I love this song ❤️. It reminds me of the times I spent in Norway 🇳🇴. I'm from Germany and my dad decided to move to Stavanger with his wife in 2009. For a few years it was like my second home 😊. If you haven't been to Norway yet, I can only recommend it. As a vacation it's quite expensive, but it's worth it 😀. Beautiful landscapes, lovely people, pleasant climate in summer and very relaxing 🖼️.

Pål talked about how when they were writing and composing this song that both he and Magne were working on the lyrics, and he was to write the chorus, “We could live by the foot of the Mountain..” singing about getting out of the city, ( He and his wife, Lauren moved to New York City in 1994) That they were thinking about moving out of the city. But Magne wrote the verses, and he wrote the first verse, “Keep your clever lines, hold your easy rhymes...” directing those words to Pål himself. And Pål took offense to this feeling Magne was saying shit about him in the verse,,,,and told him to Fu*k off, and write your own fu*king chorus. This led to a big argument and Pål insists that his writings be removed from the song, that he did not want to have anything, including writing/composing credit with this song. He later didn’t turn up for work on the record, and Magne and Morton told him if he removed himelsf from the song, he would’ve fired from A-ha!! He didn’t respond right away (which says to me that he was possibly considering it)
But he did return and continued working on the song with Magne and Morton. But he said that he doesn’t like the song, and doesn’t care anything about he song......
😢😓 which devastates me since the song is so very very precious and special to me.
Yes, quite a few things in that documentary were a bit sad. How they pretty much said they hate working together, but know they do produce good music when together. 😞How much Morten hated being the sex symbol and how much he still hates that attention. The part where he is in the car, on they way to a concert. He kept going on about the quiet of the car. You could tell he was really dreading getting out and seeing fans. How Morten is treated so different from Pål and Magne. Like he is a god and Pål and Magne are just kinda there. 😕Plus quite a few other things. I know one thing, made me feel too guilty to ever see them
in concert. I hope one day they can find individual happiness beyond the band. Hopefully sooner than later. I mean, they’re in their 60’s.

Yes, but at the same time, they stay together because all us fans love them so very much. I hope they know truly how much we love them. On the one hand, they hate the publicity, but on the other hand they realize they make beautiful amazing music together. It’s the same thing as with some other bands as well, like, ABBA, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, the Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, so in a way they are not alone. I hope one day I can see them live, they are my favorite band along with Fleetwood Mac....
What exactly got you upset so much ? I remember reading in RS magazine that Paul gave up on the "Analogue" album and didn't show up in the studio most of the time. All just because things weren't going his way. I remember thinking back then, that they should have fired Paul for his demeanor. If you skipp your working time, you get fired, right?
Sometimes I seriously doubt Paul's sanity. But that's just my opinion...
