My wife has a 2010 with 179k on it the only problems we've had have been self inflicted its been a really good car I don't care much for the lack of power the v6 has (I'm used to v8) but I wouldn't personally want to trade it for anything lots of room for the 2 kids and drives perfect after 179k miles

Owned 2013 dodge journey awd crew. 135k miles, no issues, just basic oil changes plus air filter, one transmission fluid/filter change at 100k, and one time brake pad changes all corners. I do drive conservatively probably why the Journey served me well and gotten me and family all around the states. If you treat your car well it will treat you well. My take. 😎👍

I can see what Dodge was trying to accomplish with the Journey. They wanted to provide a vehicle for budget conscious SUV buyers. I think its a great looking SUV. Having not changed the vehicle much in almost 10 years, parts should be cheap and plentiful.

We have an 18 crossroads with the 19in black rims and we really like it. It IS super underpowered because we specifically requested the 4 cylinder, I'm a mechanic and that engine is as easy to work on as 90's Hondas were, but we definitely lack get up and go, lol. But for the price, we got a fully loaded black leather nice entertainment system an 7 seat capabilities. Literally just got back from a 2600 mile road trip and it worked great. Having worked for multiple dealerships, there isn't a better cost to feature vehicle out there in the price range.

I am a retired mechanic and got a used 15 Journey (144K miles). I was driving a 92 Plymouth Voyager mini van (192K) when finally the transmission needed some work so I parked it for a while and got the 15 Journey with 2.4 L, (144 CI) 4 speed auto driveline and so far I like it a lot. Yes it is a bit underpowered but not noticeable in town. I have seen 29 mpg on the hi way. Getting on the ramp is where you notice the lack of power (used to a 3.3 V6) but the fix is to apply more throttle lol. This vehicle is very comfortable and fun to drive despite being under powered. The mpg makes up for it and that is what I wanted from the SUV. The engine is quite small @ 144CI but is serviceable and fixable and has good reliability potential based on how you drive it. Not a hot rod so drive it for what it is, economical transport.

I own a 13 journey v6. I strongly recommend Raysbestos brake combos off RockAuto. Nice touchy brakes. The rotors are coated for rust prevention. You also don't need to use brake clean to prep rotors. It's important to sand rust away under caliper hardware to restore the tolerance required to allow pads to slide back off rotors upon release. This the most common cause of premature brake failure.... pads don't have clearance to freely slide in the caliper bracket. Techs don't have great attention to this detail and are paid more for quantity than quality.

Even with all the so called flaws, the Dodge Journey and Grand Caravan were still doing well in sales. And both vehicles were only 12% away from being responsible for almost 50% of Dodge sales regardless. Newsflash: If a vehicle is on the market for 9 seasons, it's a success.
Let's face it, Dodge probably didn't think that they could draw enough attention to their new vehicles as long as the Journey and Grand Caravan ( cash cows) were still on the market.

In 2013 when Marchionne rolled out his 5yr plan both the Journey & Caravan were to be axed by 2019, even the Viper was cancelled. Chrysler Town & Country was to remain as the sole minivan & Fiat was to supply all new SUV's, Hence Absolutely no money was to be spent on these programs. Simply keeping machinery up & running to build the vehicle was a daunting task. Dodge pickups was spun off as its own brand "RAM" you have "Jeep" & now "SRT" as its own brand. Lives of certain models were extended due to slow launches of new products since Marchionnes death

My 2015 was th4 best model. For $27k, it had nice extras that many suvs at similar prices didn't have.
The Infinity 7 speaker sound system with th3 subwoofer wad nice and I think th3 Amp was 200watts.
9i had moonroof, camera parking assist, 16" alloys and 4v3n though it was a 4 cylinder. I had a tow bar that allows up to 6000lbs of towing and I towed a trail full of stuff many times. It simply didn't have good take off.
With my 2017, I made sure to get the V6. It is pretty peppy, but I try to use mid-grade fuel for better excelleration.
I'm not in a hurry so I don't need to power or size of th3 Durango.
When I had the base model, I only had to change the front rotors one. When I trade my 2015, I had less than 2 years of miles on it and my deal bought it back and sold it the same day when I bought my 2017.
I had no brake changes at all on it.
My 2017 just now had 24k miles and it 4 years old. No brake work needed yet.
Though I do hear some rattling noise on one of th3 struts. So I know I need to check it.
I didn't have any issues with any of the 3 models. I got rid of the 1st 2 simply because I got such a good deal on trade.
    My 1stbwas financed at 14%. 2nd at 11% and I got 3.9 on my 3rd.
Gonna keep this one. I still see plenty 2009-2015 models and lots of 2017/18 crossroads and GT.
They tried to sell me a GT but I felt it looked too identical to my SXT.
Drove the SXT to Florida and back on 2.5 tanks of gas. I managed to get the milage up to 29mpg and hot 545 miles from a tank and instill had 1/8 left.
I've pulled at least 1000lbs with no issue with 2 models with zero issue.
I've pulled uhauls largest trail packed with zero issues.
Yes this is amiss opportunity because the truck is great and it handles well in winter. And I don't have AWD.
I hate they dropped the Infinity sound system. But it still sounds pretty good for a car stereo and th3 bass still kicks.

Bought an SXT new 2010 in UK - Car was fantastic value for the cost - As soon as Dodge pulled out of the UK we noticed the service costs increase and interest from the previous dealers had wained. Main problem was brakes and disk(rotor) wear was dramatic for normal use and also seized calipers. Resale price in 2014 was nearly 1/3 of the purchase price as I guess people just didnt want them in the Uk. Shame really as it was a superb car.

I have a 2014 Jouney SXT AWD. I have to say I have had no problems with the powertrain which is the 3.6L mated to the 6 speed auto. I do have an issue with the cheap interior plastics. Also, for an SUV, it has a very low approach height causing frequent curbing in parking situations. The, so called, skid plate under the engine is also plastic offering little protection. The transmission cooler is just under the front bumper and is subject to damage due to the aforementioned curb height and lack of real protection. Maybe FCA can revive a mid sized SUV under the Ram badge.

My daughter has a 2015 FIAT Freemont Lounge version, with the 2.4ltr engine. She loves it, and is yet to have any major issues besides having to replace the battery.
I've driven it, and besides the lack off get up and go, it's nice and comfy do drive.
We (Wife & I) have a 2018 Jeep Cherokee 3.2 v6, and the difference in up & go is huge. One day while out picking up some furniture in a trailer with the Cherokee, out on the highway, my daughter in her FIAT was beside me at around 80kmh. We did a 3,2,1 countdown & went for it. The Cherokee just walked away, and that's with a trailer full off furniture I'm guessing weighing in at around 1 ton combined. Her boyfriend was laughing in the passenger seat off her car, while she looked crestfallen. Even though, she loves her car, and that's all that matters.

I just bought a new 2020 Dodge Journey back in May. Granite color (gray). Blacktop package. I find that it has adequate head and legroom for me. I am 6'4" . My only real complaint, which was addressed in the video is the lack of space in the back. Furthermore, the tailgate entry is too small. I find myself struggling to squeeze my bicycle in. But the ride is good. For me, the power from the 4 cyl is adequate, as I gave up my Speed Racer habits years ago.
I traded a Lincoln MKS for it. I get more compliments on the Journey than I ever did with the Lincoln. Most importantly: My wife is finally happy with the vehicle I have chosen. Brand new with a factory warranty, after all rebates, was just shy of $19,500.

The only real issue I've had with the Journey was the steering wheel going out of alignment when I had my 2019 SE. Bought it brand new and had to have it serviced 5 times in a 9 month period the first year I had it because it kept going out of alignment for different reason. When I did my research about the different higher level trims is when I traded it in for the 2019 Crossroad. I love the V6 with the duel chrome exhaust tips, the 8.4 screen with the infotainment and fog lights (even though my SE did have fog lights) and better looking wheels. So far she is holding up.

Still have my '14 R/T. 3.6 awd. Never really had a problem with it, some wear and tear stuff over the years but other than that no a single hiccup. Definitely a few minor annoying things like the doors don't stay open with the notches, the 19" rims are prone to hold snow and unbalance super easy, if snow packs in the wheel wells the awd will kick off when you need it most, our navi hasn't worked since maybe year 1 and dealership just says they can't fix it. It is not make for larger people, I am not big and neither is my wife so we fit in just fine. We have had 3 full sized car seats in the vehicle at once for quite some time and it was fine, not much space left in the back though with 3rd row up but the car isn't a boat either which is nice so give and take. Engine is pretty good and smooth still, I tow a lot with it, and beat the snot out of it, with decent tires it does great in the snow. Ours has a few rust spots now but living in the NE where they put who knows what on the roads it's no surprise. I hope it keeps ticking for many years.

I think the Journey is a solid car, we have a 2009 SE in the family, has around 130k on it, got it as a cheap used vehicle for my son, the only things wrong when we got it was the leak detection pump was leaking, ironically, so it had EVAP codes and the gascap message on the odometer, replaced it myself for $30 and that was fixed, and the intake manifold runner solenoid was sticking causing a check engine light, took it apart, cleaned and lubricated it, and put it back on, took twenty mins, error free since then. Sees daily driver use of 70-80 miles, hasn't really had an issue. Brakes seem fine to me when i drove it, must be driver related brake failure, that happens a lot on many vehicles because people are so foot heavy drivers these days. The 2.4l gets great gas mileage, don't need a speed demon, an economic daily driver is what it is. I don't know, overall its not a bad car if you ask me. If it lasts a couple years it will be well worth the $600 we have into it, that was including purchase, previous owner was told the ECM was bad because the intake runner solenoid wasn't working and quoted thousands for repair, we got it cheap and put a couple hours and less than $50 into it and its been a daily driver now.

We had a 2014 R/T AWD 3.6. It was a great little car. Plush comfortable interior, decent amount of features, but it only had two rows. The oil cooler was leaking and instead of fixing it and trying to find parts to convert it, we just traded it for the exact same color 2015 R/T AWD.
That had three rows. The granite crystal metallic is a gorgeous color, when paired with the black and small shiny accents it really pops.
I do wish they would have added some. Features like cooled seats, sunroof or even a panoramic roof, and they could have smoothed out the body lines some and updated the lighting further. The refresh to LED taillights, black bezel headlights, and soft touch interior bits was a major boost to the car. And really made them desirable. For some reason their value has absolutely tanked. The AWD is very confident in inclement weather. I would definitely recommend a 14+ model with lower miles. The biggest thing with these being so cheap now is that they tend to get picked up by folks who neglect them. Find one with low miles, that's in visibly excellent condition and you got a winner. Preferably find something with service records to prove upkeep.

I could never see this as an SUV. It is really a station wagon with larger wheels. AMC was doing that in the 1970s with their station wagons. Even the extra available third row of seats was available in many station wagons. I’ve ridden in my son’s and it reminded so much of my old 1981 Aries K-Car wagon.

I have I 2017 SXT V6 AWD. I bought it used from Enterprise with 17K. Overall, it's been a good vehicle to date. Got 100k now with just routine maintenance.
Negatives are ....it is an uninspired boring vehicle, The hvac contros are a pain to use, Hard to see backing up and no camera, gas milage sucks and transmission shifts sometimes feel weird.
Positives are... it's AWD, plenty of power with the V6, very comfy seats and comfortable quiet ride.
Good car for family road trip vacations , soccer moms and grocery getting. We have been through a few bad winter storms and has handled the snow impressively well.

When it began to snow we went to start it up it didn’t . I have tried now for a month to get it to turn over and try and figure out why it won’t turn over , can’t find the problem yet . I used to like the Journey especially the Crossroad Plus only with the Penterstar V6 a few years ago, but now I don't feel the same it's the only product from FCA I try to avoid when my grandmother's 19 Pacifica Limited needs to be in shop.
It's design inside and out is ancient, the 2.4 and both 4 and 6 speed auto is terribly outdated and poorly tuned. You can clearly tell that FCA didn't care for the Journey since UConnect and some other components weren't ever updated compared to other products on older platforms.
I honestly didn't like the majority of the cars based on the JC platform, never liked Chrysler's older transmissions and engines, the Penterstar and new ZF transmissions they use now is way better than older Chrysler parts.

I've owned a first model with 2.4l, it was the worst car I ever had, the car was in mint shape, but the engine was too weak to move such a relatively heavy body. I had electrical problems but thank God it was not the ignition, but it was mostly headlights, tail lights and interior, I had multiple brake failures such as clinging, locking, and fast wearing, overheating. The interior was horrible hard plastic. The weather striping was not well fitted and kept getting off especially the back doors side, it looks like it is not designed for it. The front suspension links used to wear quite often. I used to disconnect the traction control to help the engine to move the car, even on snowy uphill the traction was very stupid, it kept cutting off the gas leaving me stranded, so I had to turn it off until I get out of this situation, you can imagine the picture how it skids without traction control. I forgot to mention that it was a fwd. The first time in my life I was happy to sell a car even it had a clean body and interior

It should be noted that he drives fairly long distances though, so nearly all of that is highway. 1 complete set of brakes with rotors, 1 battery, 2 sets of tires with 1 alignment, 1 UConnect software update ( yes he had to pay for that) but not much else. Is the 2.4 and 4 auto way underpowered and outclassed? YES and he'll tell ya that with the fam aboard and with the a/c on, you'll have your foot in it ALOT. Mileage will suffer. But he says with just him aboard on longer distances, he has frequent 30 mpg highway returns. Bargain basement no frills smaller SUV that could be had on the cheap.
