Practice first on something smaller and lighter--like an Abrams tank.

You gotta love the idiot rookie rider calling out “grab the brake” when the instructor is on the left side of the bike. I practice this technique, and always reach down with my hand and put it in gear first before trying to bring her back upright.

Great stuff. I'm 6'1" and 270 lbs and have been able to use the grab bar and hold the handlebar and do it that way. However, I'm getting older and using my legs rather than my back is a great technique. Thanks for posting.

To prevent the bike from rolling, If its not in gear, you can also turn the key to on...then push the REVERSE button. This will lock the wheel & the bike will not roll.

The first thing you do is put the bike in gear that way it doesn't roll and ensure that you kickstand or is down or you are in a position to put it down when on the left side of the bike when it falls to the opposite side put the kick stand down first and back in gear so it doesn't roll

I keep a "Tie wrap" around my Fluid reservoir, then I wrap it around the end of the brake lever & the handle bar holding the front brake on, excellent Emergency brake.

HOW does grabbing your brake going to help the guy twice has said grab your brake ,,, you can grab your brake 50 times it will do nothing , you need to pull on your front brake keep it pulled in and then whilst keeping it on lift the bike !!!! it will do nothing just keep "grabbing your brake "

Grabbing brake is fine --when lifting from the right. From the left, put it in gear.

  • @notewriter910

It helps to put it in gear or in reverse. “Great video.”
