That's funny cause I pulled the plug on my 2013 '13 Super Sport and water came gushing in, must have had over a gallon on the deck.

That’s funny... I just pulled mine because I have a brand new one.... and it does what it’s supposed to....u should probably take a boating safety coarse....👍

Why does the user manual on the 2015 super sport say to put the plugs in if you’re Moored?

Is it possible to build a self bailing dingy while occupied by one person or would the center of gravity be too high?

The 210 Montauk is self-bailing (it has floor scuppers), but the 170 and 190 Montauks are not.

How does water get out of the hull? Doesn’t the foam get wet?

I am dealing with my scuppers now on my Boston Whaler Dauntless from 1995 and I think this is the worst implementation of thru hull fittings. The decks should have been about an inch higher not to have a wet deck in the back. On the Dauntless the two side scuppers are always wet AND flow over into the floor compartment where I have the life vests etc, luckily there is a bilge pump, bit still, after sitting for a week, always ugly green looking area in the back of the boat.

I have a 2006 110 Sport and I don't believe I can do without the plug. I've tried twice in 2-3 ft water and it just didn't stop coming in and I was not in the boat. Maybe it's because my 6 gallon gas tank is in the back. Has anyone had success with the 110 sport (25HP with center console)? Thanks

I have 150ss with polling platform and 60hp merc 4stroke even with nobody in the boat the waterline is above drain plug. Is this normal?

My understanding that a Self Bailing Deck should be above the water line. He does not show the back of the transom. Assuming the drain hole is above the water line. Problem is if you with a load and out and motor fails and you take on water than what? A True self bailing deck has drains well above the waterline. Do even the larger boston whalers have this? For a true Self Bailing deck look at Radon Boats.

Good point. Probably should have grate across the back end with a flip up access to the plug.

Its cool that it does that, but I would still add a bilge pump, just in case.

Yeah because drilling holes in a boat that is designed to do this is a great idea 👍
