This. This is how people need to do their montages. And a well displayed use of suppression grenades. So many people are butt hurt about how other grenades are op, but each has its own function and use; area of denial, pure damage, and distraction. Good show dude. I haven't seen a good destiny montage til now. From a warlock.

Using any weapon besides a shotgun while running armor of light is pointless. Fusion rifles and snipers are just as good as shotguns, only they work at different ranges.
Whenever I make a destiny montage people "hate" because I don't commentate them even though I put music and cool visuals, and I'm like why the fuck would anyone want me to explain whats happening on the screen YOU CAN SEE RIGHT?

The thing I love about this montage is the comparison to other montages on TH-cam. All others have a sense of seriousness to them, but this one is just so much more relaxed and fun. No tryhard clips or anything like that, just fun.

As a Gunslinger, I found this hilarious, those grenades are never used on me, more people should know about that grenade aha.
Nobody plays Defender in PvP, and I can't really blame them. Defenders aren't as flashy as the other classes. : /

I think that when planety destiny called the bubble the worst super in the game, they forgot that although all other classes can counter it, the bubble counters back.
gavin bathagte The Bubble is arguably the worst super in the game, but it is also arguably the best. It loses to every other super in the game, but you can play around other supers (and you HAVE to in order to succeed). Titan tries to smash your bubble, jump outside and you'll live. Same with Nova Bomb.
What makes it excellent is if you are playing with a coordinated team. You can give yourself and 5 other people an extra 90 health or an extra 25-35% more damage. That's a pretty incredible bonus to an entire team. That can last 40-60 seconds (depending on if I run Glasshouse). Plus, I can use these buffs to earn another super.
When playing solo in match-made Crucible the bubble is terrible and relies heavily on your opponents being morons and not having their supers. If I play solo against any decent people, my bubble usually get's destroyed as soon as I drop it. The only upside to this is if I run Gift of Light (which I normally do) I can create 3 more orbs for my team, which essentially means one bubble is a free super to my entire team. The issue is that when I run solo my team is usually filled with potatoes who absolutely will waste their super or not even pick up the orbs to begin with.
The Defender works best as a support class, and that means it's only as good as the team it is supporting. Other classes are considerably better for solo play in almost every regard (melee, super, grenade, BLINK, etc.).
Sliq111 I lol'd when you compared your solo-queue teammates to potatoes. Also I loved your montage, and all the pokes you made at yourself or laughing at others when surpressing them.
Sliq111 How are you doing with the current meta btw? Better or worse than before?
The class balance is identical, so I guess identically. Gun balance doesn't matter in the meta, it just means you use the best guns. It makes the gun meta stale since it's only basically 2 guns, but the class meta hasn't and won't change unless Bungie changes classes.
Defender is inherently the weakest PvP class for the current meta, and it will continue to be unless Bungie does some class balancing.
+Sliq111 Also weapons of light turns a her benevolence or stronger sniper into a 60 second infinite golden gun :P

This was one of the best Destiiny Montages I have seen and I don't mind the Suros Regime or shot gun use as I use both when playing PVP or I use Hawkmoon or thorn as well. I am also a bubble titan and basically run the same set up as you. Cant wait to see more from you I am subbing you

watching a fellow titan rip shit up brings a smile to my face. im a striker i use a high recovery and speed build with my shoulder charge i dont really use weapons but.. in close quarters a fist is better than any weapon. :P

Hey Sliq, thought I'd pipe up and say as a triple Titan runner myself, you have the best Defender play style I've seen to date. Also I've watched this video like 30 times now. Sometimes just for the music, other times for the lol's. My clan thinks it was hilarious, especially the run from the Golden Gun section.
Anyway, I've started trying to emulate your Defender play, I learned PvP Striker from Datto but would love to continue as a support class with Defender. My only problem is getting used to shotguns. I'm a constant fusion rifle runner for PvP but they are useless within the bubble, so I gotta learn.
If you're playing the TTK DLC, have you earned the Immobius shotgun and what do you think of it if so.

For Fusion Rifles, Blessing of Light works the best as you can pop out and fire a burst and pop back in to regen your shield.

No. Blessing only helps you survive one Arc Blade swing, as well as a headshot from low impact sniper rifles. Not sure about the Hammer of Sol, but I'd imagine that one shots you.

First of all, sweet montage! This was so well made and entertaining, I watched it twice just to make sure I caught everything. Haha
Also, you make the defender titan look so fun. Like others, I was initially somewhat turned off by the Suros heavy footage, but I found your extremely effective use of the WoD/Saint-14 and especially the suppression grenade to be awesome enough to counteract it. Mix it up and keep em coming man.
I'm using much different weapons for the next one. There should be some more variety in the next one!

I legitimately feel bad for anyone who only used the meta. It was a game with a lot of fun toys in the exotics, a lot of potential that was only lightly tapped.
The flashbang was so much fun. Weapons of light was so much fun. Monte Carlo and every weapon with a fun gimmick were so much fun.

The Suros is really good, but it's not like it outclasses the Mythoclast, The Last Word, and Thorn, all of which are really excellent weapons. I agree, it's one of the best guns in the game, but it's ass at medium close range and it's pretty shitty when airborne. It's not perfect, just very versatile.
I'm going to try and get clips with the Hard Light. I think falling back on the Suros is a bit of a crutch.

I never used the suppressor grenade but the anti-hunter ability is so nice
I'm telling you, they're fucking amazing. 170 damage on full hit means if they take one bullet they die. Plus they SUPPRESS ABILITIES AND CANCEL SUPERS. It's awesome.

Fellow titan here, wondering if those suppression grenades will stop titan and warlocks mid-animation from using their specials too? If so, i may have to give Defender a go in the Crucible.

Yes. The timing is ridiculously tricky, but if they get hit mid animation it stops the super. I don't think they lose the bar, I just think they can't super for a couple of seconds.
I'm working on my next one now and get a few clips of this exact thing. Keep an eye out for it!
What does Supressor Grenade do to Arc Blade and GG
It can cancel Arc Blade, but it's hard to land because they move so quick. You have to hit them with the meat of the grenade.

Found Verdict, from the VoG. Right now I'm trying to get a Judgement VI shotgun with Shot Package or Rangefinder from a New Monarchy postmaster package. It's RNG to not only get that gun, but to also get those perks. If I get it, I'll lose my mind.

Don't get me wrong though: It's a fun video. You definitely do some cool stuff here and there, but the abundance of those three aspects really puts a damper on it for me. Plus playing against Saint 14 bubblebro's on Control/Salvage is the pinnacle of rage inducing.
I'll try using other weapons more for the next one.
Sliq111 Snipers, hand cannons, and weapons you rarely see used are always great for montages. Like Hard Light, Red Death, Monte Carlo, Hawkmoon, etc.
If you are going to fully commit to a shotgun I'd put in Universal Remote kills. Since that thing can kill from a seemingly impossible range.
There's already plenty of sniper montages that are way better than anything I could do.
I'll use creating another montage with more varied clips as an excuse to test new weapons.
Sliq111 Everyone and their mother uses the same guns in their videos, so it will be nice to see something different.
SUROS, Invective, Found Verdict, Plan C, Pocket Infinity, Praedyth's Revenge, Patience and Time, Shadow Price, and Vex comprise like 90% of the montage clips.
I wanna see some rampaging with Red Death because that thing is a monster but hard to use effectively.
