I appreciate the efforts that you put in the making of the video. I have a Dodge Journey 3.6. It is making an abnormal noise when the engine is idling. I can't figure if the noise is from engine or transmission. And, the vehicle is not moving even if gear is in D.
Hey question ? When draining transmission pan does it empty entire transmission and trans components to where u can just add new fluid to the cars manual as suggested? Or should u still be cautious and check levels with the dipstick when re filling
No just draining from the pan only gets maybe 50-65% of the fluid out. So that is why you need to go off the dipstick. Another thing you could do is measure how much came out and then add the exact same amount in.
Is there a pan you can get with a drain plug like I did on my 95 zj? I'm about to take my 3.6 2018 awd journey in for 60k (m at 65k now)service (just cause Temps just hit 30s). Was only going to do transfer case and rear diff. I'll do trans myself in the spring.
Are you talking about the magnet in the pan? If so it’s already in there you just need to pull it off and clean it up and stick it back in the same place.
I have 150k on my 2013 rt and when I hit 40mph I can floor it and not get much accel, but it is still peppy until then. Think this change could help me out before I spend the $ on doing it?
Thank you. You don’t have to use a torque wrench you can just tighten them by hand with a socket wrench and shouldn’t have any issues. You also may be able to do this without jacking it up if you have enough ground clearance.
I have a 2012 dodge journey crew and everytime the air compressor or aeem like fan in winter i get a Battery saver mode that will come up under messages and i will shut my radio off sometimes also... Any ideas Thanks so much
Would a transmission filter and fluid change help a Journey 3.6 with low line pressure (P0868) and prolonged high pressure (P1745)? Also, currently in limp mode as well.
How old it the transmission and how many miles is on it? Have you noticed any drips on the ground or signs that it’s leaking? When was the last time the fluid and filter was replaced? Does yours have the dipstick to where you can check the level? A filter and fluid change is probably where I would start if your fluid level is good that will be your cheapest option at the moment. I’m wandering if your filter screen is clogged creating low pressure. If not you may have an issue with the pump.

Could be that your transmission fluid is low or transmission fluid is old and needs replaced. How many miles is on the car? What is the transmission fluid temperature running at? Do you notice any fluid leaks around the transmission?
@@Nancy-bw6te I would definitely check your transmission fluid in case it’s overheating but to do that you’ll have to take it to the dealer or purchase the aftermarket dipstick and follow the video I did on how to use it. You may want to also look at your rear differential if it’s an awd model to make sure it’s not leaking any gear oil because I’ve seen where the rear end looses fluid and then overheats making the rear end lock up not allowing the vehicle to move.
