Almost a year ago, when you started streaming these reviews with your faces I posted: “Are you going to be able to talk your quests into this? Hoai-Tran Bui is by far my favorite recurring guest. Would love to see them on here with you guys.” And it’s finally happened! Glad you guys have kept up the format and continue to have great insightful guests.

Thank you for your POV of this movie. Your panel tends to like movies I enjoy and easily express my twin feelings. Had heard several reviews of the film & listened to a few interviews with cast & director. And yet the raunchiness was still a surprise. Gotta say I enjoyed JR a lot. We need more films from an Asian POV. I loved Crazy Rich Asians. Good to see more Asians creating movies for the masses. I’m Hawaiian. Caught a Thursday 11am showing of Joy Ride. I was the only person in a small Harkins auditorium. Missed having a group to share the laughs. I wasn’t bothered by story inconsistencies or lost threads. I just wanted to laugh and I did.
The Dead Eye character was a missed opportunity. Their backstory was non-existent, unlike the Melissa McCarthy character in Bridesmaids who has a brief but full arch. Perhaps Dead Eye’s story was left on the cutting room floor. Looking forward to more from this team of writers, producers, actors.

As a Korean American adoptee, this movie destroyed me throughout its third act.
The Dave Matthews Band record scratch with the opening montage was the perfect encapsulation of being in that situation.

I really enjoyed the movie - both extremes -the comedy and the heart. It worked for me.

There were too many bad outcomes for our likeable leads and the so-called happy girls trip vacation ending felt too sudden.

No Hard Feelings was a much better film. This movie just reminds me that Crazy Rich Asians was such a bad film. Both movies make me feel like the director comes from a rich family and maybe that's why they can't relate to us pleabs maybe??

Crazy Rich Asians wasn’t good but the main issue was Constance Wu, an absolute charisma black hole
