  • Judge Boyd, hardened by countless excuses and empty promises, found himself profoundly moved by the mother's raw plea. Her candid admission of the pivotal mistake that derailed her son's path, coupled with her unwavering determination to save him, cut through the courtroom's usual rhetoric. In a room echoing with deflection and blame, her genuine remorse and accountability stood as a stark, poignant contrast, leaving an indelible mark on the seasoned judge.

This mom loves her son. She is so terrified for him she can’t even take a deep breath. He needs more than his mom to grow up. He needs to learn his lesson. Very powerful message from mom to son.

Heartbreaking what some mothers have to go through. We cannot live their lives though. Teach them crime has consequences. My children knew no bail if you are guilty. It makes them think rather than just act. Fortunately they listened.

They get dressed up and come to court to plead for their kid but how many other times has he already been to court that she has done the same thing for?

He doesn’t have to. This is all a show for the judge. She wasn’t able to make him do the right thing before, in multiple times. This is not going to be different. One thing is to scold him in front of a judge that can sentence him, so he won’t talk back or do anything; and another quite different is for her to do it in real life, where he can just ignore her. Which he has been doing consistently. So… yeah, that’s a load of crap.

Her son is an adult, so why is his mommy being encouraged to speak on behalf of her shitty son outside of defending her own honour?
I know that a lot of people love blaming the parents for the actions of their adult children and then will wonder why aren't these people taking personal responsibility for their actions. That woman is not responsible for the choices her son made. Is she supposed to strap him to her back and carry him around forever. People are so damn ridiculous. Stop acting like children can't think for themselves because they most certainly can. It's interesting how the majority of parents are constricted in how they raise their children because then it gets labeled as abuse. So you can't tie a parents hands and then blame them for the actions of their grown children.
That little punk needs to spend time behind bars so that he will finally get to taste the consequences of his actions.

Always a thug in the streets, and a crybaby in the courtroom. He blew his probation off and managed to catch two new cases
He hasn't learned a single thing.

21:03 Where was his mom and her emotion when he was deferred, when he violated, when he stopped showing up? If she needs to stand by to have him act like an adult, sounds as if conservatorship is needed. Either he is an adult or he is not. I suspect he is living on privilege - his education and all these opportunities. Perhaps he will be convicted of family violence - choking before he hurts his daughter or another. I would not have given him yet another chance. He and mom seem to have forgotten that his first second chance was deferred probation, his second second chance was when he wasn’t revoked, his third second chance was when he wasn’t arrested when he stopped the required tests and showing up. (Why couldn’t probation find him?) now he has yet a fourth second chance and as the woman he choked is uncooperative, that would be his fifth second chance. I suspect he will be laughing at Judge Boyd until she actually holds him accountable - seems to me his mom never did this, just was always crying and carrying on as she helped him laugh at authority all his life. Perhaps I am wrong, but that’s what I saw.

I understand the Moms level of emotion, but to say she will make sure that he'll fulfill his obligations let's you know that she does enable in one way or another...as I'm sure we all do, and have.
I've experienced that feeling of helpless pain while worrying about my Nephew's life as he made some horrible life choices...it's not easy.
Just to maybe circumvent the bullshit,..His entire life people have told me "that's not the same thing, ..he's not your child"
..without knowing anything of our relationship or the level of how much I care for him and commit to his well being..
As a Proud White Man, ...😂.(.I always have wanted to show myself how absolutely foolish it would be to identify, lead into and calculate my life based upon announcing my race to begin every conversation I involved myself in...👍..that was fun.). anyway..I do know that if more parents were as invested as that Mom is/was in their child's well-being especially when it's tough.., when it's THE most important time to be there.., the world would be a much better place .

Yeah I think she's a good witness she needs to get him He's an adult so back to where he was doing well and let him go and fulfill his dreams you know it's more positive and nobody knows when they're going to die but you have a better chances in prison I would think maybe not but but he's making the decisions to do unacceptable behavior not his mom

You know exactly what you are doing work work work now you have a child no government assistance for your child you are responsible 🙈 why you blaming yourself mom he’s grown man if every mom got up & cried for their grown son & he got off then no one would be held responsible!!

I blame Johnny Cochran for all this over the top dramatic theatrics. She was thisclose to screaming, “If the glove don’t fit…you must acquit!” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Where's his father? Was this a "strong independent woman" who "didn't need a man" to raise her son? Was government money the daddy?

Are you a man that is portraying yourself as a woman who doesn't need a woman in her life? You are making some real ignorant assumptions.

We could tone down the drama a touch... I often ask myself what the day would be like if, say,..a third of the population were conducting their actions/verbal expression in the same way as a particularly random eccentric or expressive person...
It's a fun daydream that often is good for a few internal chuckles...
...some that 'speak' with their hands would make it a dangerous environment..😅.
