Don't need to. There is such thing as as-built drawings. What I don't understand is, why knowing there is poison gas, than space limited, fast flowing water and they didn't use few CCTV to go down immediately at the beginning stages from main hole to main hole. Every project before authorities inspection and handing over, the main contractor is to carry out CCTV inspections. And the CCTV equipment comes with wheels, lighting, camera and go as small as 6" pipe. I'm still scratching my head!!!!

Ask developers involved for making the sewage system. By now they should have the data of each water flow underground and etc. I pray for the best for the victim. I wish government are more strict with developers for city planning in the future by asking for future feasibility for each development, so we are more prepared of what's the outcome going to be. Yes, there are no plan-proof but a plan is better than none, and I tend to think that's what every ethical engineers believe.

Over time, the metal bottom structure of the cover deteriorated and rusted away, that her mere weight on the cover caused it to fall in. It is probably unsafe to simply paved over manhole covers we don't want anymore. Far as I can tell, the normal way to construct these paved interlocking brick walkways is to cover the area with sand to flatten it, then apply a thin later of concrete to stabilize the sand, and then some more sand, and then the bricks on top. Sometimes, they apply mortar instead of sand as the final layer below the bricks. Anyway, the concrete layer is very thin, and isn't intended to support weight over a void underneath. It is supposed to rest on a solid surface.

The pipe underneath is 1.5m wide, can easily push an adult human away if water is full. Quite scary if you think about it.

Isnt there a better way to find something under the sink hole? Any technology to scan underground from up or send a camera or something to check. She was wearing a saree and a bag.
