I’m a woman, who loves clean but feminine scents… I purchased a decant of Gris Charnel and am in love but need something more budget friendly. Thanks for the recommendations. Oh and a tip for ladies, I layered it to make it more feminine. Out of the shower I sprayed Bath and Body Works aromatherapy Orange and Ginger oil. Then I used Elizabeth Arden White Tea body cream and edt. Finally sprayed Gris Charnel all over my clothes. People stopped me all day wanting to know my fragrance, my co worker kept sniffing me😁
Great review. Love the scent, but George is correct. I made the mistake of doing about 7 sprays for work and it was a bit much for summer. I'd try again with about 3 sprays for the desired effect during summer as this does progect and is a good performer😊
I just got this and love it soooo much but it hardly lasts 3hrs on my skin which is disappointing. Can you recommend something that has same DNA for me cos I love this a whole lot
Haven’t tried any of their new niche line frags yet. Around here they are super expensive atm, priced at Nishane and some Xerjoff levels which is crazy expensive if you ask me..
i just got gris charnel and i am obsessed. i am a women would you say that it's still unisex like the OG ? I love it i always wear it and get complimented however it is so expensive i want to keep it 😀
This maybe leans slightly more masculine compared to the original but it’s still a very unisex scent, especially the dry down where it turns powdery on my skin :) If you can sample it before buying I would suggest doing so :)
I'm female and I think it's very unisex, and to my nose even more feminine. To a woman it would be a beautiful clean and even sexy scent..to a man it would just be a clean, powdery scent. You'd absolutely smell nice but it's not sexy to me on a man..mostly clean
I have a Gris Charnel clone I feel is fantastic from Fragrance World called Francique 63.55 . At $40 , this y is an absolute steal and one of my top buys of 2023. Of course not same quality as the BDK , but in the air about 90 % close .
I’ve heard good things about the FW clone, but as I’ve said before, FW frags are really hard to get around here and unfortunately I don’t get to try a lot of them at the moment :)
@@thenicesmellinggentleman Sorry , You told me before . Got a great cheapie for you I think you would love if you can get it . Called Oud Thameen made by Asdaaf . Only around $25 , and smells luxurious and I would of gladly paid at least double that price . We have similar taste and think you woulf love this one ! Another great video as Always !!
I have both, Francique is leans more Gris Charnel EDP while Liam is leans more Extrait, i love Liam more and Liam performs better than francique on me.
@@limitrish9138 Ya I heard Liam is more a mix of the two (gris chanel edp and extrait) so definitely if you like the extrait I would go with liam as there is more a resemblance there, especially in the opening.
im not a hater, i love gris charnel but im lookin for a good dupe to use it on the daily. liam's okay, but it smells 60% similar. once it dries down, smells different. this smells stinky, not in a good way.
No worries, I always encourage my viewers to share their experience :) Maybe it’s a skin thing, maybe batch variations (tho this one is new so won’t have that many batches), or maybe our noses work in a different way :) For me Liam is really close to Gris Charnel, but of course there will always be a difference in quality. One is a niche scent, the other is a middle eastern clone :)
Am I the only one to smell nearly nothing but a coco sunscreen vibe? For me it’s not a good dupe, I own the original… maybe my nose doesn’t work correctly anymore 😂
Hey there! Performance (after a few months of maceration) on my skin is about 8 hours, as for how close it is, to my nose it’s very close. I hate to use percentages because it can be highly subjective, but I would say about 90% :)

@thenicesmellinggentleman. I really appreciate how you get to the point concerning fragrances and also the "rating system" you use. Great job. Subscribed😊
Thanks, appreciate the sub! Lately I haven’t used the rating system, because I didn’t think people were actually paying attention to it :) I still keep my final verdict on every fragrance I review though :)
You cover everything and answer all my questions. Thank you george

I’ve noticed that girls love to layer their fragrances 😁 Its always interesting to hear the layering combinations! Thanks for commenting! :)
Good review. I’m thinking of picking it up for the winter. I just subbed to your channel!

Lattafa Niche Emarati Antique is also a better take on gris charnel. It's more pricey too

Great channel, and great video thanks George.
I really enjoy the blue, so i definitely am interested in the grey since i love gris charnel.

Just got it,really strong, only put on a couple of sprays, smells amazing
I'm definitely ordering it though in africa we pay double the price for most fragrances it's definitely worth it
I’m sorry to hear that you have to pay a premium for your scents..
How long did you need to macerate it?
I got my Liam from Walmart, it smells like Gris but doesn’t last at all
Maybe needs some time. My bottle performs alright :) Hope yours improves

Happy New Year George, thanks for the review cuz I was looking for a cheapie of GC. Is there a cheapie clone of MAB Ganaymede extrait?
Happy new year mate! Haven’t come across a clone of Ganymede Extrait yet, only the regular version so far :)

Liam is leans more to Extrait version, it's not stinky just fig with spicy notes
let it macerate brother, most of my middle east fragrances change so much (in a good way) after i macerate it 1-2 months

It lean masculine or feminine ?

Hello perfume friend, how close is it to the original in %? How many hours does it last? Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Hey said 8hrs. on skin and about 1 hr of strong projection..

Hi George, have you tried Lattafa Masa?
Hey man! Yea, received it a few days ago and I’m still testing it :)
@@thenicesmellinggentleman Great, cant wait for your thoughts. Gent Scents guy sait its Ganymede clone, notes arent the same. Super interesting!
Ganymede clone ?? Ooh I’m listening . I only know of one clone currently . I LOVE that fragrance !!❤
Yep, it’s a Ganymede clone 😁 A good one actually
I have 3 clones of Ganymede 😁 One from Paris Corner, one from Lattafa and one from Zimaya

I ultimately purchased Liam Grey bc of this review and found the rating system helpful and accurate.
