Also, I can’t afford a gym membership. Probably because I eat fast food twice a day. Is there a video this guy does, who I find very intelligent within his field, of where to start? How to get to what I want to achieve. My family’s health lies in the balance. I broke both arms and one femur. I've dropped a lot of weight while waiting to get back into it but have also leaned out. Lean gains will be my goal as soon as I can pick up weights again!
Just started training and had some great results on a cut. Lost 5 pounds of fat and gained 3 pounds of muscle in 6 weeks while "maintaining" my weight at 170lbs. But I had no idea that you should do maintenance for this long (1-2 years) as a beginner. I wanted to start with a bulk now, but I guess I will try to use this beginner phase and hope for some great results from the noob gains.

Dr Mikę - I Watch every week BUT you never speak to the older weight lifters that want to continue to get jacked. Let’s say I’m 62 yrs old and I’m not hearing anything on 60+ men, can you add some valuable content. I’m 62 hitting it 5-6 days a week and would love to hear your thoughts on strength and muscle gains. Thanks Dr Mike.. Big fan!
It's very similar, just drastic mini-cuts are mentally more difficult but you lose weight much more quickly. I myself prefer 2lbs weight gain per month for 2-3 months followed by 2-3 weeks of 1000 kcal mini-cut. I never lost muscle during such cuts, and even if, I always look way better. Not to mention muscle memory so in a week or two you regain everything.
Hi. I like how you crack jokes and feed great information. I have a question regarding calories. If you are in constant caloric deficit you will deffinetly loose weight, but how is this applied to folks with ilnesses and hormonal changes?
It (2017) was a great coming of age movie. Immaculate and Furiosa were also great coming of age movies. House of The Dragon season 1 was pretty good as well.
Dr. Mike I am going to do the 16 week gain and 4 week deficit. But If you stumble upon this comment, please let me know which calculator do you use for calculating TDEE and what activity level should i use if i workout 5 days a week for 90 minutes per session.
3x4 week block or 2x6 block with deloads or however you auto regulate deloads. and he never said active rest. he said a week off training. as for the diet if it’s only 4-6 weeks it’s not likely to be necessarily to take a diet break.
@@user-wk5yc7eb7tthe slide with the plan at the beginning literally says “1 week active rest”… And I normally do deloads after every 4 weeks lifting, but I don’t normally do this plan. I’m curious whether part of this plan is to just plow through the growth and fat loss phases without deloads or if it’s meant to incorporate them because it wasn’t mentioned.
Should you deload at maintenance as necessary during the 12 week gain phase? (Eg 2 x 6 weeks mesocyles with deloads) Or is it supposed to be 12 solid weeks of cumulative training with the week of active rest following to shed fafigue?

(Because both the gain and the loss phase are longer than I usually go without a deload, e.g. roughly every 4 weeks at age 41)
Didn't he have a video a few months ago saying that deloads are basically unnecessary and you should temporarily lower volume or stop whatever body part feels totally shot?
My weight fluctuates so much within a week its hard for me to actually tell if anything is happening. Somedays im 173 and others im 175.

I’m going to say my favourite coming of age is chappie, he turns straight gangsta then transcends humanity and maps consciousness after being alive less than 6 months
Big fan!
How would you compare this one to the "Staying lean for summer" program from a while back? That one is a slow gain with a 2-week cut, then back again.
Not to mention muscle memory so in a week or two you regain everything.
maingain -> gaintain, noted and appreciated.
Hi. I like how you crack jokes and feed great information.
I have a question regarding calories. If you are in constant caloric deficit you will deffinetly loose weight, but how is this applied to folks with ilnesses and hormonal changes?
Dr. Mike is the Deadpool of Sport Scientists
Ahhh man. Thats a tough question. The Breakfast Club, Stand By Me, Over The Top, Terminator 2…
Is the "Outsiders" a coming of age movie? Love that movie. Buut "Visionquest" was dope! It shows your age Dr. Mike.
Doc i will always be with you
You named my favorite "coming of age" movie.. Vision Quest
1:13 in and I’ve laughed 4x. I almost forget his info is priceless!
Please critique Max Euceda’s back and bicep demolition
It (2017) was a great coming of age movie.
Immaculate and Furiosa were also great coming of age movies. House of The Dragon season 1 was pretty good as well.
If someone actually make Notes
He'll become certified trainer.. what a wisdom 🙏❤️
Dr. Mike, would you suggest doing my 12,000 daily steps during the De-load week or just taking a physical and mental break from it all?
Dr. Mike I am going to do the 16 week gain and 4 week deficit. But If you stumble upon this comment, please let me know which calculator do you use for calculating TDEE and what activity level should i use if i workout 5 days a week for 90 minutes per session.
During the 12 week growth phase do you still do deload weeks or just wait for the active rest? Same question for the fat loss phase.
3x4 week block or 2x6 block with deloads or however you auto regulate deloads. and he never said active rest. he said a week off training. as for the diet if it’s only 4-6 weeks it’s not likely to be necessarily to take a diet break.
@@user-wk5yc7eb7tthe slide with the plan at the beginning literally says “1 week active rest”…
And I normally do deloads after every 4 weeks lifting, but I don’t normally do this plan. I’m curious whether part of this plan is to just plow through the growth and fat loss phases without deloads or if it’s meant to incorporate them because it wasn’t mentioned.
How should you train during a cut? If you are not building muscle. Is two weekly sessions a week full body to preserve muscle?
Should you deload at maintenance as necessary during the 12 week gain phase? (Eg 2 x 6 weeks mesocyles with deloads) Or is it supposed to be 12 solid weeks of cumulative training with the week of active rest following to shed fafigue?
