How Much Money I Made as a Software Engineer Intern (REAL Salary History)

- In this video, I will talk about my 5 internships in Toronto/California and how much money I made as a software engineer intern. I'll be showing you my real salary history throughout all my internships. If you're wondering how much tech interns make, this is the video to watch!
As a student in the Waterloo Computer Science Co-op (waterloo CS co-op) program, I was required to do 5 internships to graduate. I did my first 2 internships in the Toronto area at Kobo Inc and Genesys Labs. After that, I managed to secure internship offers at Yelp, Amazon, and Snapchat. All of these internships were located in California, and they paid WAY MORE than Toronto. Some of these salaries are pretty insane! In the end, I was able to pay off all my tuition and graduate debt-free!
I hope this video helps out anyone who is wondering how much tech interns get paid. I will show you 5 real offers from my personal experience. These are pretty realistic ranging from low to high-paying companies.

Hey I had a question, what learned in school is that what you use for your internships, or do you need to learn some stuffs on your own
You do but very late, like 3rd year… I learned it on my own early so I could pass the interviews

I’m also studying in Canada in St. John’s in memorial university of Newfoundland…can I apply for US internships? Also did you do the visa process or Waterloo managed that for you?
Yes you can. J-1 Visa USA program allows you to do this. The company will help you out with this after getting offer.

Not right after but I think once you get some entry level positions, you’ll be able to work at the big companies. Experience is more important than education.

Are internships open for bootcamp grads?
You can try. At Yelp one of the interns was like a late 20’s person from Germany. He came directly from a full time job.

Yes companies can provide TN Visa. Really simple process
