I always feel that South Indian Sanatanis have preserved bhakti and Dharma. North Indians have lost out. May Maa bless all these people. When Avtar of Maa Kali came to South She praised devotion of people there. Thousands of people gathered to have Darshan of Maa. Maa saw that everybody was quiet and they were all reciting God's name mentally with closed eyes. Then Maa said Bangaliyo ko bulao aur dekho in logo ko. Who was She? Giuru Maa of famous Karnataki Classical Vidushi Shrimati M. S. Subbulakshmi, Maa Anandmayi.

The problem is when people of north speak in Hindi they uses lot of URDU vocabulary instead of Sanskrit ! & irony is they think they are speaking Hindi .
If you can speak pure Hindi with Sanskrit vocabulary then even South Indians can understand the language up to 30 % at least .
Even you can understand the Telugu & Kannada language if you know basic Sanskrit vocabulary
For example Santosham , Anandham , Mithrulu in pure hindi Mithr
I can give you many many more words which are very common you just need to have idea that’s it
