I mean, it is a bit of a cocky finish and given how he was leading 5 - 1 it could've been seen as disrespectful because you normally don't finish like this.

I long for a triple bulls eye 9 dart finish but thats probably never going to happen in an official event.
I love this because his opponent doesn't go for the 19 then bull and instead sets it up to leave tops as if to say, "You ain't taking out 150" and Whitlock is like, oh really? Hold my beer! Absolutely brilliant! I've only ever got 3 darts in the bull once before and that was after trying for what seemed like an eternity but to do it to finish a match off on stage, jeez!
Eh, there are plenty of ways to get to 150 points in a turn. 160-179 is damn near impossible to calculate out and throw, but 180/150 are very obtainable in a single turn of darts.
@@ShaggyRogers1 Well of course it's easy for Pro's to score 150 but this is finishing on 150! Also, you can't finish on 179 or 180 in darts. Do you even watch the sport?

Simon Whitlock has gotten bigger over the years. I remember watching darts a few years before Covid...very entertaining because I used to play 30 years ago at my local bar. I wish I could find darts on my tv now because I would still watch...I love it.

Wow that was incredible. I can honestly say I 8 of 9 darts consecutively into the cherry. At a competition. Only ever hit 2 180' after that ever.

It was the summer of 1986, I was living at the Monticello Inn, in Monticello N.Y.. In the front of the inn was a bar called the down Under as it was in the inn basement. They had a dartboard set up and people would bring in their own sets and play for drinks or whatever. Anyway I used to throw for fun at home as a kid, and the players were taking a break. I walked up picked up the 3 "house" darts, you know the ones wood and feathers. I threw them one right after the other all 3 in less than 5 or 6 seconds. ALL 3 WERE BULLSEYES! Turned around walked out! It was one of those moments that I will see on my deathbed as I look back. The look on those players faces.

My first night in a new pub in a new town. 150 left. Sod it. Go for it. 1st dart, bullseye. 2nd dart bullseye. The whole pub (which was packed) went quiet. My 3rd dart landed near double 16 🙄
yeah , word soon gets round a packed random pub when some unknown hits 2 bullseyes on a 150 finish . I can imagine the tension generated on this fictional night in nowheresville was palpable...
