I, too, came here looking to listen to the full piece after always hearing bits of it by Twoset. I love that they legit are getting people into classical music and exposing us to the diversity of styles and composers in classical music that I didn't know existed. I'd always been curious about classical music but had no idea where to start--how do you even begin to parse a body of work spanning hundreds of years, you know? Of course everyone knows shit like Canon in D and Beethoven's 5th but they didn't appeal to me and it was like, how do you even start looking for things that you might like? So I'm really really happy that I found Twoset, they make it so fun and engaging and it's awesome what they're doing!
I was honestly very curious how many twoset related comments I’d find down here. I love it when they play this piece it’s so beautiful and it’s really fun to see people who come out of appreciation for what they do and want to hear more.
I agree, they are a good introduction to classical music for me! and there's a video of twoset playing the whole piece(i think?) as well: th-cam.com/video/szZVFpZGnXs/w-d-xo.html
In my 44 years of violin playing, this has got to be the best and most enjoyable performance I’ve ever heard of the fiendishly difficult Navarra by Pablo de Sarasate. Congratulations to both of you! You have captured the spirit, charm, and grace of the piece quite beautifully. Thank you for your hard work and dedication in delivering this exquisite performance.
I'm not sure what's more delightful to hear, that their violins are priceless masterpieces, or that they're still playing together. I'm a vocalist, not a string player but by all things good, those two were SINGING together. And dancing too, for that matter. How lovely!
This looks like a couple decided to drop a Navarra at the wedding for the audience. Imagine if you actually played a duet for your own wedding tho. That would be the best wedding in the history.
Getting my baby in my belly to listen to this masterpiece, I'm the only one in my family who enjoys classical music and plays violin, my two first kids, no hope already know. This 3 kid is going to rock it jajajjajaja have a wonderful day from spain. ❤❤
Paul's eyes flick to Danbi's left hand and then smiles after she plays the A# so I wonder if Danbi ever missed the accidental and that's the inside joke
Something about the perfect harmony of this song is just so romantic, like you have to practically read the other person’s mind to get it so beautifully synced
Absolument magnifique, à la fois subtil et et grandiose en tout. La perfection peut être de ce monde ! Absolument sublime performance ! Compliments et salutations d'un admirateur de France.
I watched and listened several times. I love your presentation. I am thankful for such talent that enlivens the heart and soul. You gave me HaPpy tears!
Outstanding! Clearly a couple in love making beautiful music together! I looked Paul up and they are now married! 😊 I've watched a number of Navarras here on TH-cam and this trio is bar far the best.
Me! I went scouring the internet for the piece. I saw Brett and Eddy play it for like the 3rd time and went "I NEED TO FIND THIS" Only thing is that I'm a cellist... No cello arrangement for this piece :(
I really really love this performance, but seriously... why does noone wait after the music ends ? Pls give atleast 2-3 secs to process the masterpiece you have just heard...
Sunny music for dark times. Thanks so much. Brilliantly played and accompanied - I haven't heard this piece before but it was worth waiting 73 years to so so!!
From 5:13 It seems like the arco sound comes from some other place... I know the woman plays the arco with up bow, but she plays so easily that I can’t realize she’s playing that note....
Having watched and listened to this marvelous performance probably eight times now, I am utterly enthralled. Both Huang and Um, though Danbi Um in particular, strike me as a profoundly sensitive players and wonderfully attentive to the ensemble work that's so critical in this piece. The two of them bring out all the charm, levity, and elegance that Sarasate put into his composition. A delight, not least because it confirms that a new, prodigiously talented generation of violinists is about to reinvigorate classical music. In dark times, such unvarnished beauty and talent offers a glimmer of hope. - The one other recording, by David and Igor Oistrakh, is of the same caliber, though I find their tempo a bit too hard-driving and at times eclipsing the levity and charm of Sarasate's score. th-cam.com/video/pmrzVVu4FUM/w-d-xo.html
Same, I felt that the Oistrakh recording isn't delicate enough. That may have to do with the fact that microphones back then weren't as good as they are now, and they might have been forced to play that way to get it picked up
So glad the youtube algorithm recommended me this! Both violinists are amazing and they have great chemistry. (Also, can we show some love to the pianist?)
