A very nice video and excellent narration. During one of our road trips out west (we live in Florida), we traveled many of the same roads as you. We are a relatively new channel that goes on a lot of road trips (hence, our handle) and we posted our first video (A Channel Trailer) about 2 weeks ago. I like watching (new sub) smaller channels like yours to learn how those with experience do it. Take care and safe travels.
It's a Garmin RV 1090. Comes in a few different sizes. It connects to your cell phone by Bluetooth, so traffic and weather is sent to the screen. Very please with it.
BlueColorKat , just saw your video. I’m jealous you’re heading to Arizona for winter. I live in Idaho and it gets cold and snowy here. Hopefully after the first of the year coming south. Was wondering what hand held communicators do you guys use? Been looking for something to use between us and brother in law when traveling in our motorhomes . Thanks for sharing!
We used to use a cheap pair from Walmart and had to replace batteries every day. Then, I found on Amazon a quality rechargeable by Retcv15. We also added a remote mic, which works well for us. We can clip the remote mic to my shirt and lay radio on seat. Get two days on a charge.
Nice drive. I would like to drive to Arizona one day and plan to put a popup truck camper on my pickup,, eventually. How much will three months cost at your destination and will you have to pay all at once?
There are a lot of RV parks around thus area. Some have no amenities other than hookups. Other are called RV resorts, with, pools, hot tubs, pickle ball courts, which will cost more. Our park we make reservations last spring, small deposit, then pay the full amount when we arrive. I think this park is around $930 a month. There are cheaper parks out there. There is also plenty of BLM land where you can boondock for free.
Nice! Does this mean you're back in AZ now? I've been subscribed to your channel for a little while now in hopes that my boyfriend and I can join you on a buggy ride sometime. We watched your Butcher Jones and Four Peaks videos. We live close by and have a buggy 😊
I would think the 890 could. You have to make sure you have the Garmin Drive phone app loaded and connected by Bluetooth to your phone. When I turn the gps on, it connects to that app. I then hit weather on the gps and a 2nd window pops up with weather projected over your route.
Before pulling the SxS on the trailer, she always rode up front and helped navigate. But now since we pull the trailer out and back each year she's been following in the pickup. She's been a real trooper. We upgraded our handheld radios, which helps a lot. Staying in communication is important. We plan each travel day the night before.
Beautiful set up … be safe have fun and god bless my friend..

Looks like a beautiful drive. What is the attraction to AZ if you're trying to escape winter?
Much warmer weather than Georgia during winter, plus so many things to do here in AZ, plus we have grandkids that we get to visit.

@@BlueColorKat Wonderful, thank you!
What model of GPS do you have?
RV Garmin 1090 MTS. It connects to your phone and projects weather over your route. It's for RV's. I think they also make a smaller screen.
OK I have the 890 and was wondering if I could get the split screen with the weather
Thank you for replying .. we are going to be on the same route from San Antonio in the next couple of weeks

@@ToddF100hopefully you won't have the wind we had. However it is usually windy around Van Horn to Deming.
