown suit) is far superior. I have just started recording a video on the two of them and a comparison, which I will post either tomorrow or the next day. Honestly, I steered clear of the Redman they are just not close enough for me, although I did almost got the stranger like you. I don't believe we will see it from SS. I do hope we get more iconic characters as Clint has so many more to tackle if SS continues with the line. Each day I pray for a Kelly's hero Clint 🙏 . In regard to the body, I think it's trial and error tbh. I am going to dig into my spare body box in the morning and see if I can find something that matches the sideshow body. If i figure something out, i will surely let you know. I've never considered a prequel to Unforgiven, but that would be awesome. My mind is casting the characters already 😆 Scott eastwood for William munny 💯 but who would be a good young Ned? With the studio light catching the gloss on the eyes, i can see what you are saying about the eyes, but in person, they are closer to a match with the other figures. Again, thanks for the support ✌️
@@figureitout-em4sn Oh okay, so they're different based on the paint. I'll definitely watch that video when you post it. I mean I was thinking about Scott, but not sure if he could pull off the ruthlessness - then again I haven't seen him in a lot of stuff. And yes, so many other characters like Kelly, Clint from Where Eagles Dare, and Joe Kidd that need to get made. With the light metallic silver looking eyes, I'm referring to my copy. From the first pics online to getting it in hand, they look practically like light silver ball bearings lol. Definitely nice you see them differently, and with no one else mentioning this, perhaps I'm the only one.
@@figureitout-em4sn Yeah lol, dude's more like a pretty boy 'bro' type. Clint was a huge sex symbol, but never gave off the "I'm such a pretty bird" vibes. Didn't really know about that other guy, but see they used to play American football and is Denzel's son. What about Wiz Khalifa? Machine Gun Kelly, a face tatted up rapper was able to pull off playing Tommy Lee - so maybe this fella could pull off Ned. I just can't find anyone that could pull off Clint. But just realized this wouldn't have to be them super young - just before William met his wife and had the kids. So with that, Hugh Jackman absolutely would be the best option. I remember really noticing the homage to Clint in the beginning of The Wolverine.
@Chalor. ooh Hugh would be great actually, he's got the height, ruggedness, and attitude. Couldn't go too far back if they used Hugh given his age. Haven't seen any of MGK acting, so I can't comment. btw the Dirty Harry Video i was to post will be delayed for a few days. I went on a city break for the weekend, so I'll post it next week. ✌️
That’s nothing new for Sideshow. Their bases have been the same black hexagon for years. Even with the figure’s theme or name on the bottom. I just don’t understand why. Sideshow’s statues are good, their 1/6 figures aren’t great in my opinion especially the head sculpts.

His son Scott

I know what you mean about Scott. He's a bit of a jock than a grunt. John David Washington for young Ned?
