I'm new to painting and have to say thanks for this video very helpful for me as a beginner. It's amazing the different types of paint and the ways to use them. So nice of you to share this info. I'm looking forward to future videos. Thanks again.
I love and use Rethunk Junk regularly, since it is water based, I find it does blend smoothly. I thank you for including it though, so many other brands want to ignore that woman owned, family run made in GA, USA paint. Suzette
Hi Brandy. Elegant Upgrades uses Chalk Mountain paint. Her blends are beautiful as are yours. I wondered if you had tried that brand? I am just curious. Thank you for your time in explaining a lot of this about different paints.
Very helpful. Wish I would have paid more attention to the brands of paint you were using. I have been trying to blend with Fusion paint and struggling. Now I will buy Wise Owl
Amy Howard is my favorite chalky paint for blending so amazing! Her milk paint is excellent and her line is complete as well with waxes topcoats and all you need for a complete finish. DIY sticks like crazy but don’t like to blend it. Between the 2 I can do all my finishes. Took lots of testing to find my sweet spot.
I once purchased general finishes milk paint just because it was a pretty color and it looked good for furniture. Was not at all what I expected in a paint being a milk paint, however, I loved it. It was not easily available to me where I live so I wasn’t able to replenish my supply, but man I loved it when I had it. I have no idea about safety or sources or just that it was a good paint for me to use and gave me a beautiful finish.
I really like adding BB Frosch mineral paint powder to my paint. Just wondering if you've ever tried it? I don't why it doesn't get mentioned very often by others. I've achieved very nice results. I love watching your videos. You are a true artist!
Don’t care for Fusion paint, personally (scratches so easily even after it’s cured). Love Wise Owl and RTJ resin paint. Both are easily bendable. I’m so glad you spoke of the dangers and protection needed to protect your health. I once went in email circles trying to get the warning info of a particular paint brand 😮 Forgot to say a big thanks for a super informative video.
It definitely is a red flag when it's hard to get. That info should be easily available. It's because it's easy to find thst it's repackaged hardware store supplies once you have it.
Hi Brandy! Thank you for your videos! You have helped me so much! Can you tell me how to get Apricot by not using the unmentioned brand? I need that color. Thank you again!
I did not know to question what’s in db paint either and so glad I watched this video. Db being the brand I stocked up on just after the pandemic it was available and Stockists near me is why I chose it. I just looked on their safety data sheet 😮! Not on db website. Should be warnings on bottles. I don’t know what the base paint is for other brands but at least now know how to find the info. Ty brandy! And sorry about the raw deal u got from the co.
It's a home depot latex with additives. Easy to find with the sds sheets, why they aren't readily available. The line is repackaged hardware store products
Never again. There are just too many other brands to choose from. Wish I could return unopened bottles. Looking forward to other product comparison videos.
What paint and color would you personally use to do a white bathroom cabinet/vanity. It’s a cheaper solid wood. Just want it to look clean. We are getting ready to sell. Also which cleaner would you use before painting. Thank you so much. ❤ Love how you do EVERYTHING! Sorry for what you have been goin get through with. HUGS 🤗
I would use green eze cleaner Scuff sand if glossy Prime with Wise Owl Primer Use one hour enamel for a smooth durable, solid color finish. I like a creamy white like ivory, but snow owl is a good pure white www.wiseowlpaint.com/?aff=49
@@BrushedbyBrandy thank you sooo much. You’re the first “influencer “ I had ever followed. Before I knew what the term influencer was. Appreciate your knowledge and kindness! 💗💗
Haven't tried their one paint, I do t do a huge amount if solid color finishes ideal for all in one paints, but their chalky styles is one of my least favorites

How well does country chic paint blend? And would you please do a demo with it? I was gifted several colors of it and I have never used it.😊

Glad you showed this it’s so confusing so many choices
It can get overwhelming
what do you think of Dixie Belle paint products?
I have major reservations about the company and products

@BrushedbyBrandy Yes it was....ty again
I found blending with clay paint challenging so thanks for that Info.
I agree, it is a challenging type to blend with
When using clay paints, would it be better to use non clay paints as the base coat?
It really depends on the look you are after. Most use clay because they want the ability to peel those layers back, sometimes exposing wood

Thank you so much for this video. So informative about paints. Have you tried ONE Decor Paint from Folk Art?
Haven't tried their one paint, I do t do a huge amount if solid color finishes ideal for all in one paints, but their chalky styles is one of my least favorites
Thanks the all in one is interesting. I'll see if I like it after I finish the piece I'm painting. So far it o.k.@@BrushedbyBrandy
Paint couture? How is it?
Wanna watch but hella of a 2 days!! Still gotta do my new boots with the wax!! Can’t do with broken left ring finger!! Ugh
❤❤❤
I would be interested in MUD paint. Have you tried that?
I have not, but hear good things, sounds more clay-like
4 hour enamel 😂
You can lay a 2nd coat after one hour, the 4 hours refers to a full cure time, which is rapid fast when compared to 30 day cure times for most brands
