Wow , I am very impressed with the detailing of the 1950’s Greyhound Bus !! It looks pretty close to be just like a brand new Greyhound bus that has been completely OVERHAULED !! Way to go !!
Wow! That;s the most beautiful Scenic Cruiser I've ever seen. I rode on them a lot as a kid (1956-57) On my bucket list (about to turn 70) is a ride on a Scenic Cruiser. Thanks for posting this video....
What a beautiful hoss! The color scheme, detail and the graphics are perfect and the interior makeover is pristine! Simultaneously classy and "badd arse"! I've been enchanted by these since my youth when they were often seen on the highways. I somehow missed the opportunity to ride in one, but perhaps one day I'll rectify that! Nice video. Made me feel like I was right there! "Get your kicks on Route 66"!
You have a beautiful bus. I can remember back in 70' my Mother and I traveled from Pomona,Ca to Hendersonville, Nc in a Greyhound Scenicruiser. Thanks for sharing your bus with us. Kind regards, Eric Dee.
My best friend's family owned a charter bus company, which was comprised of mostly MCI's (7's, 8's, 9's and 96A's). They did, however, have one 4903 Buffalo, which was fun to drive, but a pain in the neck to get into the lower gears after a full stop (the engine would sometimes have to be shut down to engage the lower gear).
we saw this group in Mount Vernon Kentucky off I 75. they were parked between the Arby's and Denny's. wow how sweet. we traveled RT. 66 in the 50s and 60s. the Diamond bus stop restaurant was a favorite. with the drivers wearing uniforms and hats. thanks for the video. John and Sharon Jamestown KY
Back in the mid 1960's , at the riverside bus station, there were 3 bus lines coming out of the bus station, Greyhound, trialways, and RTD Bus , the yesteryears was a great time....
Sorry I missed your comment earlier. The early problem was with the transfer case and the ability to run on only one engine if necessary. Read all about it in Scenicruising: The Greyhound Scenicruiser Story - www.scenicruising.com
Saw one on a show called South Beach Classics. They pulled it from a swamp at Ft. Meyers FL. Their plan to convert it to a restaurant. I hope they were suceccful in the restoration. Looking on Google didn't see the bus on their lot:( The owner probably scrapped it.
This bus is exceedingly well done, a masterpiece by da Vinci put to wheels. Your bus answers a question I've harbored as to the convertibility of a scenicruiser to private home on wheels, and you've satisfied my curiosity beyond expectations. It's been so long since I've ridden one that I still wonder about the quality of the ride, smooth or bumpy? So excellent has this bus been done I've put it Favorites where I can pretend its me on the road in my home on wheels!
Is it helpful in hot weather to let air reach the motor by open the rear latch to said motor? My attention was drawn to this aspect from the rear shots of the coach.
This piece by Liszt is soothing in so many ways. I'd like to have a blood pressure reading as I listen to this masterpiece. Moreover, I wonder what it would be like riding aboard this home on wheels listening to this piece. May I suggest you listen to "La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin" as done by five trombones? It, too, soothes the "savage breast." lol!!! Again, thank you for inviting me to your home.
I agree with you about the music - although just to be accurate it's actually a love song titled "Widmung" or "Devotion" by Robert Schumann transcribed for solo piano by Franz Liszt. It seemed appropriate as it may have been chosen to depict the devotion or love it took for the restoration, or perhaps just as a symbol of devotion between partners who undertook this venture. Not sure about the second piece - sounds like Rachmaninoff. In any case it was a welcome and refreshing break from the ubiquitous papp that accompanies most videos like this.
I remember seeing this scenic cruiser #082 for sale online a few years back and the owners name I believe was Frank and I talked with him a couple of times and he sold it to the guy you see driving it and I also talked with this guy a couple of times, and if I remember correctly this guy in the video lives in Arizona. After that I lost track of scenic cruiser #082.
Do you know what is really great about this video besides the scenery and the bus? I'll tell you ...the fact that you did not add hip hop, rap, techno or any other modern form of what the kids call music. I thank you for that.
If, among music today, something like multi-media queen Zooey Deschanel, or country music great Lady Antebellem, were added, btw, when was the music that IS used here in the above vid, recorded, it would be great. No Justin Bieber and NO CHRIS BROWN.,.,THANK GOD!!! (feeling cathartic as I wrote that..and of course the bus!)
@Mike Rodriguez Have no idea what you are talking about. My comment was directed at the person who said they walked 20 miles both ways to school in the snow, my response was uphill both ways. A joke. For one,I own a small ranch in the panhandle of florida, Moms been dead for five years and Pop passed in January. They didn't have a basement. I am 100% combat disabled and am 67 years old. Supported myself since age 16. Two tours in Vietnam. Have no use for a bong and yes, I do like Queen, but waiting for the movie to come to HBO.
beautiful. but how about a full inside tour? would love to see what you did with the front end. you went to flexsteel seats and it appears a completely new dash but you never shot that. would love to see that and a detail of the rest of the coach...which you obviously put lots of money and love into.
+shnewsman Did you mean more details than what's shown from about 1:37 to 2:42? Unfortunately that's all there is, taken in 2011 when I rode in it - not my Scenicruiser, unfortunately!
That makes a wonderful motor home. I see they left the dog on it. I wish they had mentioned what engine the bus has. Is it a GM 6-71 or 8-71 by any chance?
The graphic on the side detracts from it, and you should have painted the roof white. But why can't they make these today in this style, empty, and ready to be fitted out?
Sorry, but my limited editing software cannot handle both; it's all or nothing and from the original video, most of the sound is wind. Look for another of my postings called Scenicruiser Detroit Diesel Music.
I WOULD HOPE BY NOW YOU KNOW HOW TO OPERATE A CAMERA. IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE CHASING A FLY AROUND WITH A CAN OF FLY SPRAY. NICE SUBJECT, BAD CAMERA WORK. I RODE ON THE CRUISERS MANY TIMES. THEY ARE ADDICTIVE. THANKS FOR THE SHOW. KEEP GOING AND SHOW ME MORE.
Why did you add the bus video to the music? Why not just videotape 6 minutes and 26 seconds of a concrete block wall? After all, to you, the music is far more important than the stupid bus...
Nothing wrong with the music. The music is fine. But what about the music the diesel engine of the bus makes? Saw a video a few days ago about an airplane manufacturer bragging about their powerful turboprop airplane. Cool! A powerful turboprop! Woo-hoo! I wanna hear that! Nope... The idiots had a piano soundtrack over the "powerful turboprop." . Motors make their own kind of music. Have a little respect for the motors...
You are right! That's been one of my frustrations in assembling videos. The tool I use only allows either/or - either the sound from the original video or something else like music. But the videos have a lot of wind noise and other distracting, irrelevant stuff. So I chose the music. However, the diesel music must be heard, so at least I put up a video featuring only that! th-cam.com/video/uElX9lEPStE/w-d-xo.html

I loved these buses! This is one awesome motorhome!!! I would love one like this! Nice!
and they "REALLY" drove like a dream......A bit ..."top heavy"....so fast curves were out......but a really nice driving and shifting ole bus....

BEAUTIFUL
Wow! She’s a beauty.✨
It’s so cool to see it in motion.
Than you for sharing. 👍
ONE OF THE FINEST LOOKING 4501,S IVE SEEN, GREAT JOB!!,THANKS FOR THE VID.
It is "Widmung," composed by Robert Schumann, arranged by Franz Liszt and performed by Larry Lusk.
Thank you - I was curious about the performer. What was the second piece - sounds like Rachmaninoff?
HAPPY TRAILS GUYS...!
Awesome vehicle and soundtrack!!!!
Totally awesome piece of equipment so very well done thanks for the ride.
What a classy girl...beautiful work inside and out.. may she run many more years..cheers!
Ten years ago . . . is it still running ? 😘

Very cool bus, great video
Wide World of Trains iii
Beautiful Bus !!!!
what a beautiful bus
Que camion tan Chido k bueno k no termino en la basura VeryGood Foodtruck
One of the best RV's in the world, then and NOW ! thanks. dan t.
Beautiful, I always liked the idea of converting a tough old bus into an RV instead of buying one of those flimsy RVs from a dealer.
Sweet looking Scenicruiser.
These buses are so cool when they are redone as RVs
Muuito legal , pela escolha do onibus e pelo bom gosto do interior !
Love the music. Thank you.
Wonderfully talented pianist and composer, which ever the identity, and that goes for the piece
Sick bus!

Beautiful bus! 2:07 Whoa that was some southwest desert.
Sweet ride nice job😎
OMG...I didn't have to turn off the audio in order to watch this! Thank you!
So it was claimed that there was some sort of engineering defect with these particular buses. Was that just malarkey?
Sorry I missed your comment earlier. The early problem was with the transfer case and the ability to run on only one engine if necessary. Read all about it in Scenicruising: The Greyhound Scenicruiser Story - www.scenicruising.com
Nicely done
Please, can we hear the engines. Thank you.
Very Nice my friend and the color,Yes! Thank!!! ✌️️😄

The music alone would be enough to keep me watching this!
Do you still have this beautiful bus roadworthy?
Are you traveling in it ?
It's not my bus - it's out in San Diego and is still running as far as I know.
Stunning !!
I drove these on routes in SLC and San Jose. They have yet to build a bus that is as sturdy as the Scenicruiser are.
Do you know what is really great about this video besides the scenery and the bus? I'll tell you ...the fact that you did not add hip hop, rap, techno or any other modern form of what the kids call music. I thank you for that.
oh no its That guy again in my day we walked 20 miles to school and we liked it.
oh no its That guy again

Excellent creativity! Some 1 made a motorhome out of this classical bus out of USA history!
Amazing bus..
Wow that view out the upper window....
That thing is a dream
Is it still stick shift bus with its original drive train, or at least something close to it? If not, I wouldn't want to drive it.
This one was converted to an automatic transmission.
I figured as much but had to ask. Too bad about the transmission.
Bueatiful GREYHOUND BUS, brings back memories, when I was a young boy, taking the Greyhound bus from Riverside, CA to Santa Ana, CA
Absolutely beautiful
Que tiempos tan bonito recordar
Gorgeous interior.
That makes a wonderful motor home. I see they left the dog on it. I wish they had mentioned what engine the bus has. Is it a GM 6-71 or 8-71 by any chance?
8V-71!
Very nice!!!!!

Sweet ride😎👍
AWESOME DUDE, I WILL TAKE IT.
Beautiful
very good restoration, he forgot to latch down the engine compartment door though...
He keep it open so the more air would go thur the engine compartment , they did this with the 4106,s all the time
