As a massive amy fan I have to say she is one of those artists that truly shine in their live performances She has classic jazz sensibilities and never sings a song the same way twice
My 30s where spent drinking in the pubs of Camden in London. Saw Amy a few times in The Dublin Castle pub , always with friends, always laughing. She was a amazing person, and she is missed.
I’ve always felt like the public appreciate Amy as a singer and icon especially here in the UK, but amongst the online music scene she never really caught on. I couldn’t tell you why, this record is perfect in my opinion and amongst only 15 or so I’d give a 10.
Have you reacted to Close to the edge by Yes? It's a progressive rock album with only 3 tracks in the original release, but the first one might be perfectly the best song in history of music. I'll blow your mind.
Great singer, great artist overall, I remember when she was active and when she d*ed, I was old enough to know she existed but not old enough to really understand her music or themes, too bad she's gone so soon, I would have loved to see her live.
very good observation on how you thought "she still wanted this guy", because she did. Eventually she did get him back and marry him. Only to divorce him a few years later. Young love, what can you say?
You should delve into reacting to Belle and Sebastian. Scottish Indie royalty. Preferably 'The Boy with the Arab Strap' or 'If You're Feeling Sinister.'
Please Pleeeeeeze do not ever compare Amy Winehouse to any of today's modern singers! Ever! Especially Megan Trainer?! Amy was a legend and belongs with the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, etc. Don't disrespect her like that, brother 😏
This album is more of a classic soul album, while her first album is more jazz and hip hop. Her voice borrows from both Sarah Vaughan and Dinah Washington, two of her biggest vocal influences. Her tone is similar to Dinah's, while she uses vocal stylings of both Sarah and Dinah. If you listen to enough Sarah, Dinah and Amy performances, you can easily recognize it. While Back To Black or Love Is A Losing Game is probably the most classically beautiful song on this album, Wake Up Alone is the most vividly written/sung song to me. It describes that post breakup coping so perfectly.
Amy was a jazz singer. The Melodie’s start with a jazz riff and blend R&B influence. Her first album “Frank” was straight jazz out of a smoky pub

No no no. You did not just utter the words Meghan Trainor in the same sentence as the GENIUS Amy Winehouse.
Love Amy whole-heartedly! I hope you get the chance to react to her debut album "Frank", it's a life changer.
Frank Album is a Masterpiece!!!

Now I'm obliged to revisit this album. Such a great album. ❤
I really wasn’t expecting this, I’m so happy
You should listen her first album, "Frank". It is a marvelous jazz album

LOVE seeing you groove to "Just Friends" 💙

Frank and this are the 2 best albums ever!! I listen to her every day man I miss her!!
This album brings nostalgia back to me for that period… this album is a mix of Amy and Mark Ronson’s genius! Loved your review…subbed!

i thinkk you should react to her liveee performancess it isnt perfect but it is eye opening for her as an artist
Check out Frank album and Nord Sea Jazz Festival 2004 live.
maybe you recognize Rehab from the Glee version 😂

The latter, I think. Fox in the Snow is just sublime
you should listen to the downtempo version of Some Unholy War (in the delixe version of the album), it's so much better and has a darker tone
keep nit up!
U did a horrible job this album is a masterpiece
Please react to Frank, her debut album, it's my favourite album from her
You should react to Starfvcker deluxe by Slayyyter
