Not sure, usually after you take ownership of a .dll it lets you rename it, even when it's in use. What about putting ".old" at the end instead of ".bak" ?
It would be interesting if there was a way to do this with explorer.exe in Windows 7. Without using classic shell, 7+ taskbar and other third-party applications.
@@mateussm1311 You mean making Windows 10 look like 7? If so, there is already a way! I recommend using 10to7 and ConsoleLogonHook for the 1:1 replica.
I've seen some work being done on porting Windows 7's explorer.exe to Windows 10, allowing you to get the taskbar without needing to install 3rd-party programs. I think it was on WinClassic. Like with ConsoleLogonHook, it's still very WIP

Reinstalling windows is just the last option if no another one is available. Technically you can try sfc /scannow in cmd and see if it'll be back to stock

According to a WinClassic forum I read, bringing back animations would be very difficult, as they are hard-coded in Vista/7. Windows 10 also got rid of 3D transformations in some animations apparently
@@officialpiney??? You broke Windows, not your PC. Unless you physically smashed it with a hammer out of frustration. You can just fix Windows by using a live/installation USB. Or make a backup using Linux, then reinstalling Windows. If you're tampering around with themes and stuff like this, then you should know about the risks and what to do when something goes wrong. And also knowing what generally goes wrong. Breaking your OS ≠ breaking your computer !!

There is no way of removal as far as I know. Try a System Restore maybe? If not, I'd just reinstall.
