  • So many ways to make coffee when hiking or camping but which is best? In this video I go through the 8 ways I make coffee when out and about. I look at taste, enjoyment, cost, weight, clean up and ease of use. Which is best for day hikes or wild camping? Does the AeroPress rule them all? Is there anything wrong with Instant? If I've missed your method, let me know in the comments!

I do the same thing with my gsi pour over. Adding a filter makes cleanup so easy. Great rundown of options 👍

Taylors hot java coffee bags is my choice nicely presented

Thanks I'll give them a go. I actually bought some ground Taylors hot java coffee the other day (haven't tried it yet) so if it comes in bags too that could be a big win.

For us its mostly instant coffee on the go, but I usually don't enjoy it. Just so simple, if you need the camping stove anyhow

Yes, it's a shame instant never tastes the same as ground! Maybe try the GSI with a filter. It's really not much hassle and does make a massive difference to the taste. Let me know if you give it a go!!

I follow the advice of the great(est) Italian alpinist Bonatti (Coffee is when you made it safely home), but if I do, then Turkish (or Greek) coffee.

I've heard Turkish coffee is amazing. I'll have to try it.

Very interesting, might need to get myself a gsi to add to the collection! What stove do you use?

Cheers. The stove is a Soto windmaster. Great little burner.
