as i want to agree i dont think it will most people have USSR top tier already since its the best top tier so people who has T80UK or at least who get it already have a lineup to hack itself up compared to others like leoPL and M1a1AIMS where more people dont have a top tier in those nations so they 1 death quit in those squad vehicle in anyway if it works in lowering the w/r its temporary, the main issue with USSR is that for some stupid reason my sabot rounds just barely spall even if the sabot pass by few inches from a crew sometimes it makes no spall to hit the crew i just wish they fix the random no spall on USSR T series (i understand the BMP having almost no spall since they have no armor to spall with) sadly i think T90M and T14 armata will be added before that is fixed

I'm a 9 year vet of the game. Here are my thoughts. The grind to get to modern day vehicles is absolutely unacceptable. I don't agree that this is the way to alleviate that problem, but it is our reality and how Gaijin decided to go about making top tier accessible to anyone. I'm of the firm opinion we need a split tech tree like naval has. WW2 and then post WW2. say maybe like 1955ish. made before then, goes in the WW2 tree. After goes in the "modern" tree.
top tier has been a mess for a very long long time, ever since squadron vehicles at top tier have been introduced, it's just taken a turn for the worse (not that it has also before, but this was one major impact in winrates) If they would've just not added top tier squadron vics, im certain it wouldn't be as bad as it is now
As a Russian top tier main i can say that i hate when 60% of my team are T72AV and BMP-2M and die 1 times and then quit in 2 minutes, that let you with 6 teammates against all their team
if all the top mbt tanks were exactly like they were in real life no one would play Russia, the carousel is a ammorack on two tracks and the fact that it has a autoloader with only three crew members makes it even more fragile. And u cant keep on complaining about ur spalling sucks if ure not even dependent on the spalling, u just need to hit one of the ammo's and they're gone. And if gajin were to make it so its easier to spall the Russian MBT's they would have to add new gen Russian tanks with ammo in the turret
I just want Russian tanks to have their spalling/ammo fixed because that would bring such a huge breath of fresh air to what is a bracket just kinda dominated by artificially buffed average tanks

Their reduced received spalling of Russian armour plus the increased spalling of their top round means they are guaranteed a one-shot unless played by a baboon while the opposing side can only be happy with a breech kill or LFP hit with ammo that just disappears without exploding (Side-shots still work about 90% of the time). *Add to that* the fact that Russia simultaneously has the lowest top-tier repair costs while having the most top-tier vehicles (they're all copies with 1% differences) and it's no wonder people are calling bullshit and explaining "Russian Bias".
@@ZETH_27 no the reason is a versatile line up and a lot of tanks that don't cost as much as NATO MBTs and did you know only the T-80BVM and T-72B3 don't spall ? Yeah only two of these tanks and guess what the rest gets oneshotted all the time unlike all the Abrams that i either shoot in the driver and die because it can shoot me back or in the turret ring but if I do that it gets away , there's maybe a tiny portion of the tanks front where you can one shot it unlike Soviet/Russian tanks
@@dominiksoukal this will immediately put all the Russian MBTs at 10.0 or lower. They would be completely worthless without them. T-80U in game is a T-80UM with the thermal upgrade so at least leave that alone. Also the ammo thing is supposed to simulate the aramid covers added to the carousel on newer tanks. It's just not supposed to work on a direct hit but yet it does because gaijin. Also it shouldn't exist on the lower tier tanks.
As a Russian main, I think the one thing few people credit to their top tier lineups' success is the repair costs. Given the economy/research changes a while back, with the rank-based cost system, it's curious that Russia wins so much at the upper battle ratings but has so low repair costs relative to nations like Sweden, Britain, etc. This point leads me back to my opening remark- what I think is going on is that a lot of players spam Russian vehicles since it isn't as big a hit to the Silver Lion balance if you lose 4, 5, 6, or more vehicles. If you have the crew slots and backups to sustain the iron tidal wave, this can certainly contribute to having more players over the duration of a match and securing the win. The algorithm probably sees these vehicles as middling performers (based on kill/death ratios) and assigns the (cheaper) repair costs accordingly. It also helps that they have so many vehicles past 8.3 so you have several options to pump out. If I wanted to secure the win during an absolute bruiser of a match with my 11.0 Brits by using every possible spawn point, I'm going to lose A LOT of backups and/or silver lions.
Definitely a massive factor, being 1-3k cheaper per vehicle than every other nation but China doesn’t seem like much, but when all Russian vehicles are comparable in ability and gameplay it adds up with how many times people spawn
@@greystash1750 This was an issue pointed out years ago with all the T-34 variants they have. A Russian team can be wiped out and come back 2 or 3 times winning matches by brute force.
Nobody is going to convince me there is nothing screwy going on with russian MBTs after I had 3 APFSDS rounds be eaten by the black hole ammo on 3 different tanks, then taking a side shot in the turret ammo with the Abrams blowout panels not working.
Don't really care what people think about this tank. My father served on T-80UKs in the late 80s and early 90s, and I got to sit in one while it drove around as a kid. I am personally very happy to see it.
W.e it's just more stuff to play, and it's because they have so many different top tier tank types that can be added. V.s like Japan or China... And alot of people play Russia, look how many Leopards German gas if you include primiums and event vehicles. Idk i get what your saying but I rather have new vehicles added regardless then not

The T-80u irl has no thermals. In the closing decade of the USSR they could not afford to mass produce the T80uk so went with the stripped down 80u. The UK was delayed in production until 1990 and still only made in small numbers for commander tank only. Gajin needs to strip the thermals off the U to be more in line irl.
T-80UM did exist even if in small numbers, T-80U with the thermal upgrade in game is a T-80UM. T-80UK always has thermals but is also rare. They DID exist however and if prototypes are allowed so should rare tanks.
As you pointed out yourself my biggest gripe with russian top tier is the lack of ammo detonation and spalling when they get penetrated. Very frustrating issue since the Locked On 1.87 update.
Like I said in your BVM video, the spalling is a huge problem at top tier for pretty much everyone and needs to be fixed ASAP it's just that because the russians have so much ERA it affects them a lot more but I don't think there is any bias at all towards Russia in War Thunder, people forget that for a long time US domited top tier with 4 Abrams when that tank was the top best MBT in game while every other nation had 2 MBTs at most with some having only one and pretty much all nations had their time to shine at some point in WT history even the minor ones to some extent. As for the T-80UK I think at the moment it's a good adition and on contrary to what most people are saying it wont make russia more dominant because "rUsSiAn TaNkS oP, aNy OnE cAn pLaY iT" not now neither in the future because nobody spawns 5 MBTs in a single match and if anything it will help to mitigate at least for a while the problem of russian overdominance at top tier by adding bad players to their teams as well and not only to the allied teams with the 2PL and AIM which in my opinion are a big part of the reason why those teams are so weak right now.
totaly agree with the "nobody spawns 5 mbts in a single match". I use 2 in my lineup and if 1 fails i usually just know the second wont work either and go something else. (and if both fail then theres enough sp only for spaa)
If there is no bias then explain the ka 50, 10.7 aa and turmst. Ka 50 being better than every other nations helis while sitting at 10.7 (crazy speed, agility and missles; the missles are very quick, and have the most range in the game... and u get 16 of them). The aa having 4 guns and 8 ready missles sits under Adats and Radbus. The Turmst clearly being a 10.0 - 10.3 tank sits at 9.7. There are others too; you don't see this kind of outright bias with any other nation. In a full downtier, the ka 50 out ranges every aa by atleast 2 km.
@@EasyAL_YT KA-50 doesn't have thermal, which if you ever played helicopters you know how dependable you are of those, the missile does have a 10km maximum range but good luck tryng to use those at that distance specially paired with a helicopter with no thermals, also you don't get 16 missiles, you get 12. The ADATS has the abillity to engage ground vehicles to great effect and the FlakRakRad has the best AA missile in-game. Not only that but USSR lacks an AA at 9.3~10.0 BR range, both US and Germany have multiple. TURMS-T is obviously premium bias, as many other premiums including NATO's are...

The Adats isn't classed as aa, hence it costs more points to bring it out. The Radbus is extremely slow and clunky and is without armour. It also doesn't have a cannon meaning it cannot engage ground targets at all. It gets the best aa missles; sure, but it can only shoot 2 before having to reload. While the tunguska can shoot 8. The tunguskas missles get the job done so I'm struggling to see how you justify its br. You say it's premium bias.... name a premium bias from another nation.

I'm excited because I love this tank. It's a T-80U but with shtora. Shtora is basically useless but this gives me a second T-80U to play. Also top tier squadron vehicles are here to stay for good now. I don't see too big of a problem, especially when new players see modern tanks in the loading screen, want to play modern tanks, but realize you have to grind through dozens of WWII and cold war tanks to get them. This gives them a way to circumvent that if they only like modern. Modern tanks are also so vastly different than old tanks that the argument that "they aren't ready for top tier" doesn't hold. I think it's more "they need to learn WT's mechanics".
For new players, playing with modern tanks are way easier than playing the WW II or cold war tanks. Thermals and good ammunition makes it easier to them.
If Gaijin could somehow split Ground into two groups like they did Naval, players could play the eras they want to play more easily while still keeping the BR ranges. Sure they make less money so we almost certainly won't see it, but I at least think it would be very nice

Hot take, Wallet Warriors aren't going away anytime soon, Can we PLEASE have premium tanks/ Squad Vehicles get 3 spawns so the teammates I have are more useful than dying once and leaving? I wouldn't mind new players in top tier personally if they could contribute more. Even if they're dying repeatedly that's still bodies in the match I can use for bait or w/e.
adding such top tier squadron tanks was never a good idea and as you said it's only gonna get worse from here. but at least you can take a bit of solace in that when minor nations start getting such vehicles it won't have such a big effect on top tier's ecosystem as when the big three got them.
-Japan will never get a decent one (all type 90s have been added and squadron type 10 hell no) -neither will Italy (all Arietes have been added) -Israel might some day, there's still a shit ton of merkava sub-variants -France maybe could get some kind of leclerc that hasn't been added yet. -China probably can get one tho. Type 99 with a soft kill APS could be an option

I’m happy with the premium system as someone who doesn’t have nor want to put hours and hours into a game can still experience high tier/ modern stuff.
if you dont want to put the hours in you shouldnt be able to play with those who put in the effort for so long, just by opening your wallet, as most people who buy these dont have a clue how to even play the game so will just ruin the game for those who are experienced

@@pierspinelli8352 The repair cost problem is one that I as a 6 year vet of the game still completely understand as it is a struggle for anyone not on premium time or a ton of premium vehicles. My method as somone who hasnt run premium time is to stomp at 5.7 Germany and prioritise capture points with the panther A. But yep i feel ya man

I like the thought of every nation getting a top tier vehicle for new players to access what they see the game being advertised as. They just need to implement a ranked lobby for the try hards. That way every one can be happy

I don't know if I'm correct or not, the reason USSR top tier doesn't spall is because of the fuel tanks. They eat all the spall from the initial enter, then either pop (which kills the tank immediately) or don't, but if they don't die from fuel tank explosion the round just goes through doing nothing. Thing is, most NATO tanks have a 5/10 mm steel plate behind most fuel tanks that are in the crew compartment, so if shell goes in the fuel tank absorbs all the initial spall, goes through the fuel tank, then enters the steel plate and creates spall there. So russians not protecting their crew properly IRL actually makes their tanks more survivable in my opinion. Ironic.

The Russian army really only keeps those on for anti-infantry, that tech was outdated against tanks almost as soon as it was in mass production, but even here in the US our Abrams use it. It's just built into the panels instead of being layered on top

Yeah the real Russian bias isn't in the vehicles themselves but how Russia always gets a truck load of stuff every update. And the rare times Russia doesn't get much in an update you can bet they will be the main focus of the next.
I legit don’t have time to just grind. Gaijin did working professionals a solid and gave us the ability, in a way, to skip the long grind. Sure my skills aren’t on par with those who play hundreds of hours but I’m able to get into the tanks/planes/helicopters generally I want and have fun.
1:30 personally I disagree as if I didn’t buy the 2pl I would have never fell in love with war thunder now I have both the American and Russian ground trees almost completely done (got everything I wanted) I tried playing low tiers but I don’t find the enjoyment that I do in top tier.
Like I've said before, the only problem with premium/squadron vehicles is that they are so easily accessible, a good player having this type of vehicle isn't a problem, they'll use it on a line up to its full potential unlike many of the new and clueless players. Also, Russia didn't really need this, it already has a stacked up line up as is but don't forget something, Gaijin cannot miss their chance to make an extra buck.
So when I was playing 9.7 Russia the only time we lost is when the team was full of Turms who left after 1 death 'with was frequently' new player buy top tier tank and donno what there doing, I'm worrying about the new ones there adding and now drones... Top tier can already be annoying, I feel like these choices are gonna drive me away from wanting to play it at all.
Why they dont just lock the research until you get a certain rank like if t80UK is rank 7 you need to be atleast rank6 on the same techtree or even in the others trees
I think they should do what they did with the M-61 except for all squadron vehicles... 3/3 free backups per match so we don't have the one death and leave situation.
The only thing I would change for the squadrons vehicules is that to get acces to them you must have a similiar Br in the techtree. But Gaijin will never do that as theses vehicules are the best way for them to gain money.
And as always in your opinion and most of the community's the Russians are op again.... I have an Idea, why don't we make NATO extremely op so players won't be complaining about how the tanks don't stay true to reality (aka propaganda)
US rlly need modern versions of the abrams, their top tier tank lacks good thermals and armor, the only place where m1a2 have "armor" is the turret cheeks, nothing more not even the upper plate above the driver which is 80° angled, it cant be Penetrated... it only bounce/shatters the incoming shell, but that doesnt happen in game...

I personaly as Soviet main have some word about soviet tanks in general, Everything is balance until the top tier environment where it have the on par technology of the west. The OP tier is Top tier like 10.7 - 11.3 other than that the soviet it balance-ish. I also expirience that spooling dont happen on BVM and B3 11.0 but anything below that just pop from that near engine fuel tank and ammo TLDR : BVM and B3 are crazy good/overperfom other than that its quite balance line up. Like T-80U have similar capabilities but less turret traverse which kill me A lot cause abrams and leo can just swing it like crazy. Russian 9.7 didnt really have fire and forget cas. No missile AA bellow 10.7 and i can go to talk more about this expirience
Soviet 10.0 is a joke MBT wise , the T-72B 1989 is literally a 72B with K-5 on it and that's all no new dart or thermals (it's the only 10.0 without any) and the same mobility etc... And It spalls like you said Ryzki Guruh

I noticed you complained about the T-80U having gen 1 thermals. While this is a valid point for such a high-tier tank I think it’s also very important to remember that all top-tier US tanks have gen 1 thermals except for the Stryker, M1A1 AIM and the M3A3 Bradley. Not to mention the Leopard 2s in Germany have gen 1 too except for the 2a6 which has gen 2 commander thermals. In my opinion it is very unfair that so many top-tier tanks get higher gen thermals while the US and Germany still have to sit with gen 1 for the most part. The T-80BVM even gets gen 3 thermals which just doesn’t make any sense balance wise.
Germany gets both 2a5 and 2a6 with CITV plus a handful f IFVs and light tanks with gen2 or gen3 for both (PUMA, TAM2C come to mind). Russia has commander thermals for... Nothing actually. Oh wait, the TURMS and one shitty light tank have it. That's it. USA also kinda lacks CITV but at least gaijin gave the .50cal on the AIM thermals like it does irl. You can use this as a kind of CITV.
If anyone remembers this all started when the Magach and F-86 premiums came out. That's also when the term "wallet warrior" started to popularize. But yeah blame people who bought the Magach then the Sabres.
It always amazes me just how many fucking variants of Russian mbts there are. I would love to see more “obscure” vehicles added. More wheeled vehicles, French vehicles, and I would love to see naval expanded upon.
Of course if you add every minor variation of a tank as a seperate vehicle you will get a bloated tech tree. Same thing goes for Leopards. The T80UK could have simply been a researchable modification of the T80U but Gaijin has to make quick money with low effort.
what you want is the wheeled fun stuff.. USSR has BTR's and BRDM's... you can have BTR-60/70 folder at like 4.0... it has a SINGLE 14.5mm High cal MG... BTR-152A ingame has double of the,... and there is a BRDM which is like an R3- T20 but with 14.5mm... BUT there is a SPAA variant... SAM variant that is,,, an ATGM carrier variant... and now this one idk if it's official but there is an Rocket pod from helicopter strapped on a BRDM so it's an artillery / mini katyusha thing... there is a BTR-90 variant which is literally a BMP-2M but on WHEELS... it has same exact turret but instead of tracks it gets WHEELS... so easily BMP-2M but tech tree and wheels right there... and apparently there is a BTR-82A which as 30mm and possible ATGM... and that one is a bit weird since idk if i am confusing it with an old BTR 90 or something idk... it;'s hella confusion... also that 30mm on BTR's is the same gun from BMP-2/M also there is Pantsir S1 which is basically Tunguska with better missiles and this one that i mean is put on a Ural truck... so Tunguska on a TRUCK... how AWESOME would that be lol ... it's kinda perfect counter to FlakRakRad the german Truck AA xD... but ofc gaijin doesn't wanna add any of those... they can even add a Ural truck but fitted with 23mm gun that's on BTR-ZD at around same BR but that would be too much fun and cool looking lol
I thought they'd add the T-80UM(-1 or -2) or something but the T-80UK? Meh, it is what it is. I don't know whether or not to feel schadenfreude that the last of the big 3 finally has a top top tier squadron vehicle to bring down the winrate or sadness that top tier is going to have more green players in it, either way I wholly expected this.
I have zero issue with people being able to pay to get to top tier.. none what so ever. It took me years to get just about every vehicle in the game and honestly thats annoying. Means I have more people to face at top tier(my favorite tier)
Atleast one reasonable person, not gatekeeping anyone. Trying to reach top tier would take you a LOT of time. And by the time you are already far enought in the tree, you start feeling repair costs. So many of these grinding, casual players, who play maybe 2-3 matches max a day, want to have a taste of actually good, fast tank. And squadron vehicles just do that. And even these squadron vehicles, you still need to grind them, for 3 months nonetheless, and then buy and crew them. These old 'veterans' are just whinny that new players don't have to spent hundreds of hours just to play alongside them, effectively, rendering their time spent in game useless.
IRL: Abrams in Yemen and Iraq didn't perform too good. Same can be said about turkish Leopard 2 in Syria. Considering how many modern AT weapons are sent to Urkraine, and how well their troops are trained to use those weapons, I highly doubt that any current MBTs would fair any better. Therefore, please, don't compare this game to real life. It is just a game.
The training of the crews in abrams and leos was not great in Yemen and Iraq so thats why they struggled in those conflicts. But yes superior infantry at weapons would cause any tank force issues in a modern war with poor infantry support. The thing that annoys people is that the primary design concession of Russian tanks that is their ammo rack placement is artificially made not a major issue at all by gaijin modifiers. Also Russian tanks are simply worse than nato tanks irl there is no two ways about it and I'm glad to see russia get slaughtered in Ukraine as they deserve
What? Abrams performed very well in Iraq ( gulf war and second Iraq war ). You mean Iraqi M1A1M? And every top NATO MBT today would do better than Russian scrap due to better situational awareness, better survivability, better ergonomics, better armor, CITV and advanced BMS, better electronics and more... + NATO crews are better trained and NATO is better at functioning of combined arms. it is enough to have a very good APS system like trophy, which will give you much more freedom to move around the battlefield and will protect you from ATGM and RPG fire. In 2014, during Operation Protective edge no Merkava was destroyed due to Trophy system, it intercepted many rockets primarily modern ones like Kornet, as well as Metis-M and RPG-29.

I think the worst aspect of this isn't people going to top tier without map knowledge, etc - if anything, top tier requires WAY less skill with NVD, flat trajectory APFSDS, basically useless armor, etc. The HUGE issue is people without a LINEUP playing top tier. I think great players like professional streamers forget exactly 50% of the players will die without a kill with their first vehicle. Guess what, that's one less player to the team. The lineup system is the most idiotic, borderline absurd system in ANY game I ever played, but it is what it is, and thus allowing people with just a single vehicle to enter a game is the worst thing you could do for a team and unfair to all players.
i dont play WT for like a year or two now ... i mostly dont like how vehicles feel in this game, like toys, you have these stabilizers or thermal which make things soo much easier, you can just aim and snap targets with a blink of en eye, just like in some FPS shooter, but thats the thing, youre operating a big heavy tank, not some dude with a pistol ... there is a lack of that machine feeling ... you just drive abrams like its some kind of toy or go-kart ... games like Squad or Post Scriptum make these vehicles feel a bit more like a machine, and just sound design or partice effects adds up to the whole experience, something that WT is highly lacking
i mean if i shoot a t80u and hit 10 charges i expect it to be dead 100% but i guss not i dont have a problem with no spalling (still bs) but if i hit ammo directly i expect a kill

As a newer player buying the Uk is hard for someone inexperienced in my opinion. its expensive with no RP/SL bonuses. Completely stock.. You pay full SL price for the tank as if its a TT vehicle. Then full price to crew it. With your weak lvl40 crew I dont reall see any advantage in buying it
This tank will maybe make top tier for other nations better for a short time but after all the people who bought their way up, got their asses kicked and left, it will make the BR even stronger for russia
I’ve also personally noticed that a lot of NATO players are also just not very good at the game sometimes. When playing the Russian vehicles I’ve noticed my teams only steamroll because the opposite team just has less experience against Russian MBTs.
People who say USSR tanks are easy to kill obviously dont play against them often enough and probably actually play them and complain when they feel "cheesed". USSR weakspots are tiny at the front, while the weakspots of the tanks they face are massive in comparison. Yes their side is basically a guaranteed kill as long as it isnt a BVM but honestly that goes for pretty much all tanks. if you catch someone at their side odds are you're gonna kill or cripple them. USSR has tons of ERA and based on my experience with the ERA not meant to counter kinetic munitions, the game simply cannot seem to handle the era. countless times i have had 500mm+ pen APFSDS just be completely absorbed by a tiny little ERA brick on a TURMS that only has like 5mm of Kinetic protection at point blank. Not only that but russia and china of all nations seem to have this odd ability to just take a shell to the barrel directly and it does 0 damage whatsoever yet the hit cam shows you hit it directly and it doesnt even change color. Not to mention the known issue with their ammo not going off for some reason and they have little to no spall when you hit them. Sorry but if i turn 3-4 rounds of your ammo black, you should explode... especially considering sometimes my ammo gets set off and i die and all they did was graze it and turn it piss yellow. All this squadron vehicle is going to do is lower the winrate yes.. but people dont realize thats not really entirely what matters, all thats going to do is hide the actual issue that is making USSR so blatantly overpowered and hide what is actually making them have a 70%+ winrate. Its just going to smother the real problem so gaijin can say "but the winrate is down comrade, USSR balansed!!"
As an American main I get the exact same experience in my m1a2 as you just stated I can shoot a bvm or b3 or even a t90 in the side with m829a2 and era will magically absorb my entire round just for them to shoot me anywhere and I die instantly this happens usually 50-60% of the time facing Russia

It needs to be fixed or optimized so it happens less. Especially since those 2 nations basically make their tanks entirely out of ERA and no one else does.

The real issue with Russia is that you have literally a small lineup of squadron viechles, for players such as me who has never touched the Russian ground tree tho I have researched the bmp2m as light viechle, the su22m as cas and with this new t-80 I have a main battle tank in the future, all without actually grinding through the tech tree
Just tried playing German top tier lost 8/10 games the only games that I won i felt i won incredibly cheaply as all we did was drive in get one kill with our leopards, die and spawn in out tiger UHTs and simply overwhelmed them with PLARS, even so we all died at least once.
With the fuel combustion gayjin have to add a limited fuel to tanks. During ww2 russia found that the fuel tanks will not explode if they are full. This is because liquid cannot be a combustible. The vapor are very flammable though so if fuel tanks are low you would have a higher chance to blow up. But how they have it now is the gas which cannot become flammable will kill you
The T-80UK is a good thing for the sole purpose of reducing the Russian win rate.

in anyway if it works in lowering the w/r its temporary, the main issue with USSR is that for some stupid reason my sabot rounds just barely spall even if the sabot pass by few inches from a crew sometimes it makes no spall to hit the crew

I'm a 9 year vet of the game. Here are my thoughts.
The grind to get to modern day vehicles is absolutely unacceptable. I don't agree that this is the way to alleviate that problem, but it is our reality and how Gaijin decided to go about making top tier accessible to anyone. I'm of the firm opinion we need a split tech tree like naval has. WW2 and then post WW2. say maybe like 1955ish. made before then, goes in the WW2 tree. After goes in the "modern" tree.
Fun fact: the K stands for command, this is because this tank is equipped with radios (and shtora 1) used to command company’s, battalions, etc.
top tier has been a mess for a very long long time, ever since squadron vehicles at top tier have been introduced, it's just taken a turn for the worse (not that it has also before, but this was one major impact in winrates)

Their reduced received spalling of Russian armour plus the increased spalling of their top round means they are guaranteed a one-shot unless played by a baboon while the opposing side can only be happy with a breech kill or LFP hit with ammo that just disappears without exploding (Side-shots still work about 90% of the time).
*Add to that* the fact that Russia simultaneously has the lowest top-tier repair costs while having the most top-tier vehicles (they're all copies with 1% differences) and it's no wonder people are calling bullshit and explaining "Russian Bias".

Yeah only two of these tanks and guess what the rest gets oneshotted all the time unlike all the Abrams that i either shoot in the driver and die because it can shoot me back or in the turret ring but if I do that it gets away , there's maybe a tiny portion of the tanks front where you can one shot it unlike Soviet/Russian tanks

Also the ammo thing is supposed to simulate the aramid covers added to the carousel on newer tanks. It's just not supposed to work on a direct hit but yet it does because gaijin. Also it shouldn't exist on the lower tier tanks.
As a Russian main, I think the one thing few people credit to their top tier lineups' success is the repair costs. Given the economy/research changes a while back, with the rank-based cost system, it's curious that Russia wins so much at the upper battle ratings but has so low repair costs relative to nations like Sweden, Britain, etc. This point leads me back to my opening remark- what I think is going on is that a lot of players spam Russian vehicles since it isn't as big a hit to the Silver Lion balance if you lose 4, 5, 6, or more vehicles. If you have the crew slots and backups to sustain the iron tidal wave, this can certainly contribute to having more players over the duration of a match and securing the win. The algorithm probably sees these vehicles as middling performers (based on kill/death ratios) and assigns the (cheaper) repair costs accordingly. It also helps that they have so many vehicles past 8.3 so you have several options to pump out. If I wanted to secure the win during an absolute bruiser of a match with my 11.0 Brits by using every possible spawn point, I'm going to lose A LOT of backups and/or silver lions.
Definitely a massive factor, being 1-3k cheaper per vehicle than every other nation but China doesn’t seem like much, but when all Russian vehicles are comparable in ability and gameplay it adds up with how many times people spawn

@@greystash1750 This was an issue pointed out years ago with all the T-34 variants they have. A Russian team can be wiped out and come back 2 or 3 times winning matches by brute force.

Don't really care what people think about this tank. My father served on T-80UKs in the late 80s and early 90s, and I got to sit in one while it drove around as a kid. I am personally very happy to see it.

The T-80u irl has no thermals. In the closing decade of the USSR they could not afford to mass produce the T80uk so went with the stripped down 80u. The UK was delayed in production until 1990 and still only made in small numbers for commander tank only. Gajin needs to strip the thermals off the U to be more in line irl.
But if you do that you'd have to bring the T-80U down in BR
T-80UM did exist even if in small numbers, T-80U with the thermal upgrade in game is a T-80UM. T-80UK always has thermals but is also rare. They DID exist however and if prototypes are allowed so should rare tanks.
As you pointed out yourself my biggest gripe with russian top tier is the lack of ammo detonation and spalling when they get penetrated. Very frustrating issue since the Locked On 1.87 update.
Like I said in your BVM video, the spalling is a huge problem at top tier for pretty much everyone and needs to be fixed ASAP it's just that because the russians have so much ERA it affects them a lot more but I don't think there is any bias at all towards Russia in War Thunder, people forget that for a long time US domited top tier with 4 Abrams when that tank was the top best MBT in game while every other nation had 2 MBTs at most with some having only one and pretty much all nations had their time to shine at some point in WT history even the minor ones to some extent.
As for the T-80UK I think at the moment it's a good adition and on contrary to what most people are saying it wont make russia more dominant because "rUsSiAn TaNkS oP, aNy OnE cAn pLaY iT" not now neither in the future because nobody spawns 5 MBTs in a single match and if anything it will help to mitigate at least for a while the problem of russian overdominance at top tier by adding bad players to their teams as well and not only to the allied teams with the 2PL and AIM which in my opinion are a big part of the reason why those teams are so weak right now.
totaly agree with the "nobody spawns 5 mbts in a single match". I use 2 in my lineup and if 1 fails i usually just know the second wont work either and go something else. (and if both fail then theres enough sp only for spaa)

Ka 50 being better than every other nations helis while sitting at 10.7 (crazy speed, agility and missles; the missles are very quick, and have the most range in the game... and u get 16 of them).
The aa having 4 guns and 8 ready missles sits under Adats and Radbus.
The Turmst clearly being a 10.0 - 10.3 tank sits at 9.7. There are others too; you don't see this kind of outright bias with any other nation.
In a full downtier, the ka 50 out ranges every aa by atleast 2 km.
@@EasyAL_YT KA-50 doesn't have thermal, which if you ever played helicopters you know how dependable you are of those, the missile does have a 10km maximum range but good luck tryng to use those at that distance specially paired with a helicopter with no thermals, also you don't get 16 missiles, you get 12.
The ADATS has the abillity to engage ground vehicles to great effect and the FlakRakRad has the best AA missile in-game. Not only that but USSR lacks an AA at 9.3~10.0 BR range, both US and Germany have multiple.

The Adats isn't classed as aa, hence it costs more points to bring it out.
The Radbus is extremely slow and clunky and is without armour. It also doesn't have a cannon meaning it cannot engage ground targets at all. It gets the best aa missles; sure, but it can only shoot 2 before having to reload. While the tunguska can shoot 8.
The tunguskas missles get the job done so I'm struggling to see how you justify its br.

I'm excited because I love this tank. It's a T-80U but with shtora. Shtora is basically useless but this gives me a second T-80U to play.
Also top tier squadron vehicles are here to stay for good now. I don't see too big of a problem, especially when new players see modern tanks in the loading screen, want to play modern tanks, but realize you have to grind through dozens of WWII and cold war tanks to get them. This gives them a way to circumvent that if they only like modern. Modern tanks are also so vastly different than old tanks that the argument that "they aren't ready for top tier" doesn't hold. I think it's more "they need to learn WT's mechanics".
For new players, playing with modern tanks are way easier than playing the WW II or cold war tanks.
Thermals and good ammunition makes it easier to them.
If Gaijin could somehow split Ground into two groups like they did Naval, players could play the eras they want to play more easily while still keeping the BR ranges. Sure they make less money so we almost certainly won't see it, but I at least think it would be very nice

I wouldn't mind new players in top tier personally if they could contribute more. Even if they're dying repeatedly that's still bodies in the match I can use for bait or w/e.
adding such top tier squadron tanks was never a good idea and as you said it's only gonna get worse from here. but at least you can take a bit of solace in that when minor nations start getting such vehicles it won't have such a big effect on top tier's ecosystem as when the big three got them.

My method as somone who hasnt run premium time is to stomp at 5.7 Germany and prioritise capture points with the panther A. But yep i feel ya man

I don't know if I'm correct or not, the reason USSR top tier doesn't spall is because of the fuel tanks. They eat all the spall from the initial enter, then either pop (which kills the tank immediately) or don't, but if they don't die from fuel tank explosion the round just goes through doing nothing. Thing is, most NATO tanks have a 5/10 mm steel plate behind most fuel tanks that are in the crew compartment, so if shell goes in the fuel tank absorbs all the initial spall, goes through the fuel tank, then enters the steel plate and creates spall there. So russians not protecting their crew properly IRL actually makes their tanks more survivable in my opinion. Ironic.

The Russian army really only keeps those on for anti-infantry, that tech was outdated against tanks almost as soon as it was in mass production, but even here in the US our Abrams use it. It's just built into the panels instead of being layered on top

I legit don’t have time to just grind. Gaijin did working professionals a solid and gave us the ability, in a way, to skip the long grind.
Sure my skills aren’t on par with those who play hundreds of hours but I’m able to get into the tanks/planes/helicopters generally I want and have fun.

Like I've said before, the only problem with premium/squadron vehicles is that they are so easily accessible, a good player having this type of vehicle isn't a problem, they'll use it on a line up to its full potential unlike many of the new and clueless players. Also, Russia didn't really need this, it already has a stacked up line up as is but don't forget something, Gaijin cannot miss their chance to make an extra buck.
So when I was playing 9.7 Russia the only time we lost is when the team was full of Turms who left after 1 death 'with was frequently' new player buy top tier tank and donno what there doing, I'm worrying about the new ones there adding and now drones... Top tier can already be annoying, I feel like these choices are gonna drive me away from wanting to play it at all.
Actually Britain has the largest top tier lineup with 4 tanks slinging L27A1.

The only thing I would change for the squadrons vehicules is that to get acces to them you must have a similiar Br in the techtree.
But Gaijin will never do that as theses vehicules are the best way for them to gain money.

US rlly need modern versions of the abrams, their top tier tank lacks good thermals and armor, the only place where m1a2 have "armor" is the turret cheeks, nothing more not even the upper plate above the driver which is 80° angled, it cant be Penetrated... it only bounce/shatters the incoming shell, but that doesnt happen in game...

I personaly as Soviet main have some word about soviet tanks in general, Everything is balance until the top tier environment where it have the on par technology of the west. The OP tier is Top tier like 10.7 - 11.3 other than that the soviet it balance-ish.
I also expirience that spooling dont happen on BVM and B3 11.0 but anything below that just pop from that near engine fuel tank and ammo
TLDR : BVM and B3 are crazy good/overperfom other than that its quite balance line up. Like T-80U have similar capabilities but less turret traverse which kill me A lot cause abrams and leo can just swing it like crazy. Russian 9.7 didnt really have fire and forget cas. No missile AA bellow 10.7 and i can go to talk more about this expirience
Soviet 10.0 is a joke MBT wise , the T-72B 1989 is literally a 72B with K-5 on it and that's all no new dart or thermals (it's the only 10.0 without any) and the same mobility etc... And It spalls like you said Ryzki Guruh

I noticed you complained about the T-80U having gen 1 thermals. While this is a valid point for such a high-tier tank I think it’s also very important to remember that all top-tier US tanks have gen 1 thermals except for the Stryker, M1A1 AIM and the M3A3 Bradley. Not to mention the Leopard 2s in Germany have gen 1 too except for the 2a6 which has gen 2 commander thermals.
In my opinion it is very unfair that so many top-tier tanks get higher gen thermals while the US and Germany still have to sit with gen 1 for the most part.
The T-80BVM even gets gen 3 thermals which just doesn’t make any sense balance wise.
Germany gets both 2a5 and 2a6 with CITV plus a handful f IFVs and light tanks with gen2 or gen3 for both (PUMA, TAM2C come to mind). Russia has commander thermals for... Nothing actually. Oh wait, the TURMS and one shitty light tank have it. That's it. USA also kinda lacks CITV but at least gaijin gave the .50cal on the AIM thermals like it does irl. You can use this as a kind of CITV.

It always amazes me just how many fucking variants of Russian mbts there are. I would love to see more “obscure” vehicles added. More wheeled vehicles, French vehicles, and I would love to see naval expanded upon.
Of course if you add every minor variation of a tank as a seperate vehicle you will get a bloated tech tree. Same thing goes for Leopards. The T80UK could have simply been a researchable modification of the T80U but Gaijin has to make quick money with low effort.

USSR has BTR's and BRDM's... you can have BTR-60/70 folder at like 4.0... it has a SINGLE 14.5mm High cal MG... BTR-152A ingame has double of the,... and there is a BRDM which is like an R3- T20 but with 14.5mm... BUT there is a SPAA variant... SAM variant that is,,, an ATGM carrier variant... and now this one idk if it's official but there is an Rocket pod from helicopter strapped on a BRDM so it's an artillery / mini katyusha thing...
there is a BTR-90 variant which is literally a BMP-2M but on WHEELS... it has same exact turret but instead of tracks it gets WHEELS... so easily BMP-2M but tech tree and wheels right there... and apparently there is a BTR-82A which as 30mm and possible ATGM... and that one is a bit weird since idk if i am confusing it with an old BTR 90 or something idk... it;'s hella confusion... also that 30mm on BTR's is the same gun from BMP-2/M
also there is Pantsir S1 which is basically Tunguska with better missiles and this one that i mean is put on a Ural truck... so Tunguska on a TRUCK... how AWESOME would that be lol ... it's kinda perfect counter to FlakRakRad the german Truck AA xD... but ofc gaijin doesn't wanna add any of those... they can even add a Ural truck but fitted with 23mm gun that's on BTR-ZD at around same BR but that would be too much fun and cool looking lol
I thought they'd add the T-80UM(-1 or -2) or something but the T-80UK? Meh, it is what it is. I don't know whether or not to feel schadenfreude that the last of the big 3 finally has a top top tier squadron vehicle to bring down the winrate or sadness that top tier is going to have more green players in it, either way I wholly expected this.
I think the T-80UM will be added at 11.3, same with the T-90M

I have zero issue with people being able to pay to get to top tier.. none what so ever. It took me years to get just about every vehicle in the game and honestly thats annoying. Means I have more people to face at top tier(my favorite tier)
Atleast one reasonable person, not gatekeeping anyone. Trying to reach top tier would take you a LOT of time. And by the time you are already far enought in the tree, you start feeling repair costs. So many of these grinding, casual players, who play maybe 2-3 matches max a day, want to have a taste of actually good, fast tank. And squadron vehicles just do that. And even these squadron vehicles, you still need to grind them, for 3 months nonetheless, and then buy and crew them. These old 'veterans' are just whinny that new players don't have to spent hundreds of hours just to play alongside them, effectively, rendering their time spent in game useless.

IRL: Abrams in Yemen and Iraq didn't perform too good. Same can be said about turkish Leopard 2 in Syria.
Considering how many modern AT weapons are sent to Urkraine, and how well their troops are trained to use those weapons, I highly doubt that any current MBTs would fair any better.
Therefore, please, don't compare this game to real life. It is just a game.
It was more in reference to the TOW2B and other "Top Attack" missiles that have almost zero effect on Russian tanks, or tanks in general xP
The training of the crews in abrams and leos was not great in Yemen and Iraq so thats why they struggled in those conflicts. But yes superior infantry at weapons would cause any tank force issues in a modern war with poor infantry support.
The thing that annoys people is that the primary design concession of Russian tanks that is their ammo rack placement is artificially made not a major issue at all by gaijin modifiers.
Also Russian tanks are simply worse than nato tanks irl there is no two ways about it and I'm glad to see russia get slaughtered in Ukraine as they deserve

What? Abrams performed very well in Iraq ( gulf war and second Iraq war ). You mean Iraqi M1A1M? And every top NATO MBT today would do better than Russian scrap due to better situational awareness, better survivability, better ergonomics, better armor, CITV and advanced BMS, better electronics and more... + NATO crews are better trained and NATO is better at functioning of combined arms. it is enough to have a very good APS system like trophy, which will give you much more freedom to move around the battlefield and will protect you from ATGM and RPG fire. In 2014, during Operation Protective edge no Merkava was destroyed due to Trophy system, it intercepted many rockets primarily modern ones like Kornet, as well as Metis-M and RPG-29.

I don't know man I like the talking head vids. Even on your usual game play videos I sometimes watch the the intro part in the hangar and often just skip thru to final impressions albeit after watching some game play parts. That's just me tho. Also keep up the great content :D

I think the worst aspect of this isn't people going to top tier without map knowledge, etc - if anything, top tier requires WAY less skill with NVD, flat trajectory APFSDS, basically useless armor, etc. The HUGE issue is people without a LINEUP playing top tier.
I think great players like professional streamers forget exactly 50% of the players will die without a kill with their first vehicle. Guess what, that's one less player to the team. The lineup system is the most idiotic, borderline absurd system in ANY game I ever played, but it is what it is, and thus allowing people with just a single vehicle to enter a game is the worst thing you could do for a team and unfair to all players.

i dont play WT for like a year or two now ... i mostly dont like how vehicles feel in this game, like toys, you have these stabilizers or thermal which make things soo much easier, you can just aim and snap targets with a blink of en eye, just like in some FPS shooter, but thats the thing, youre operating a big heavy tank, not some dude with a pistol ... there is a lack of that machine feeling ... you just drive abrams like its some kind of toy or go-kart ... games like Squad or Post Scriptum make these vehicles feel a bit more like a machine, and just sound design or partice effects adds up to the whole experience, something that WT is highly lacking

As a newer player buying the Uk is hard for someone inexperienced in my opinion. its expensive with no RP/SL bonuses. Completely stock.. You pay full SL price for the tank as if its a TT vehicle. Then full price to crew it. With your weak lvl40 crew I dont reall see any advantage in buying it

This tank will maybe make top tier for other nations better for a short time but after all the people who bought their way up, got their asses kicked and left, it will make the BR even stronger for russia
I’ve also personally noticed that a lot of NATO players are also just not very good at the game sometimes. When playing the Russian vehicles I’ve noticed my teams only steamroll because the opposite team just has less experience against Russian MBTs.
I want it but I'm afraid of the module grind. It ruined my T-72 Moderna for me already.
People who say USSR tanks are easy to kill obviously dont play against them often enough and probably actually play them and complain when they feel "cheesed". USSR weakspots are tiny at the front, while the weakspots of the tanks they face are massive in comparison. Yes their side is basically a guaranteed kill as long as it isnt a BVM but honestly that goes for pretty much all tanks. if you catch someone at their side odds are you're gonna kill or cripple them. USSR has tons of ERA and based on my experience with the ERA not meant to counter kinetic munitions, the game simply cannot seem to handle the era. countless times i have had 500mm+ pen APFSDS just be completely absorbed by a tiny little ERA brick on a TURMS that only has like 5mm of Kinetic protection at point blank. Not only that but russia and china of all nations seem to have this odd ability to just take a shell to the barrel directly and it does 0 damage whatsoever yet the hit cam shows you hit it directly and it doesnt even change color. Not to mention the known issue with their ammo not going off for some reason and they have little to no spall when you hit them. Sorry but if i turn 3-4 rounds of your ammo black, you should explode... especially considering sometimes my ammo gets set off and i die and all they did was graze it and turn it piss yellow.
All this squadron vehicle is going to do is lower the winrate yes.. but people dont realize thats not really entirely what matters, all thats going to do is hide the actual issue that is making USSR so blatantly overpowered and hide what is actually making them have a 70%+ winrate. Its just going to smother the real problem so gaijin can say "but the winrate is down comrade, USSR balansed!!"
As an American main I get the exact same experience in my m1a2 as you just stated I can shoot a bvm or b3 or even a t90 in the side with m829a2 and era will magically absorb my entire round just for them to shoot me anywhere and I die instantly this happens usually 50-60% of the time facing Russia

@@Kwisss yeah but the few times I got gaijin I shot a t90 in the side and it’s 5mm fabric screen absorbed my round and one time it’s little armor plates on the side absorbed my sabot and then he shot me and it instantly one tapped me frontal
@@wellijosh7431 the engine can't seem to handle the amount of ERA on the Russian and Chinese tanks and it seems to constantly fuck up trying to calculate it. It needs to be fixed or optimized so it happens less. Especially since those 2 nations basically make their tanks entirely out of ERA and no one else does.

I just finishe grinding the hole rusian ground tech tree , now with thes tank the 10.7 rusian lineup will be verry strong. Love the video😀.
The real issue with Russia is that you have literally a small lineup of squadron viechles, for players such as me who has never touched the Russian ground tree tho I have researched the bmp2m as light viechle, the su22m as cas and with this new t-80 I have a main battle tank in the future, all without actually grinding through the tech tree
That is part of the problem, the grind "should" be natural.. And this nullifies the experience
Just tried playing German top tier lost 8/10 games the only games that I won i felt i won incredibly cheaply as all we did was drive in get one kill with our leopards, die and spawn in out tiger UHTs and simply overwhelmed them with PLARS, even so we all died at least once.
With the fuel combustion gayjin have to add a limited fuel to tanks. During ww2 russia found that the fuel tanks will not explode if they are full. This is because liquid cannot be a combustible. The vapor are very flammable though so if fuel tanks are low you would have a higher chance to blow up. But how they have it now is the gas which cannot become flammable will kill you
