sorry to interrupting you, why you skipped the step of adding phenol: chloroform: isoamyl alcohol (25:24:1 ratio) after done transfer of supernatant to a fresh vial or eppendorf tube?

Vortex is not recommended once DNA is extracted in the solution. DNA in the ethanol should be mix by gentle pipetting or inverting.
