"Look around, look around, at how lucky we are to be alive right now" was something Eliza also sung in the other song, Schuyler Sisters. Love the video! Also, there is a song called "First Burn," that isn't in Hamilton, but it was made off of another song in it, called "Burn." What's really cool about First Burn is that it is sung by the other women who played as Eliza in different plays all across the world, and it would be awesome if you could react to it.
“Look at where you are, look at where you started. The fact that you’re alive is a miracle. Just stay alive. That’ll be enough.” I repeat these lyrics to myself so much.
It's been years since I read the Ron Chernow biography of Hamilton (which was Lin's introduction to A. Ham.), but I believe the "do you relish being a poor man's wife"/"I relish being you wife" was taken almost word for word from letters between Hamilton and Eliza that Ron Chernow included in the book. Lin regularly used Chernow as a reference while writing the show.
Disclaimer: I'm a sucker for Hamilton Reactions. That being said I really enjoy your reactions. I am not a musician. Half of what you say I only half understand BUT! I always knew Hamilton was a work of art. I appreciate your very knowledgeable insight. Gives me a deeper love for a work of art I already adore.
As you've probably detected by now, repeated musical motifs play an enormous role in this production. Absolutely loving the reactions, and I'm learning a lot in the process of watching them. Subscribed.
@@JacobRestituto Have you listened to "It's Quiet Uptown"? If not, don't listen to it out of order. Someone mentioned "Burn" above. Like "Burn," "It's Quiet Uptown" hits so much harder if you know what just happened in the story.
There’s a really good song in the play called non stop. I think you’d have a lot to say about it and would enjoy it a lot. I also love your why don’t we and Hamilton reactions!
Oooohh, shit. Excellent reaction, as always, but . . . have some tissues handy for the rest of the play. I was going to mention a specific song, but I don't want to spoil anything. But . . . yeah, buckle up.
I feel like maybe if you'd review the previous song off camera before resuming the album you could remind yourself of where you are in the story and feel a tiny bit less lost. Remember that there is no dialogue between songs so you're only missing visuals of the story. (One brief exception, a song that's not on the album.)
I would love to see your reaction to some StarKid stuff . Especially Twisted. (StarKid is a musical production company that was formed by some friends out of the University of Michigan after they’re first musical A Very Potter Musical went viral in 2009. They put on self written musicals , many of them parodies, on TH-cam for free)
When you get to watching the full musical I would love to see your reactions! Disney can be picky with what you can show though so I recommend either nor showing the video for the musical or blurring it.
loved this reaction! btw this is off topic but i will say that if you intend to react to Burn, PLEASE react to The Reynolds Phamlet or Say No To This (either or) beforehand, it makes Burn so much more impactful!
I'm really looking forward to seeing you react to "The Room Where it Happens." It includes a sound that to me sounds like the sound a vinyl record makes when you first set the needle down. I'm trying to figure out why they did that. If you can figure it out, or even offer some ideas, I'd be thrilled.
You really need to see the show. Maybe you can react to the actual video of each song you previously reacted to. It's nice enough to hear them but to see the visuals go so well with them including Satisfied which is just so creative in it's staging.
New sub, love the channel, am really enjoying all the breakdowns from a musician's perspective. Can you do some more Blackpink, I love how they've evolved. Their first single was Whistle to their newest Lovesick Girls. Maybe you could do their discography from newest to oldest or vice versa. Also, their music videos will always have closed captioning to translate but if you don't want to watch the mv, there are color coded lyric videos that show who's singing each part and a translation to english as well. Those are very handy when getting used to a group. Plus it really helps to know what they're saying. I'd reccomend their newest LoveSick Girls or Kill This Love, Stay, Boombayah, or Whistle #RestitutoReacting

The "Look around" motif is introduced in Schuyler Sisters.
ah yes

God, ending this song with that little bit from It's Quiet Uptown just hurts

5:40 oo I didnt notice
That "second ending" shows up again in Act 2 🤩

Theres a YT video called Under The Stage with Music Director Alex Lacamoire and you can see all the instruments they use during the show
definitely going to check it out!
The ending melody is the same as in "Its Quiet Uptown"
this comes after he gets sent home at the end of meet me inisde
oh cool!

Yes there are two pianos, one is the main piano and the second is Alex Lacamoire

ahh interesting idea with the blur, thanks!
That interesting piano outro? It’s foreshadowing… This song is about their son Phillip, and that piano line is the foundation of “It’s Quiet Uptown” 😢
Snappppp
@@JacobRestituto Lin-Manuel, the master of the motif!!
Is that intro new 🤔? I like it! Short & Sweet
glad to har it!
the ending comes back in act 11, its alex lacamoire favourite musical moment from hamilton
oh cool!
ACT 11!?
There's only two acts bro

Him: Interesting ending with that piano...
Me, recognizing it as the theme of It’s Quiet Uptown: _\*screaming internally*_
