You are one of the few frag reviewers who consistently does side by side skin tests (as opposed to paper strips). Thank you. Humans are made of skin, not paper.
I was very close to picking this one up before Christmas. Would've been a blind buy gift, but I've always maintained that the first 10 sprays out of a bottle are a write off. Bottle components have their coatings too and everything needs to equalize. Best approximations are 3, 12 and 48 weeks after getting those first sprays out. Nevertheless, what you said makes sense. Sweet bases are always cheaper to produce. Incidentally, I recently got to smell the Francique clone off of a friend and it was bang on. That would probably be my pick if I wanted a GC copy. ✨
I picked up Lattafa Liam a few days ago. I think it smells wonderful. I have a 2ml sample of Gris Charnel somewhere so need to find it in order to do a comparison.
@@mikeycologne Those Middle Eastern fragrances need to "mature" before you can accurately determine. They crank them out by the vat-full, and they are shipped "immature"...but that's what makes them cheap.
Mate! Your channel popped up on my feed and it's awesome here! I love the way you review fragrances and you have a great vibe. I've started buying Middle Eastern fragrances over this past fortnight and I know that I will need to let them sit and macerate for six weeks after the first 4 sprays. Can't wait to see how the juice changes over that time. Thanks for the review!
Exactly!!! They crank those Middle Eastern fragrances by the vat-full and they haven't had a chance to "age"...but that makes them cheap. Clear the straw with 5-10 sprays and let them sit. You can't make an accurate determination for at least another month!
A fantastic Gris Charnel close is from Fragrance World for under $50 called Francique 63.55 . Of course not the same juice quality , but in the air gets 90 % close to the bdk . Maybe the best fragrance for the price I bought in 2023 .
I never tested either of them, but I own a few Lattafa dupes that I tested side-by-side with the originals and what I can say is that everyone of those clones need to sit after I spray them a few times.. Middle-eastern frags, not only the ones from Lattafa, change for the better in my experience after you spray them and leave them for a few weeks
Gris Charnel wasn't a home run for me. And I think I would like addition of a more creamy vanilla and no green note from the fig. Do you think in that way I could like it more? I'm female btw*
i hear that lattafa liam is more closer to gris charnel extrait, and francique 63.55 is closer to the edp version which is known to be more creamier which may be what your looking for
You are doing great work Mikey. Your content is a treat to watch. I appreciate the effort you put into your reviews. I've been on the fence on Liam. thanks for helping me decide.
This is a great side by side review. Ive noticed some big reviewers give cloe frags a fantastic review when they launch, but then run the clone down 6 months later when newer clones have launched.
Been thinking about getting this one because everyone says it is amazing. I have also heard a lot of people say out of the box it isn't the best, but after a few weeks it totally changes and becomes amazing
Hey. I don't own this one but instead Liam Blue. It goes into the direction (vibes) of ADG Profondo - not the same. Very nice smelling Spring/Summer scent. 🙂
Very honest review! You need to let the Lattafa to sit for a while, it will become better. By the way..,have you smelled the Rogue version or maybe Francique's for Gris Charnel dupe ?
Can you do a video going over good fragrances for a cafe? Think cosy but non-offensive or overpowering (non-oud) scents would be what comes to mind for me..
I picked up the Liam, scent unsmelled, and was a little disappointed by the church lady smell of it. I am hoping that the tea and wood are drawn out and the sweetness mellows after it is given a little time to sit and macerate. As it is now, it is so matronly, it is unwearable.
@mikeycologne thank you very much for answering! Liam is sitting very light on me too and doesn’t last. I’ll try this other dupe, I heard about “fragrance #?”. Even if it’s more expensive, if this delivery a better experience, I think it’s worth.

Thank you 👍🏻 well I think it’s the right thing to do like you say we are not made of paper 👌🏻
Thank you. Excellent comment!

Is that the o e from fragrance world mate ?
@@mikeycologne Yeah. Francique 63.55 or something like that. The copper capped one anyway.

Yeah it does smell nice especially for the price but at the moment it’s sitting light on me 🤔

so how do the 2 compare to you?
i also got a 2 ml Gris Charnel decant first to check on the dna and ordered Liam Grey now

I very much appreciate that mate so thank you 👍🏻 one thing with me is that I’m honest !

I might need to check that one out 👍🏻
Agreed. Got to smell it recently and was delightfully surprised. FW does some great work.
I’d recommend checking this one out as well!!
Is it still ok?
Coz some of my fw parfs spoil after more then 3 month...
You are one of the good reviewers, not shilling for these clones.
Thanks for the review.

The grey does smell good. Haven't smelled the bdk. Someday I will. Thanks for review and comparison.

I just got it and I genuinely can’t tell the difference
Thnks for the review, i think im gonna buy this in Indonesia its 19$
Definitely this fragrance only for the fall or winter season. Can't wear this in summer.

All ways need to be honest 👍🏻 no I haven’t 🤔 I haven’t even heard off them ones 🤦🏼♂️
I have it, it's duping rouge smoking. Just get it, it's 95% close to the OG
Looking at the notes (on fragrantica) Liam seems to be a clone of the extrait, not the Edp

I’ve got a busy week mate but at some points I’ll have a look at my collection and see what I can do 👌🏻
Is it leaning masculine or feminine ? This point is important for me
I appreciate your reviews. Keep it up!
Cheers mate 👌🏻

you are comparing a frag of 200 dollars with one who cost 35 dollars...will never be the same quality sir, for sure....
Has the liam maserated before the review
I can’t wait to try this one 🎉
3 Videos in a row ❤️
Hell yeah 👌🏻
So is this better than the francieque ??????
Great review Mikey.
Cheers Adam appreciate it mate 👌🏻
Bet he couldn't tell if someone else sprayed them and he didn't which was which
Very good review
I bought Liam from Walmart, it doesn’t last at all. Does anyone recommend a reliable website that sells Lataffa?
Are you based in the uk ? If so soghaat is a great place 👌🏻
No, I’m in United States
Did you try another good Dupe for Gris Charnel? Or similar?
@@nilriaoliveira3720 I’ve heard that there is one from fragrance world not quite sure the name. But it’s abit more expensive 🤔

Good video bro
any updates on this mike
Have you tried
LATTAFA ATLAS ?
I find it too masculine 😢
Check out fragrance world - francique 63.55. That’s a better clone for gris charnel extrait and the EDP. It sits right between both of them
