How to do the Portes du Soleil Circuit from Champoussin to Les Crosets, Avoriaz, Chatel, Morgins

During our stay in Champoussin (Swiss Side) this January 2020 I wanted to take on the Portes du Soleil Circuit while Chantel was getting a ski lesson.
For those of you unfamiliar with the area, the Portes du Soleil (“Doors of the Sun”) straddles the French-Swiss border. It has 580km of groomed runs linking 12 different resorts, making it one of the largest ski playgrounds in the world.
The circuit is a huge loop around the Portes du Soleil area. It doesn’t take you through every resort but you can do more resorts than me depending on your time and ski level. I only did Champoussin to start then Les Crosets towards Avoriaz and Chatel then over from Chatel to Morgins and back to Champoussin. I took the fast route and only 2 coffee stops as you do! Did it just over 4 hours however you can take it much easier. I wanted to get back for lunch with Chantel. Happy Wife = Happy Life :)
The route takes in the best views of the Portes du Soleil and the quieter slopes of Switzerland. If you are visiting Avoriaz on a peak week and want to get away from the crowds, the Portes du Soleil Circuit is ideal as the Swiss side is nice and quiet, please don't tell too many people, let’s keep it a secret.

I worked in Chantel in the 86/87 season. I did the circuit both ways in one day including the wall. Good time. It can only be done if you are on your own. No waiting for anyone.
Thanks for the great memories, we spent 3 winters doing this circuit while using Morgin as our base,we all were from NZ but working London, greatest times with the best friends in the 90s.
