Chris, thank you for exposing the race hustling occurring on a daily basis in this beautiful country.

There are no "Khoisan" but only San and Khoi. The San were the first people in Southern Africa and still exist in Namibia. The Khoi are not pure any more, but were mixed since about 1652 with Malay and European genes to become the Cape Coloured people. The word "Khoisan" was coined and is misused by Coloureds to try usurp the first people status of the San people.

These terms are also broad, it’s like how they used to call Pedi Northern Sotho and Tswana western Sotho even though Pedi, Tswana and Sotho are distinctly different languages. The Khoikhoi/Khoekhoe are tribes like Nama, Damara, !Ora, Korana. The Khwe are tribes like kxoe, ||ani. The so called San like the |Xam, |nuu, !kung and #khomani. I think people try to play too much politics with heritage in South Africa, being so called San does not make someone more indigenous, there are San who have never stepped foot in South Africa and these groups also overlap in places. The amaGqunukhwebe for example are part of the Xhosa nation but are historically so called Khoikhoi, the Damara who are Khoikhoi apparently are genetically closer to the Vambo and Herero people.
