To be fair, Torts is not wrong about Allison being always hurt... 2020-2021, Aly played 24 (of ~82) games between the AHL/NHL; 2021-22; 29 (of ~82) games; and so far this season 45 (of 67) games. So assuming 231 possible games in the three seasons since he's been pro, he's played 98 pro-games, less than half (42%) of the possible games you want to see him in; scoring 26 pts in 38 AHL games (.68pts/game) and 18 pts in 60 NHL games (.30 pts/game). When he's on the ice, his points rate translates to 55-56pts/season in the AHL; and 24-25pts/season in the NHL. As far as on-ice point production, Aly's been pretty good, especially for someone with so little pro-experience. But most prospects will accrue 98 games by the beginning/middle of their 2nd season; not end of their 3rd. Took Laughton about ~147 pro-games, including 102 NHL games to have about the same NHL production rate. Took Frosty 118 pro games, including 77 NHL games to have about the same NHL production rate. So actually Aly is showing good progress in his development, considering Laughts and Frost are considered somewhat slow/late in their development. Laughton arguably started breaking out after his 4th pro season and 104 NHL games (209 pro-games); Frosty, this season, his 4th pro season (lost 2020-21 due to injury), after 77 NHL games (142 pro-games). Provided Aly can stay healthy, I can see him elevating his game sometime next season. But some guys are just not durable. Maybe it's a training thing, or just bad luck, but in order to build team chemistry, make a difference, and develop as a prospect to your fullest potential, you first have to be there and play.
The Flyers though, just seem to be injury prone these past few seasons (or always... Forsberg, Pronger... ), whether it be NHL regulars like Coots, Ellis, Ghost, or prospects like Patrick, Morin, Laczynski... too many guys have been missing pieces or playing less effectively through nagging injuries, which ultimately hurts their game, playing habits, and the team as a whole. Maybe the team needs to encourage more resistance band training, flexibility exercises, or yoga or something; but unless your team is supremely stacked with talent (which the Flyers are not); no team can survive long and compete with their top players always side-lined and their best prospects not developing, year after year.
Speaking of hindered development... Tanner Laczynski, former Hobey Baker top 10 finalist, has a total of 74 pro-games in 3 seasons (231 possible games, 32%) since turning pro. Morin had 206 total pro-games in 7 seasons with the Flyers/Phantoms (574 possible, 36%) before calling it quits due to repeated ACL tears. We don't blame Oksar, we stand with Oskar, we love Oskar (he broke out after ~166 pro-games in North America... then cancer de-railed his development; but he's still a .33/game player aka 4th liner).

You know what's funny. Nobody and I mean nobody been asked or forced to change his game and mindset on this team than Wade Allison. Now imagine being him in 2021. Dominated AHL as a top line player. Gets called up AV puts him in top 6 top 9 role. PP role. He finishes 14 games w 4 goals 3 assists. Comes back for 22 season expected to play 3rd line RW gets put in rookie game at last minute working on conditioning and NYR Defenseman slew foots him and gets severe high ankle injury. Goes to AHL again expecting to be up w Flyers after stint and scores 7 goals 11 assists in 10 games. Never gets the call up. Lappy said he shut it down mentally. Now Torts comes in makes him cut his hair, change his game. Took everything he was projected to do and be away. ALLISON NOT A 4TH LINE CHECKER FINISHER. HES A SHOT FIRST BASHER WHO RESEMBLED A YOUNG HARTNELL. WITH A HARD SHOT.
I CAN TELL YOU W 1000% CERTAINTY HE DIDNT WANT TO PLAY HERE. HE WAS IN PITTSBURGH THIS SUMMER CAUSE HEXTALL THOUGHT CAUSE OF TIPPETT TRADE flyers would let Wade Allison walk. And Lazcynski . Planned on signing both of them. Right now Allison would be playing along side Jeff Carter or Malkin and I guarantee you he's 20 goal scorer on Pens #2 PP. So fans can think what they want they didn't watch Allison in college or AHL . Nobody's been screwed around more than he has

If a bone isn’t broken or a muscle isn’t pulled…..how are you not on the ice and playing at this level?

Did you think this was NPR? You have heard of John Tortorella. However, a far cry from the Brooksie days in New York.
