Thank You for adding this exhibit to the Music Spheres. It's important for the world to hear and know forever. Congratulations and thanks to whoever recorded this obviously covert operation at the Academy of Music.

Traviata is a role for a dramatic soprano. Not for a lyric, not for a Spinto. However; I must say Tucci has a great vocal weight for the role. Sometimes she is overpowered and drowned though.
I don't think she's overpowered, her voice sticks out very well, even in the medium/low range, but her high notes are sometimes a little bit flat, a common problem for spintos (Tebaldi, Caballe and others most of the times lowered the cabaletta half a tone)
@@fulvioarborio9578 Also it must be remembered this performance was recorded by one mic, on the one side of the stage, in the mid 1960s.. That means the sound varies from mid-stage to the other side (66%) and the mlc needs to be known and questioned as well
You are drunk, Traviata is a lyrical role. It's not a role for a dramatic soprano the two more dramatic voices that sang Violetta were Ponselle and Tebaldi . All lyrical and lyrical -coloratura sopranos sang it: Sayao, Novotna, Moffo, Cotrubas, Steber, Sills, Zeani, Albanese, Ricciarelli, Scotto

I agree.. the performance of Trovatore was a bevy of flat notes .. too bad I like many things about her voice

Superb rendition by the great Tucci. However, I miss the concluding high E.
It's not in the original score. She was also a spinto.
I am sure she ha high E flat.. listen to di vendetta
@@kurtgarmaker3719 What is "di vendetta"?
Should read Si vendetta Gilda/Rigoletto duet
